I wanted to know about the work culture at this company, particularly regarding working hours and overtime. Are employees generally expected to stay beyond their regular working hours, or is overtime only required occasionally when there is extra work?

About to start part-time with Amazon next month. Have already done my pre-hire appointment, background cleared, drug test cleared, I-9, selected my schedule, etc., however, when it's still only giving me a tentative start date.

When does the tentative start date become a confirmed start date.

Previously I had applied for a different job with Amazon, got everything completed, and then they emailed me saying all the spots were full. I just want to make sure that's not gonna happen again.

I received my inclined email from the recruiter on 21 September. The email confirmed my inclined status for the Operations and Logistics Internship 2027 and asked me to provide a few details, including my availability and location preferences. I mentioned that I was completely flexible and willing to relocate anywhere, while also sharing my top three location preferences.

I replied with all the requested details, but I have not received any response from my recruiter since then. I have emailed him four times, sending one follow-up per week, but there has been complete radio silence.

Is this normal at Amazon, and should I reach out to someone else or continue waiting?

Has anyone here been rehired at Amazon as a third-party W2 contractor after being laid off while on Focus (not PIP/Pivot)? My Amazon onboarding has started, and my laptop status currently shows “Scheduled.” Does this mean I’ve cleared Amazon’s rehire eligibility checks and am approved to start, or could there still be issues during onboarding? I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through a similar situation.

It's honestly not for me, unless you tying to move up at amazon or you want to stay out of path it's literally more responsibilities for the same pay, I prefer being in my station stress free and listnening to music and watch my tv shows in peace and hit my rate and go home, I only did it because my manager kept aksing me over and over again every month for 1 year straigt to try it out, since I'm a top performer in quality and prodoctivity she thinks that I would be a good fit for amnesty but I truly hate it and I want out, and now I'm hearing people saying you can't quit amnesty entirely unless you injured or transfer out of the building

hi everyone, i've worked for amazon twice before. one time starting jan 2025 and after a few months i got fired cause i just stopped going (stupid, i know) and got too much UPT. then i worked at a different location oct 2025 and got fired too in the middle of a shift a few days after xmas (i was seasonal but still too much UPT.) i know im a dumbass that's not my question though lol, the first time i had to wait 3 months for rehire and the next time 6 months, so i have another "first day" at my original location tomorrow. the problem is that now i see a jobs been posted at a better location with better hours and id really like to do that one instead. i'll still go tomorrow (obviously) and do my best but is there a way for me to switch to this other location and schedule? i was thinking maybe i need to resign within the a to z app (not immediately) then apply to the other job? any help is appreciated

I'm torn. To preface this, I worked at a robot facility for a year during peak COVID as a stower, water spider, problem solve and then eventually damage land before I left due to bad PAs and a better higher paying Opportunity in sales.

After I left I got my degree, moved up in my sales job to eventually leading to ops manager and then multi unit general manager.

I recently got a recruitment email for a soft goods facility wanting me to be AM 2. Obviously the pay is good/ bonus and the benefits..

But would I really wanna go back?

Does anyone have any insight or tales of caution/success

Edit: I currently make anywhere from 65-90k a year based off bonus in my current job.

I put in my transfer so many freaking times and they all got denied and now i cant put in a transfer because there is any opportunities left. Its a new building and thought they would accept my transfers ive been working at amazon for 3 years.Are there more people that didnt get in or is it just me ? Im tired of commuting mannnnn :( hopefully theres more transfer opportunities opening up soon. Super bummed.

So let me set the scene..

It’s 4:32pm, my fan at the stow station ain’t working right, there’s barely anything being sent to my station to stow, my back brace is loose, and my knee brace is hugging my ankle.. so I’m standing there hot asf staring at the pods passing by me

Out of nowhere this dude wearing a green vest and a open laptop* comes up and “hey, quick question, are those safety shoes?”

I’m like “.. yeah why..”

“Really?”

“😐😐 I got em straight from Zappos. Why?”

“Oh nah nah just making sure, they clean tho😁”

“.. thank you?”

“That just mean you not working hard enough hahaha”

And then he nods and walks away.. wtf was that about 😭😭😭

I’ve never stepped foot in this building without safety shoes and I have no coachings or write ups or anything so idk where that came from😭

I worked for Amazon in 2021, they were always hiring. But every time I check now, they're never hiring at the locations near me. Are there specific times they hire? And is the hiring process the same?

I’ve been trying to get a transfer to DUR9 for about a year now because it is much closer to home (also gas prices are insane rn), this time there was a FLEX RT shift (one i’m already in), so I applied for it as a second choice (RTS was first) and I’ve finally been accepted. Looks like I’m staying as a FLEX RT. There’s no information on exactly what my job will be or what the work will consist of.

Does anyone work at DUR9? What should I expect, especially since the holidays are coming up? Is it anything like an FC?
