Fan Art & Fiction Alaťariëa the Eternal Huntress by Yangzheyyy
Alaťariëa the Eternal Huntress is a Corsair Princess, an Outcast with an enigmatic past and renowned as a persistent huntress who hunts the deadliest game across the galaxy. While she openly claims to hail from Lótessara, nobody knows her identity before she assumed her current name. Many Lótessaran Rangers theorized she might be Cellaeth, one of their own who slew many Chaos Astartes, including those of the Night Lords and Emperor's Children during the Gothic War, but she was declared dead, despite neither her Soulstone nor her body ever being recovered.
Regardless of her origins, Alaťariëa emerged from obscurity within the Corsair Group known as the Executioners, where she operated as a Fate Dealer, using the cover of shadows to wreak havoc against the forces of the Imperium. During a raid on an Imperial depot, Alaťariëa simply disappeared without a trace, much to the dismay of the Corsair Baron she served. In the centuries following her departure, rumors circulated that Alaťariëa had grown bored with her tenure among the Executioners and began exploring other marvels throughout the Materium and the Webway, including the labyrinthine Hive Worlds, the numerous Craftworlds, the Damocles Gulf, the Koronus Expanse, and even the treacherous Dark City. Whether she was simply finding a new purpose among the stars or trying to find a place to call her own, nobody truly knew.
However, many centuries later, rumors postulated by warring factions of the galaxy spoke of an Eldar Huntress draped in starlight, wielding either a unique Long Rifle or Power Glaive, who seemed to disappear into the shadows as swiftly as she arrived, leaving in her wake both her prey and the bodies of any who dared stand in her way. Among her attributed kills were Space Marine Captains, Chaos Champions, a Haemonculus from the Prophets of Flesh, rival Eldar Corsairs, Kroot Shapers, Inquisitors of the Ordo Xenos, Genestealers, a Necron Deathmark, and a legendary Vindicare Assassin. Each kill added to her fearsome reputation, marking her as a threat to every faction she encountered. Many titles were bestowed upon this Aeldari, but one eclipsed all others: the Eternal Huntress.
Alaťariëa's numerous exploits became legendary among Ranger circles and Corsair Warbands; several followers joined her, drawn to her lethal grace and unflinching spirit. What began as a small entourage of Lótessaran Rangers and Outcasts seeking her wisdom became her shadows, following her example of stalking prey on countless worlds. As her legend grew, so did her followers. Her original inner circle of hunters slowly grew into a flotilla of vagabonds and renegades: Aeldari Outcasts from several Craftworlds, exiled Dark Eldar, glory-seeking Exodites, and even a small number of Xenos mercenaries. This flotilla became feared throughout rival factions and earned the moniker of Alaťariëa's Hunters, each a consummate predator, yet all unified by the apex predator. While Alaťariëa's Hunters are modest in composition compared to other Corsair Groups, what sets them apart is their unshakable creed and unwavering commitment to the Eternal Huntress; they operate more like a Hunting Lodge than a proper Corsair Fleet. Alaťariëa is one who leads through example rather than grandiose articulation, allowing her knowledge and tactical foresight to bring glory to each kill and exotic riches to her followers.
She maintains close ties with Lótessara, regularly serving as one of their trusted agents in pursuing and recovering rare botanical specimens from treacherous regions, though she has proven unpredictable when the scent of a larger prize calls to her. Alaťariëa and her flotilla were among the reinforcements that saved Lótessara from the forces of Nurgle following the opening of the Great Rift. The Eternal Huntress had grown to relish the discord that the 42nd Millennia had in store, knowing it would offer opportunities to hunt far deadlier prey, especially those of the Necrons and Tyranids.
