I'm fed up with hopping š
I have a questionāI imagine most people here "distro-hop" to explore or try out different distributions, but surely I canāt be the only one who does it because Iām just not satisfied, right? š
About a year or so ago, I started taking my first steps with Linux on an Acer Nitro laptop, but it wasnāt a great experience (I had to hunt for drivers on GitHubālol). I tried out a few different distros (Nobara, CachyOS, Pop!_OS, Fedora), but I eventually gave upāmostly because of the laptopās drivers (f*** Acer).
Iāve been trying out Linux for a few months now, with every intention of sticking with itāIāve really tapped into that rebellious, digital-anarchist spirit of the Open Source movement. Plus, my studies (in Web Development) require me to learn Linux in depthāsomething I was already keen to do. The problem is, Iām just not satisfied with anything š. Iāve spent weeks testing different options because, for me, it has to have it all: it needs to be stable (I donāt have much time to spare, for starters), it has to work well with Nvidia hardware (RTX 2060) and gaming, and it must support the entire programming stack I need. On top of that, all of a sudden, Iām running into issues with Ethernet on several distrosāit turns out that having a Realtek network card is now a problem (even on distros I had previously tested).
I donāt mean to ask for the impossible, but Iām tired and my ADHD is making it hard for me to think clearly; so, if itās not too much trouble, I would really appreciate it if you could share some of your experience with me and suggest which distro you think might help me...
