Hello r/TwilightFanfic. I don’t normally use Reddit but I decided to make this acc to hopefully get some more traction on what started out as a joke to parody twilight turned serious yet still meta commentary filled passion project. It’s not perfect but it’s been heck of a fun write so far.

I’m gonna call this series The Moonwake Chronicles and I’ve already finished part 1: Twilight: Moonwake (around 75000 words) with Bella being paired with a merfolk with my own Twilight-ified spin on the formula. Currently I’m working on the second story with plans for a third and maybe a few spinoffs.

Hope some fans out there might get a kick out of this, coming from somebody whom is largely not a fan of the series but has grown an ironic soft spot for it.

Shes in year 1 right for the first book (almost finished) should I speed it up and only make it a 4 year adventure Or have a YOLO full send moment and do 7 year im weighing my options I feel like by finishing the first book I should decide the longevity of this chaos 👌

7 year= lets play this out and keep messing with your feeling a whole lot longer

4 years= lets speed this church bus up already and grow up and still play with your feeling just not so aggressively

I'm trying to participate in Kinktober, but it's run me straight into a massive roadblock. I've received very little engagement so far compared to other authors in my fandom who are writing for the same pairings - two comments, 11 kudos. I don't pay attention to hits since they are only a metric of how many people clicked on a work, not how many actually read it and enjoyed it. They could have opened it and immediately noped out.

Same goes for the rest of my works. Very little to no engagement. I've gotten myself so focused on trying to figure out why this has been happening that I'm not enjoying writing anymore. It feels like a chore and there's this constant voice in the back of my head telling me that it doesn't matter how much time and effort I put into my work, it'll never be truly liked.

This isn't a tiny fandom (4k+ works), so that isn't the issue. Maybe it's dying (been a year since we even got a sign of life from the creators) and people are starting to lose interest, I don't know. Either way, I just don't feel that same drive to write and put myself out there anymore. I write for myself, yeah, but if I'm sharing something, it hurts like hell to not get a response. Nobody likes pissing in the wind, you know?

So yeah, probably a good time to just stop writing altogether. Maybe even stop reading considering I always compare myself to everyone else anyway.

You know that amazing feeling when a big author in your fandom notices you? It just happened to me!

I just recognized a comment on my new fic as belonging to the same author who wrote a huge collection of one-shots that I loved! I feel so honored to be acknowledged by a big writer in my fandom! 😁😁😁

Ah, the sweet dopamine. Time to take this energy and go write some more lol

Do you want almost innocent romance where you are getting pieces and bit just put the pieces together yourself???

As a writer what helps you decide when to cross over to a more smut from the reader puts the pieces together kinda romance

i literally posted my first ever fic a few days ago and some oddly loud part of my brain keeps telling me its gonna get a million hits/views in a day or some insane thing like that...mind you its a unpopular ship in a fandom that honestly hates(hate is the wrong descriptor but its strict over there which i totally understand bc the fandom doesnt have a good track record generally with most ships) any ship that isn't popular. i literally know all of this but whatever delusional part of me thats telling me otherwise needs to quiet down. i need a real reality check bc its getting out of hand.

Hola comunidad. Es mi primera vez aca jeje.

Desde hace 15/18 años comencé a escribir fanfics....en ese momento me gustaba mucho el anime y el comic japonés...anime que me gustaba, me obligaba a escribir un fanfic poniéndome a mi como nuevo protagonista jejejeje.

Lo deje por muchos años, hasta hace pocos años en dónde volví pero ahora con historias basadas en Canción de hielo y Fuego, o Game of Thrones.

Dado la temática medieval de GOT, en mi mente siempre creo las escenas de grandes batallas de ejércitos, duelos con espadas o batallas Navales o dragones. En mi mente se ven muy bien...pero cuando tomo lápiz y papel, se me dificulta mucho escribir.

Pero con el romance no tanto.

De hecho hace una semana terminé un capítulo de un baile entre un OC y Sansa Stark, Sansa es mi personaje favorito, que me gustó mucho y creo que fue fácil de escribir. Me senté frente a la PC....y comencé a escribir y las ideas y palabras venían a mi.

Pero realmente quiero escribir una buena batalla, hasta ahora digo que ocurrieron o uso frases como "choque de espadas" "el caos era..."

Duma and his sister, Mila, are gods, divine dragons, who rule the land of Valentia.

They pledged not to interfere with one another, reluctantly, and because of this, he rules the northern kingdom of Rigel with an iron fist, the weak in chains or thrown unto death, believing strength is the only way to prevent corruption, while Mila insists compassion and provision are what will bring prosperity, and she rules Zofia, to the south, protecting her people.

The Zofians are her own, given to her by the Most High, or so she says.

Though she is a goddess, a divine dragon, like Duma, her brother, she doesn't demand their service or their souls, despite that they are "beneath" her.

She entreats him, time, and time again, that there is a God in Heaven...

...that humans are worthy of "love"...

...though they are too weak and useless to survive on their own.

Even now, she resists him in battle, his deference finally absent, his nation having grown powerful, accomplishing nothing more than to display her futility and frailty, herself soon to be destroyed, as her exhaustion leads to slumber and her impotence to death.

The influence of another is now at work in Duma, unbeknownst to him, the one called the ancient Serpent, even, the "Dragon", though, he is not a divine dragon as he or Mila are.

Yet, the One he doesn't know, speaks.

I didn't write it but I really liked it it, reminded me of Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, its doesn't exactly use characters from the books though, it's just the setting is the Harry Potter Wizarding World, it's a cosmic horror kind of thing.

Okay, I need to share this with people who will probably understand how excited I am hahaha.

A girl made a piece of fanart of Emma, the main character of my Lord of the Rings fanfic. And just when I was still trying to process the fact that someone had actually drawn a character who came out of my head... SHE MADE ANOTHER ONE! 😭

I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting, but this makes me so incredibly happy.

I think we all know that writing OCs comes with its own challenges. There are certain stereotypes (like every OC being a "Mary Sue" or a self-insert, or not really feeling like they belong in the universe...).

So this is such a strange and wonderful feeling. 😭

Anyway, I wanted to share these drawings because I think they're absolutely beautiful, and because I'm way too happy to keep this to myself hahaha.
