DAE turn down the radio in their car when they’re looking for a house or an address so they can 'see better'?

DAE feel significantly more motivated during the night compared to during daytime?

I honestly feel like if I had the positivity and productivity in the day that I have in the night I’d be a completely different person.

DAE use suicidal ideation as a coping mechanism?

Just curious I was severely depressed when I was much younger since then suicidal ideation has become a coping mechanism for me to a point like I have a full plan and know how I would do it and when I get depressed I always know "hey if it gets too much I could do that with ease" to relieve stress and continue carrying on, like knowing I always have an out allows me to continue pushing myself. I haven't heard or don't know of anyone else who does that and I have no plans to actually unalive myself but it's become like a pathological reflex to use and think about that as a coping mechanism to continue carrying on with my days. Curious if anyone else has had it become a coping mechanism for them rather then something they are actually considering doing

DAE feel some sort of post-nut-syndrome, but with conversations?

Whenever I've engaged with other human beings in any deeper conversations than me replying with mono-syllables, I'll later feel remorseful for giving information unprompted. Like if I had exposed myself in ways that could only benefit the other person, and make me an easy target in the long run.

So instead I write that same shit to myself all the time, and have extensive conversations where I imagine what other imaginary things would say. I've found out that writing down these exchanges feels a lot more fulfilling than just talking to myself in my head. It almost hits like some sort of immediate mental clarity once I'm finished, and re-reading everything back makes me glad I did not share it with anyone.

DAE feel an inexplicable urge to step on crunchy leaves whenever they see them on the sidewalk?

It doesn't matter where I'm going or how old I am, if there's a crisp leaf on the ground, I have to step on it.

DAE feel like pulling one all nighter would get your life together?

I feel like I don’t have enough time in the day at all ever. I’m always playing catch up and then end up going to bed because I want to have good sleep habits. Buttt I feel like if I could manage just one super productive all nighter I could breathe. Buttt on the other hand, I’m older now and know I’ll probably not make it all night and just have a shitty day.

DAE find themselves attracted to singers voices in certain songs but not the singer?

Some of mine are most of nicklebacks songs, the bad touch, fancy footwork and the male singer in just give me a reason

DAE rehearse completely normal conversations in their head before they happen?

DAE rehearse completely normal conversations in their head before they happen?

Like making a phone call, asking someone a simple question, or ordering something. Then the actual conversation ends up taking about 20 seconds.

DAE feel like they underreact to shocking situations?

Do you ever feel like you underreact to things that should be shocking?
I’ve noticed that I tend to underreact to situations that would normally be considered really shocking.
One example is something that happened with my dad. It was probably one of the biggest things I’ve ever experienced, and my brother cried, but I didn’t.
Another time, we almost got into a really bad car accident, and I was the one calming my mom down. I wasn’t even that scared myself.
Sometimes I look back at these situations and wonder what’s wrong with me. I start questioning whether I’m emotionally numb or if I just process things differently.
Does anyone else react like this? Like, you know something is serious, but your emotional reaction doesn’t match how serious it actually is?

DAE anybody else open their phone and forget what they were going to do?

Sometimes I unlock my phone to check one thing, get distracted by notifications or scrolling, and completely forget why I picked it up in the first place. Does anybody else do this almost every day?

DAE experince this while jogging, or is it just me ?

It's been few weeks, I started jogging about 3 km every morning. Recently, I noticed something weird: after running for around 1 km, I realised that my nipples had become hard. 💀

Luckily, I wear a loose jersey, but damn! I wasn't prepared for my body to unlock this feature during a morning run.

And for some reason, my first thought was, "Men, this feels embarrassing!"

Is this normal, or is my body just trying to add some extra drama to my fitness journey? Have you ever experienced something weird or unexpectedly embarrassing?

DAE blink every-time they drive past a telephone pole/streetlight/sign?

Ever since I was a kid, I would blink when passing a sign or pole while riding in the car. More specifically, right when the pole would meet the corner in the window in my line of sight. And it’s visually satisfying but it’s weird because I’ll also start to get a headache and annoyed with it but it’s like I can’t keep myself from doing it. I’ve never put much thought into it but after doing that today I wondered if it was something other people did too.

DAE strongly want to eat soap or candles? Or other things with specific "tasty" colors?

My friend says it's weird. Sometimes I see candles or soaps and the textures and colors or shapes make me want to just take a bite out of it, but I don't because I know the taste will be disappointing. Lavender and Pistachio colors look especially tasty to me, they don't even have to look like food.

Things made out of glass are included.

I'm not GOING to try and eat any of them but I do Want to.

DAE felt afraid before starting something important to you —like a new career, a friendship, or a new environment — worried that you wouldn't fit in, couldn't handle it, or simply weren't cut out for it, only for everything to turn out fine in the end ?

I’d be especially interested to hear from those who started something new in their early twenties (I’m 23 myself). I’ve felt so depressed over the past few years that I sometimes feel like I won't be able to function the way I want to. There are things I haven't even tried yet, and I feel like I’ll fail because other people have been developing those skills since childhood and didn't have the same gaps in their experience that I did because of mental health.

DAE have SUPER vivid/realistic dreams if they play video games before bed?

My dreams are usually very vivid/realistic and I remember them quite well. But if I play a video game (I play mostly survival/adventure games) within an hour or two before bed, my dreams that night will be extremely vivid and I never have those typical weird dream things happen, like I could recite exactly what happened/the details in my dream and it sound like a real story.

Sometimes my dreams will have to do with the plot of the video game but other times they’re completely unrelated. I try to use this to help me lucid dream at night but my dreams are just so realistic I never even realize I’m dreaming.

DAE think we’ve normalized catfishing ourselves?

We grew up watching MTV’s Catfish just to become a generation of catfish ourselves.

We went from Photoshop to filters to AI giving us entirely new faces and bodies, and apparently we’re all just cool with that now?

I’m not talking about fixing bad lighting or editing out a pimple. I’m talking about people posting pictures where they barely resemble themselves in real life.
At what point does editing your appearance become straight-up catfishing? If you’re presenting a digitally altered version of yourself as reality, isn’t that deceptive?

Or have we all just collectively agreed to pretend we don’t notice? Wtf is happening?

DAE find it impossible to complete digital assignments

My classes have used primarily digital assignments and class materials since I was like 13, but I STILL can’t get used to the transition from physical pen-and-paper assignments 10 years later. I’m not averse to technology generally, but specifically online schoolwork is something I just can’t understand.

Since the shift to digital, whenever I try to take notes, fill out a worksheet, or complete readings via Canvas or Google Classroom or whatever, I feel confused, disconnected, and unorganized. Like I literally can’t focus or carry out the task because I get too overwhelmed and anxious. Magically, this feeling goes away once I try to do it on paper, and I can focus and compose my thoughts easily.

Everyone I talk to seems to fall into either, “They didn’t have computers when I was a kid, so I don’t like this online stuff!” or “I was raised on Google Classroom, who writes by hand anymore?”, so I’m curious if anyone else from that older Gen-Z, 2000-2005 group that was raised both physically and digitally struggles with this kind of digital-work-brain-fog-anxiety whatever you want to call it phenomenon.
