CAE not poop if they are looking at peoples faces?

Obviously not irl, but like on your phone.

I watch a lot of TikTok but if I have to poop and I’m using my phone I have to switch to Reddit or Twitter. And if a video or picture of someone pops up on those apps, I have to scroll away. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes I can’t even start the movement if I can see a persons face on my phone.

I’m sure it’s a subconscious thing for the most part but it’s also just downright uncomfortable. I shouldn’t be seeing another human being if I’m taking a poop.

DAE avoid something ordinary because childhood trauma gave your brain an oddly specific association you can’t shake? NSFW

I do not drink water, and it’s for a very specific reason. I know I’m not the only one…
Let’s start with the acknowledgment that I am very much an adult and very much aware of the benefits of drinking water versus the effects of not drinking water.
Trigger warning…shit’s about to get personal.
I do not swallow. Nor do I spit. Period.
The origin of said aversion stems from a childhood…situation, and it is deeply set.
This is where my brain got a little…twisted on logic.
Given that human sperm is microscopic, my brain decided fish sperm must be much smaller.
For some unknown reason, nature has some fish do drive-by shootings to procreate. The “mom” lays her eggs and tootles off. Some guy fish swims over them, releases sperm into the open water, and hopes something hits the mark.
The open water. That’s the part my brain gets stuck on.
My brain cannot comprehend a filter that can filter out fish sperm.
The whole “I don’t swallow or spit” thing applies to possibly imaginary fish sperm.
I don’t drink water, and honestly, my reasoning feels valid to me.
I also understand it sounds, maybe, slightly…unhinged.
Something else I understand is that with billions of people on this planet, the odds of this being a “just me” thing are probably lower than the odds of water being sperm-free.
I know someone out there can relate.

DAE use suicidal ideation as a coping mechanism?

• Upvotes

Just curious I was severely depressed when I was much younger since then suicidal ideation has become a coping mechanism for me to a point like I have a full plan and know how I would do it and when I get depressed I always know "hey if it gets too much I could do that with ease" to relieve stress and continue carrying on, like knowing I always have an out allows me to continue pushing myself. I haven't heard or don't know of anyone else who does that and I have no plans to actually unalive myself but it's become like a pathological reflex to use and think about that as a coping mechanism to continue carrying on with my days. Curious if anyone else has had it become a coping mechanism for them rather then something they are actually considering doing

Does anybody else look at old photos or videos of themselves and calculate when they would have been born if that exact photo were taken today but their age in the photo remained fixed?

OKAY. I know I'm probably about to sound like I belong in a mental hospital. But hear me out because this experience CANNOT be unique to a random 24 year old woman on Reddit. So, lately I've been doing what I like to call temporal ragebait. Mainly because it makes me realize the passage of time in a perspective beyond just, "OMG I can't believe that photo was 10 years ago!!! Time flies!!!" SO. Essentially, I find a photo of myself from when I was younger. I look at the date the photo was taken (which is usually included in the photo's metadata) and I calculate how many exact days old I was in that photo. Then I think, okay, but what if that EXACT photo were taken today but the girl in it was exactly the same age (instead of my actual age today)? What date would she have to have been born on for that to be true? I do this by taking the current date and subtracting the number of days old I was in the photo, from the current date, and that result would be what my hypothetical DOB is based on the photo (HYPOTHETICAL. Not real. HYPOTHETICAL. It's a thought experiment, not rewriting history). I have no idea if I am making sense but SOMEONE PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one.

Let's give an example. So, my actual DOB is 12/30/01. I have a video of myself that was recorded on 9/8/15, which is also when I was exactly 5,000 days old (I'm using this as an example because 5,000 is a nice satisfying number, and I actually do have a video I recorded on that date that I was recently looking back at). For reference, I was also 13 years, 8 months, and 9 days old on that date. I typically use exact number of days elapsed, though, as opposed to years/months/days, because that gives a more accurate result, since months don't all have the same number of days. But using our example of me being exactly 5,000 days old, I think, what if that exact video were recorded today, of a girl who is currently 5,000 days old. As of today, 10/14/26, a simple Google search tells us that 5,000 days ago was 2/4/13. That would, in fact, be my hypothetical DOB if we took that video of myself that in reality was taken 11 years ago, stripped it of its metadata, and pretended it was recorded TODAY, but my age in the video remained the same. Which brings us to why I call it RAGEBAIT. Because I find that result deeply offensive (in the most unserious way, btw. This doesn't ACTUALLY genuinely upset me. It's purely mock rage). I might not specifically remember 2/4/13, but that general time in my life? My actual, not hypothetical self, was 11 years old then, and that is a year I remember CLEARLY enough for it not to be some random distant time in my early childhood. Same goes for recording the actual video of which I am using to calculate the day. Those are two different points in my life that I remember generally pretty well, and THAT is precisely what makes me realize how much TIME has passed. Because we have shifted far enough from the day I was born, into a time in my childhood I would say I remember decently well. Idk does that make sense?

Idk if this is a sign of me having a quarter life crisis (I also have a lifelong fascination with dates in general which I definitely think plays into my fascination with doing this) but I genuinely do find this thought experiment so fascinating to do, and I want to know if anyone else has done anything like this. PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!

TL:DR: I apparently enjoy self-ragebaiting about the passage of time by calculating hypothetical DOBs based on younger photos of myself.

My friends and partner alike have used my phone and always find it shocking that I do not use the actual home page for my apps, is this odd?? I just use the big library all the way to the right when navigating.

DAE feel like pulling one all nighter would get your life together?

I feel like I don’t have enough time in the day at all ever. I’m always playing catch up and then end up going to bed because I want to have good sleep habits. Buttt I feel like if I could manage just one super productive all nighter I could breathe. Buttt on the other hand, I’m older now and know I’ll probably not make it all night and just have a shitty day.

DAE experince this while jogging, or is it just me ?

It's been few weeks, I started jogging about 3 km every morning. Recently, I noticed something weird: after running for around 1 km, I realised that my nipples had become hard. 💀

Luckily, I wear a loose jersey, but damn! I wasn't prepared for my body to unlock this feature during a morning run.

And for some reason, my first thought was, "Men, this feels embarrassing!"

Is this normal, or is my body just trying to add some extra drama to my fitness journey? Have you ever experienced something weird or unexpectedly embarrassing?

DAE feel some sort of post-nut-syndrome, but with conversations?

Whenever I've engaged with other human beings in any deeper conversations than me replying with mono-syllables, I'll later feel remorseful for giving information unprompted. Like if I had exposed myself in ways that could only benefit the other person, and make me an easy target in the long run.

So instead I write that same shit to myself all the time, and have extensive conversations where I imagine what other imaginary things would say. I've found out that writing down these exchanges feels a lot more fulfilling than just talking to myself in my head. It almost hits like some sort of immediate mental clarity once I'm finished, and re-reading everything back makes me glad I did not share it with anyone.

DAE strongly want to eat soap or candles? Or other things with specific "tasty" colors?

My friend says it's weird. Sometimes I see candles or soaps and the textures and colors or shapes make me want to just take a bite out of it, but I don't because I know the taste will be disappointing. Lavender and Pistachio colors look especially tasty to me, they don't even have to look like food.

Things made out of glass are included.

I'm not GOING to try and eat any of them but I do Want to.

DAE felt afraid before starting something important to you —like a new career, a friendship, or a new environment — worried that you wouldn't fit in, couldn't handle it, or simply weren't cut out for it, only for everything to turn out fine in the end ?

I’d be especially interested to hear from those who started something new in their early twenties (I’m 23 myself). I’ve felt so depressed over the past few years that I sometimes feel like I won't be able to function the way I want to. There are things I haven't even tried yet, and I feel like I’ll fail because other people have been developing those skills since childhood and didn't have the same gaps in their experience that I did because of mental health.

Like making a phone call, asking someone a simple question, or ordering something. Then the actual conversation ends up taking about 20 seconds.

Sometimes I unlock my phone to check one thing, get distracted by notifications or scrolling, and completely forget why I picked it up in the first place. Does anybody else do this almost every day?

DAE find it impossible to complete digital assignments

My classes have used primarily digital assignments and class materials since I was like 13, but I STILL can’t get used to the transition from physical pen-and-paper assignments 10 years later. I’m not averse to technology generally, but specifically online schoolwork is something I just can’t understand.

Since the shift to digital, whenever I try to take notes, fill out a worksheet, or complete readings via Canvas or Google Classroom or whatever, I feel confused, disconnected, and unorganized. Like I literally can’t focus or carry out the task because I get too overwhelmed and anxious. Magically, this feeling goes away once I try to do it on paper, and I can focus and compose my thoughts easily.

Everyone I talk to seems to fall into either, “They didn’t have computers when I was a kid, so I don’t like this online stuff!” or “I was raised on Google Classroom, who writes by hand anymore?”, so I’m curious if anyone else from that older Gen-Z, 2000-2005 group that was raised both physically and digitally struggles with this kind of digital-work-brain-fog-anxiety whatever you want to call it phenomenon.
