I keep coming back to these weapons in every single playthrough. At this point, it's starting to feel like an actual addiction lol.
I've tried so many other weapons, but nothing comes close to the sheer aggression of Backhand Blades.
The speed, the mobility, the constant pressure, the way you can chain attacks and stay right on top of your opponent. Especially with Blind Spot or Bloodhound's Step. Holy shit, it's addictive.
Every time I try something else, I end up missing that feeling. Other weapons aren't necessarily bad, but they just feel so slow and restrictive in comparison.
And lately, I've started mixing parries into this playstyle, which makes it even more satisfying. I use a Misericorde with regular Parry, and I've gotten used to switching my grip and pulling it out almost instinctively, sometimes right after using Bloodhound's Step.
I had this ridiculous PvP fight against someone using Milady. He caught me with a jumping attack and left me one hit away from death. I escaped with BHS, landed a hit, chased him down when he tried to retreat, and hit him again.
Then he turned to attack me.
I don't even know how to explain it, but I just knew he was about to swing. I used BHS to close the distance, instantly switched from my two-handed Backhand Blades to my Misericorde, parried his attack, and finished him with a riposte.
The whole thing happened so fast that I barely had time to process what I'd just done.
And that's exactly why I love these weapons so much. It's not just the damage or the weapon art. It's the freedom to be ridiculously aggressive, constantly reposition, bait attacks, and punish mistakes without ever losing momentum.
It genuinely feels like playing Bloodborne inside Elden Ring.
At this point, I can't find another weapon that gives me the same feeling.
Does anyone else have a weapon they keep coming back to, no matter how many times they try something new?
