I am a Chinese fanfic writer. English is not my first language, so I am using a translator. I have a full story called "Demon Syndrome" (鬼症).
I want to share an idea and see what you guys think.
The protagonist, Kagamizaki Akira, is a swordsman completely devoid of emotion. No past. No self. Just a hollow vessel. He doesn't fight for himself. He parasitizes Kochou Shinobu's hatred. He is nothing more than the blade she wields. If she ever stops hating, or if she dies, he will be left with absolutely nothing.
The conflict: Shinobu is walking to her death against Upper Moon Two. Akira knows he can't save her. He stands at the door, refusing to turn back, refusing to leave. He can't even unlock his Demon Slayer Mark or Red Blade, because he has nothing of his own to burn.
I also have a scene where Tamayo confronts Akira, using the same harsh "I believe in you" approach that Yoriichi once used on her 400 years ago, forcing him to face his own dead end.
Do you think a character like this fits the Demon Slayer universe? Is a character with no self truly alive?
I am looking for someone who truly understands this kind of dark, psychological narrative. If you are a writer yourself and want to discuss, please comment or DM me. I am open to co-writing or deep analysis.
