How do you feel about the Dodgers 3-peat being on the line with Snell and Glasnow next?

I have faith in Snell bouncing back but never trusted Glasnow.

As much as it sucks, there's a reason this series is 7 games

As much as it sucks, we still have a chance to win this series. This is the time now more than ever when all Dodgers Nation needs to come together and support this team. We have won 4 in a row many times before, and this time is no different. We have the playoff experience to get this done and we will get this done.

Interesting Roberts Stats

I know that everybody is going to say that it’s ridiculous to critique Roberts, as he has managed the objectively most successful Dodgers team ever. I’m not saying fire him — just think about this.

In Dave Roberts 27 series managed for the Dodgers, the team has entered the series as favorites for 25 of them, including every single series since the Red Sox in 2018. The only two series he wasn’t favored in — they lost (the other being the Cubs in 2016.)

Dave Roberts has also had the privilege of managing a team that was pre-postseason favorites to win the World Series in 5 of the last 7 World Series, and the 2 of those in which the Dodgers weren’t favorites, they were 2nd favorites (2023, 2025).

He has also been manager of what is statistically the best regular-season team to not win the World Series, the 2022 team, (according to Opta’s historical performance model).

I will finish with something that isn’t empirical. He has, in my opinion, managed the most talented team to ever not win the World Series in 2026. If you combine MVPs and Cy Youngs, this team has the second most of any team that didn’t win the World Series ever. Want to guess who’s first? The 2021 Dodgers.

I get it — blaming the manager after a series loss is dumb and overly reactionary, especially with how much success he’s had. But to reject having this conversation entirely is equally stupid.

Look, man, some fan service is all I'm asking for. I do not care; I do not care what the response is. Ohtani can even be DH; he can bat lead off for all I care, just please, plug JDP somewhere, anywhere. I know JDP won't magically turn this season around, but let's try it; the season has a chance to end tomorrow, why not, who cares! Defense at this point doesn't matter; him going 0fer doesn't matter. I just want the peace of mind that we tried EVERYTHING. Have him play LF, have him bat 9th, SOMETHING.

I know this isn't a popular stance in the community, but at least give me someone in the lineup I can look forward to seeing walk up to the plate; even if he goes 0-for-0 with 3 to 4 walks, give me something.

Rant aside, Dodger fans. Whether we win or lose tomorrow, we are still living in a Golden Era of Dodger baseball. We have more than enough time and talent to win one or two more before the decade closes out.

Just hear me out

Dodgers come back down 0-3 and then go on to win the World Series. Dave Robert’s is the only person to do that as a player and manager. We 3-peat and he retires letting a new young manager come in and we ride off into the offseason sunset absolute chills😮‍💨

Does Shoei look remotely close to hitting the ball? [Poll / non-poll]

I'm just seriously curious what fans in here think. As someone who has coached and played baseball a long time, his AB's look horrible to me right now. He can't even get around on a 94 mph FB. There's a difference between not producing and not being able to produce.

We all love Shohei, but objectively (or as objective as you can be), does he even look close to being able to produce? I think all three of his hits were kind of dunk balls where he reached and blooped it in or dunked it to LF if I recall.

This isn't about blaming Shohei at all. That's totally pointless. But this is a TEAM sport, and I'm asking everyone, "What are you seeing w/ your brain, not your heart?"

Before the convo gets moved to "others aren't producing". Will is 1/20, etc... Those are positions players that also have value on defense. And specifically in Will's case, he's hitting the ball hard and on a line and taking mostly good ABs - results just aren't there. It's difficult to get hits off the best pitchers this time of year, and the Dodgers have literally faced the top two pitchers in the league in the PO's so far.

Simple clear question: If you were Doc, would you sit Shohei?

No wrong answers, and please be polite. ty!

I still believe the Dodgers can win this series!

Official Doomer Thread

What’s your doomer take after these 3 atrocious performances by Dave Roberts and the team? Will you be watching them get swept tomorrow?

r/Dodgers • • 2h ago

Roberts: “we are not hitting with runners in scoring position. I don’t want to bunt and give up an out to get runners in scoring position since we are not hitting with runners in scoring position. I am hoping for slug or a double there.”

Uh? Serious? That is the entire problem right there. If your manager thinks this way and is allowed to say something like this then what are you supposed to expect from the team? Just say “we don’t play small ball and never will.” “We just sit and wait for the bats to wake up.” And Roberts sits the entire game. The other, older, Manager stands the entire game. Like he can’t even stand up. He is literally sitting there waiting for the bats to wake up. Literally looks like he doesn’t have care in the world. You can try to compensate for cold bats with small ball, urgency. There is no situational hitting, none. How are you not doing everything you can to win. Oh he also said he will not pitch Yamamoto or Skubal in any scenario in game 4 because “we need to win the other games too.” No, you have to win the game in front of you. All hands on deck. Like what is happening?

We can’t win every year

Am I disappointed? Of course, we look like a shell of the team from last year, the fire and drive are missing. But, there is a reason that there in the post WW2 era only 4 teams have ever gone back to back, it’s really hard to do, and baseball is harder to play than in the 50s and 60s when the Yankees were seemingly winning every year or when the A’s won 4 in a row in the 70s.

Credit to Milwaukee they are just making more plays and with how anemic our offense is our pitchers have no margin for error. Snell pitched 6 amazing innings. He did his job, the offense didn’t.

Obviously it’s not over, Dave Roberts knows better than anyone, but I got to see us win a title after 20 years of fandom, and now we got 3 in 6 years. Losing one year isn’t the end of the world, plus I think a longer summer may benefit Shohei most of all, he’s operating at 50% at most right now.

Go Dodgers, one game at a time!

Ok, so when reports came out and said Roberts/Dodgers were thinking about benching Ohtani did anyone think they were going to ask Ohtani if he should stay in or not? Like leave it up to him? Isn’t that what we have already been doing?

I never ever believed for a minute that they were going to bench Ohtani, like negative 100%. I figured that is how Roberts/Dodgers do it, they go through the media to try to wake someone up. So I figured that is all it was. But when I found out he was going to simply ask Ohtani if he should stay in or not I was like well that is a no brainer and a non topic then and a waste of everyone’s time and waste of a headline. It should have never been said in the Media. Of course Ohtani is going to say “keep me in coach.” No chance the best player in baseball says “yes, sit me even though my team is down 2-0.” A slumping Ohtani is better than half the hitters out there. So weird. But who knows, maybe it works and it wakes his bat up.

The Hopium posts are just as - if not more - Toxic than the dooming

Seriously, the writing is on the wall. The team is down 0-3, its very likely they will get swept. They’re old, they’re fatigued, and injuries caught up to them. Deluding the fans and trashing the doomers for the negativity and being overly optimistic is just cringe. Moral victories is for minor league coaches.

go Dodgers ✌🏽

Thoughts/Analysis on this series so far.

We won the regular season by mostly beating under .500 teams(especially in 2nd half).
Our offense is designed to get 1 or 2 guys on base, and then to hit a home run. This doesn't work in the post season as well. In post season, they haven't been patient with pitches. They haven't worked the count, except for early innings against Miz. They have swung at a ton of balls. They've left people on base.
6 starters averaging under .200. 5 starters OPS below .525.

In regular season our pitchers and relievers do well.
In post season, our star pitchers have faltered earlier, the Brewers are more patient. This post season, Dave gave too much emphasis to righty/lefty matchups and left only the catcher on the bench in the 6th inning. He wasted JDP.

In contrast:
-Brewers run fast to first EVERY time.
-They have outfielders that are all fast, get hits all over the outfield and have accurate strong arms
-They have great overall defense
-They have lots of ways to get hits
-They are young but don't act inexperienced
-They have a good manager

and of course they have that team of destiny vibe

Keys to victory Game 3?

My armchair reckons/take: With Gasser on the mound, this is the game the offense needs to make bank on the starter. He notched up two losses in his regular season starts against us, although he had a decent 4IP in NLDS #4. Their BP is just super confident and locked in atm and guessing will still be tough. If Snell can bounce back from his last start and go deep and the team backed by the home crowd...we have a good chance to take our first win. How confident do others feel?

What will they need to do to rebuild for next year?

We need some youth to balance out these “dinosaurs”.

These are the free agents according to Google.

Tarik Skubal
Blake Treinen
Evan Phillips
Kris Bubic
Miguel Rojas
Eric Lauer
Enrique "Kiké" Hernández
Brusdar Graterol
Alex Vesia

Also I think after the offense’s performance some fresh eyes as from a second batting coach couldn’t hurt.

2) William Contreras -- HBP. Takes a first pitch in the upper back. Benches clear.

3) Shohei goes 3 for 4 with a 3-run bomb

4) Dodgers 9, Brewers 0

Can someone recommend a good spot to park in Chinatown for free for game today?

I bought tickets last min but am not paying $70 for parking nor waiting 1hr to leave the lot.
I don’t mind walking at all! I see recommendations to park in Chinatown but it’s huge! Which areas generally will have parking ?

Any other areas I can consider? I’m coming from the east so somewhere east of the stadium would be preferred!

Thank you and go Dodgers!!! I’ll be part of the comeback story !

Ok, but Ohtani’s not the clean up hitter tonight against the lefty Gasser, right?

  1. Mookie
  2. Freddie
  3. Teo
  4. Tucker
  5. Pages
  6. Muncy? Or maybe Rojas
  7. Ohtani
  8. Edman
  9. Smith

I don’t know. I think it makes sense to move Ohtani and Smith down and to not have them back to back.

Assuming Dodgers are eliminated, who are you behind?

I'll be rooting for Cleveland and Jo Adell in particular. Very happy to see his talents being put to good use after being squandered on the Angels.

Update: Seems like a lot of people will root for the Brewers, and a lot of people will (allegedly) stop watching altogether. I just like watching baseball games, so I'll watch no matter who's playing.

Win or lose this series, what's your thoughts on going forward based on what you've seen?

This team has had incredible accomplishments, can they still be WS contenders going forward or is our aging core a concern? If so what do we do?

How is Freddie not a GG Finalist??

Someone please help me understand this. Just saw that Freddie Freeman is not a Gold Glove finalist at 1st Base this year. But Matt Olson is. Freddie has ONE error this season. Olson has... EIGHT. How is this real?? What am I missing?
