r/Devilcorp Official Welcome to r/devilcorp! What you need to know, and how you can help

What is r/devilcorp?

r/devilcorp is an open platform for former sales reps, team leaders, account managers, and office owners to share their experiences of working within the direct sales industry.

Have you ever applied to a vague ‘marketing’, ‘sales’ or ‘management training' job, and ended up having to bother passers-by to sign them up for monthly charity payments?

Perhaps this role was also paid on a commission only basis, and you were required to register as self-, meaning that you weren’t entitled to a minimum wage despite working a 60 hour work week?

Maybe you were forced to attend morning ‘atmosphere’ meetings, team nights and road trips, with threats of ‘falling behind’ if you ever fought for your free time away from work.

If any of this sounds similar to your own experience, then you may have worked in a ‘Devilcorp' office, a subsidiary of a marketing corporation such as Credico, Appco, Cydcor, or Smart Circle which masquerades as an ‘independent’ sales business.

Due to a combination of market changes, and local jobseekers becoming clued up on this scam, these offices will continuously rename and relocate themselves across whichever country they're operating in. Consequently, it also becomes necessary for each of these offices to control their online reputation, so that they still appear as legitimate businesses in the eyes of potential recruits. This can involve using accusations of slander, defamation, and even copyright to have negative experiences removed from the internet, as well as forcing new recruits to write positive reviews on websites such as Google Locations and Glassdoor.

What Can I do?

Share your experience with us! We’d love to know what challenges you may have faced in this industry, and as long as it sticks to our rules we won’t take down your post like Google and Glassdoor does to its reviews.

Make sure to include the name of the office you worked in, as well as where it’s operating, in the title of your post too! This way we can appear at the top of Google results when people search the names of these offices, and potential recruits can find the genuine experiences on this page rather than the office’s fake reviews on Google Locations and Glassdoor.

If someone here is looking for information regarding a specific office, and you’ve spent some time there, then please also share your wisdom with them. This industry profits off of the ignorance of its recruits, so each well-informed job-seeker means less money in the CEO’s pockets.

If someone you know is either working or considering working in a ‘Devilcorp’ office, then please also direct them to either this page or one of the resources below, so that they may make an informed decision in regards to whether they truly want to work in this industry.

Where can I learn more?

Many people have shared their experiences in this industry online, through interviews, vlogs, blog pages, and podcasts. Here are some further resources where you can learn more:

Devilcorp.org is an OSINT investigative website which conducts their own independent investigations into this industry. They also write guides on how to effectively conduct your own online research, and produce community projects such as its integrated search engine.

The original Devil Corp WordPress blog should be the first thing you read if you’re new to this industry. Not only does it meticulously break down every step of the business model, including the deceptive recruitment process, it also has an enormous picture gallery of Devilcorp CEOs and office owners so you can put names to faces.

Precision Independent Media’s 98 minute long Slave Circle documentary is also a must watch for anyone eager to learn more, as well as their fantastic series of interviews with former sales reps, team leaders, and office owners.

Not only is Juicy Rhino’s Instagram meme page a hilarious look into the hypocrisies of the direct sales industry, it has also proved to be a very useful tool at making sales reps and office owners alike question why they’re wasting their lives selling sim cards for 60 hours a week.

The Juicy Rhino podcast series is also fantastic, providing a satirical and insightful look into how the direct sales industry operates in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Information redditdevilcorp.com and devilcorps.com are scam websites not associated with this page

Someone has recently created the sites redditdevilcorp.com and devilcorps.com. These appear to be cynically “vibe-coded” pages attempting to sell so-called 'Partner Badges' to Devilcorp office owners for a massive $3,000 or $5,000 each (plus a subscription fee) as supposed proof that they are not Devilcorp companies.

For clarity, we have no affiliation or connection whatsoever with these websites. They are not linked to our forum or community in any way, or to my own work with devilcorp.org. The project exists entirely separately and appears to be an attempt to profit from the visibility and impact the r/devilcorp community has built.

Experience I got scammed :(

I applied for this job on LinkedIn for a Graduate Management & a Graduate Marketing role.

Prepared, attended 3 interviews, passed em all and got the call that I've cleared the interview. I was so happy that I got a "desk" job in a job market like London for a fairly nice pay for a beginner.

I booked flights from my home country just for this job & even had to find and rent a whole new apartment just because they needed a permanent address to make my contract. I spent £2,000+ even before I started this bullshit job.

Went on the field a few days ago thinking let's give it a try, it's okay life hits you bad sometimes.

I went, there's so many downsides of this particular role, and on top of that, in my mind I was prepared for a desk job for marketing or management but ended up with a job that makes me go door to door selling services for a brand.

Very demotivated and feeling shit about myself.

Make sure you do a background check on the company and then prepare for it!!!

Experience Survivors guilt

Going on Instagram and seeing all the people that you knew who are still in it. It’s kinda hard to watch. I can’t feel bad for them, though. Because at this point, they have to know what they’re in. Especially the ones who expanded and came back. They know what’s on the other side of expansion. They just keep recycling people. And then they make the new people think that they have these New sales people that came in on the first day, and hit Bell= 2 sales .They will bring people from other offices too. Or recycle their old guys. And make the new people think that it’s so easy. When in reality they’re sending experienced people to hit the field. They say they’re Building belief in the New people. we all know the only way to actually move up is to bang the boss. It doesn’t matter how good you are in this business they won’t promote you because you’re good at your job. They only promote people that they like. They will get rid of people. to give an established team to a person that they like better.

Question Is all D2D companies “devil corp?” + AMA from a D2D manager

This post really has no meaning i just wanna rant

Im a manager for a D2D pest control team going into my 2nd year managing 3rd year working. When I tell some people what I do some of them say what I do is bad, that I should quit and find something real or that im preying on people, etc. but to be honest? I don’t why i should feel bad at all. I feel like i have made many people’s lives better and I sell a service that people need. I’m just gonna talk about my experience as a manager of a D2D pest control
Team, and you guys can tell me if I’m tripping and I’m a terrible guy.

After my first year of selling over 150k (60k commission at 19) I got a manager spot. When I did my recruitment the initial ads and anyone I talked to about I said it was a D2D job and that it was going to be hard but very rewarding. I spent all winter on 2 calls a week with 10 people (I didn’t build a 100 man team like others only 12 so I could have time to care about and know everyone) and tried my hardest to train everyone for 4-6 months so they were all ready

When we got to where we were selling we were staying in a university campus and all had single apartments paid for by us, and we sold for 4 months, i lead correlation every morning, not some loud chant just a room where they could all
Ask me questions (my biggest thing I tought as a manager is just be chill, most guys out here have super salesy scripts, I didn’t give out scripts everyone built their own script taliored to themselves. If you just be a reasonable guy and talk like yourself you’ll be surprised how many more people will be down to talk to you), I had my room open every night for all my guys and I shadowed everyone or they shadowed me once every two weeks minimum. As well we went out every Sunday and we all got super close as a team.

By the end of August I had only one of my 12 reps “leave” (he went to be a technician for our company and was a top 5 tech) and the average earnings for our team in the summer was 42k per person, I sold 450k myself and team did 1.6mil

Now I’m not saying all of this to recruit anyone. I didn’t put any names of anything or where I’m at for that reason but what I want to know is I feel like since all my guys want to come back, I’m getting guys out to explore the worlds and make new friends, and make on average 4x what a kid their age learns in the summer while also learning life long skills that will never leave, why is what I do such a bad thing to people. I think with commission only sales if you have the right leaders and environment it’s way better then a hourly wage but is this true? Even if I’m the best manager in the world can I make D2D work and be a good job option for the people I hire or did I just get lucky last summer. I’m asking because i genuinely care about the people I hire and I feel like I’m putting the people I hire into a good spot for this coming summer but if this isn’t the right industry what else should I get into? I’m also a 3rd year student for a finance major

Also this can be a AMA for anyone curious about the D2D industry, I’ll be as transparent as I always am

hi all,
i almost fell for one of these once back when I was with my job, but now i don't have a job (quit for a job that flaked on me) and have an offer from another company. I can't find anything about this specific company, that's how I found out about the other one, but as I said I don't have a source of income rn, have a trip in like two weeks, and NEED something, is it worth taking until I find something better? when I talked to them (my only interviews before the actual offer were on zoom btw) they interviewed me and brought me through the whole "management training" schpeal, and the job seemed different than the description. WWYD in my position?

This is low key cringe, but it’s equally as bad as my Devil Corp with less people crowded into one room without AC or any chairs to sit on. Also, the rap music was not uplifting, much less inspiring. It was insufferable.

Question True Stance Inc. - Is this a devilcorp?

Made a throwaway account just in case but I unfortunately found out about this subreddit and the existence of devilcorps too late. I applied to this job: AT&T Retail Sales Consultant https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=c0ce0f7d0985075f&from=appshareios

I applied on Sunday. Then was immediately called on Monday for an interview which honestly should’ve raised immediate red flags. I told them to reschedule for a Tuesday interview and they did and honestly that first interview didn’t raise any red flags. They asked me about my background and that they were partnered with AT&T and Costco.

How could I? Since those are two very well known companies. Then the second interview happened on Thursday which they then called me later at 4 PM to inform me that they would like to offer me a position. I was happy so I accepted like an idiot and they want me to come in on Friday for orientation and to sign things (I’m assuming a contract).

This is their Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/truestanceinc?obrf=dDEyMnlwNGFnY29n

Their website: https://truestanceinc.com

I had already declined an $18/hr waitress job for this and by this point, I already graduated and have been job searching for 5 months and parents want me to get a job already so I’m stressed and just at a loss now.

Any job searching advice would help so thank you in advance. For reference I do have 4 years of restaurant experience. Might do door dash in the NYC area after this but life feels like it just sucks :(

Experience wlw heartbreak devilcorp

Im having a particularly hard time getting over this one women, she used to be my boss at a devilcorp company, I was much younger and she allowed things to happen in and out of the office, I was there for a year and we had gotten very very close, now mix that in with us both being women, and it being a devilcorp company, if anyone’s ever been inside one of these, yk how hard it is to get out because it’s basically like an office cult, this was b2b in a very big city, I always admired the type of person she was but I could never get behind what she did for work, the office she’s in she got lucky with, the location, the people, I didn’t have a bad time at all, ofc when I realized everything about the company, I wanted to leave, I left 2 months later, and took me no time to move on from that environment but I realized just how much I missed her, I had never told her I liked her, neither did she, I personally felt too afraid, there was too big of an age gap, she had a kid older than me, there were many things, back at the office it was as if she wanted more but held herself back a ton. but I had tried to reach out much later and I received minimal to no effort, didn’t match what I was hearing her tell everyone else about how “messed up she was”, fast forward now it’s been a year

Question Is this "Brand Ambassador" role a Devil Corp job?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently looking for a flexible job over the next couple of months to bring in steady income. I applied to a Brand Ambassador role with MTM LLC, and the recruiter has been calling, leaving voicemails, and emailing me multiple times over the last few days trying to "close the loop" and get me to book an interview. The aggressive outreach is kind of throwing up red flags for me.

The job description says it pays $40,000 - $60,000/year (Full-Time) with "Competitive Base Pay + Unlimited Bonus Opportunities."

Here are the key duties from the posting:

Represent our brand at community events, retail stores, and festivals.

Engage with homeowners through friendly, authentic conversations.

Collect information from interested prospects to schedule appointments and enter them into promotions.

Requires weekend availability and a reliable vehicle.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like I’d be standing at a booth inside a big-box retail store (like Home Depot) or at outdoor festivals, cold-approaching strangers to get them to sign up for home improvement quotes (roofs, windows, etc.).

I’m looking for something relatively manageable or at least flexible. I don't want to get trapped in a high-pressure sales environment where I'm making minimum wage and drowning under intense daily lead quotas just to hit that $40k target.

Has anyone worked for MTM LLC or done this exact type of role? What is the actual base hourly pay? Is the turnover as high as it seems, or is it actually a chill marketing gig?

Appreciate any insight before I waste time interviewing!

Thanks!

Experience A little bit of a rant

So I used to be in a smart circle office over a year and a half ago. I now have my own business that I own and not under some contract! (Social media agency to work with people to build a personal brand).

These companies keep naming their offices with consulting, or agency, or global so much to the point of where my business literally sounds like a devil corp (Apollo agency).

If they could just switch to naming it smart circle or cydcor man hiring would be hell of a lot easier.

Question Core Elite, Jersey City.

Hey r/DevilCorp,

This sub has saved my time and energy so many times, so I figured this was the best place to ask about this.

I just got an invite to a Zoom meeting tomorrow at 1pm for a company called Core Elite in Jersey City. They seem like a fairly new operation because their online presence is slim to none. I've been burned by several Devil Corps in the same area and wanted to make sure they were legit because the language of the invite, their LinkedIn page and website seems very similar to that of Devil Corps I've applied to before and want a second opinion before I accept the invitation or just ghost them.

I appreciate the help!

Devilcorp Check LionRock Financial Spoiler

Has anyone else interacted with this sales bro culture Devilcorp MLM? 🧐Their recruiter reached out to me talking about, “We’ll only charge you $1,100 per week for 12-15 high-intent leads per day if people WHO ALREADY HAVE INSURANCE.” I’m like, “Sooo… $1,100 per week for 12-15 leads per day of people WHO ALREADY HAVE LIFE INSURANCE sounds like a terrible deal. What else you got to offer?” She was like, “I was about to tell you, but you wouldn’t let me.” I was like, “So, you’re annoyed that I asked the obvious follow up question before you got there?” She said, “Yes, it’s annoying.” I said, “ Well, would you prefer I just let you go?” She said yes, so I hung up.

Don’t ever forget YOU are interviewing these people, not the other way around. A legitimate company that isn’t predatory can answer 1 god damn question without getting all butt-hurt. I reached out to dozens of IMOs and had very meaningful conversations with the bosses of all of the except this bozo Matt Mishler and his “recruiter.” Go watch this dude’s IG MLM hype videos where they show a bunch of young immigrants wearing suits as they pull up to a Fleming’s steakhouse in Lambos hahaha. I’m dead. Predatory AF. Selling a dream and shitty leads they benefit from rather they close or not.

And he says, “Let go; let God” in his videos, which we all know only former heroine addicts say, that they learned from 12 step meetings. This dude is a solar bro meets a buy here-pay here lot bro but with “Suboxone, ankle-box, I used to live in a halfway house” sales bro energy. You can’t make this shit up.

Information Legendary Impact (Beltsville, MD) is a subsidiary(?) of Noble Prestige Impact (Columbia, MD), previously known as Gold/Blue Millennial

On top of Legendary, this can also be a thread for NPI. Legendary Impact contains generally the same people that all trained under KV/ET at NPI, who are now leaders at Legendary. NPI is extremely corrupt and will stab you in the back once you've grown enough in the company, I have no doubts that the same goes for Legendary. Never trust a company with a stupid name like that LOL

⚠️ If you are a struggling immigrant or fresh out of college, they will try and lure you into their cult

Experience INTERVIEW AT A DEVIL CORP

Post image
7 Upvotes

I recently got an in person interview at Woodland Hills Element Management.

It was my second round interview.

My first round interview was a zoom call group interview.
I thought the interview was for atat but instead i was told that they worked with atat and telecom. They barley talked about the job itself.
The interviewer kept talking about trips to Cancun and residuals but hardly ever talked about the career itself. She just kept saying it was a job which you climb in roles .

The other person attending said she was looking for stability.

The interviewer kept avoiding the question so instead i back tracked , and told them “you talk about residuals so is this a commission based job?” and she said yes .

The meeting eventually ended and I was called for a second round interview in person.

As i was entering the office I was trying to find anything atat related. Instead it was just a banner .

I had yet not even known that this was a separate management and not even atat.

I was called up for my interview , i looked around and it was an empty office with tables and co workers circling around them.

Everyone was super young, fresh out of high school or in college .

Throughout the interview I was led to believe these were professionals saying they had over 70 offices open.

Right when he said that it began to click to me something was wrong.

He had priorly told me this was a 9 month training position.

After 9 months I would make around 120-130k a year , eventually opening up my own office firm.

Thats when the math was just completely wrong to me , if you only have 70 offices and you have around 20 workers that means your success rates are terrible. You’d be talking about hundreds to thousands of offices opening.

I am 20 but im not stupid and naive.

He told me pay was 350-450 a week . The hours were from 8am-7:30pm .

That alone i knew this was a shitty paying job .
He had realized I was not messing with the numbers.

He then tried to reassure me saying they give around 1-2k as a starting bonus.

Eventually the interview went on and it ended .

All they try to do is fluff your feathers make you feel great in order to join their work.

They called me later saying i was hired .

I had this gut feeling something was terribly wrong and they eventually asked for a photo of my social security. I knew there and then like wtf.

Social is normal for work but not a hard picture they can keep.

I went through my emails and found the email they sent these training videos and found the company.

THEY NEVER MENTIONED THERE COMPANY NAME UNTIL I RECEIVED TRAINING VIDEOS LAST NIGHT.

I eventually found element management searched them up to eventually see that they were a devil corp.

I was never familiar with the term until last night.

And can safely say they are.

Funny enough digging through the instagram I found a worker that was a friend of a friend .

I sent him the picture and my friend told me it made sense.

He had been trying to recruit him and his other friends.

Asking me any questions , I’d happily answer!

Experience Potential Applicants - READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY - FLC Haus/ Founders Legacy Collective

I applied for a Client Team Lead position with FLC Haus, but during the interview, I was told that I would actually be starting in face to face sales, with the possibility of moving into leadership after approximately 6–8 weeks (not guaranteed and based on review).

This experience reminded me of the recruiting approach associated with Florida Capital Inc., which I understand FLC Haus might have been previously known as. The emphasis on starting in sales, followed by promises of rapid advancement and a visual breakdown of the company’s leadership structure felt very similar.

To be clear, I understand that legitimate companies often promote from within, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with offering sales positions. My concern is the lack of transparency between the position advertised and the position actually being offered.

Candidates invest time and effort into preparing for interviews, and those with existing experience in sales, training, and management deserve to know what role they are interviewing for before arriving. Plenty of people may genuinely be interested in an entry level sales opportunity, but they should be able to make that decision with accurate information from the beginning.

My advice to future applicants**:** ask DETAILED questions about the day to day responsibilities, guaranteed compensation, and actual promotion criteria before committing. Don’t assume that applying for a leadership position means you’ll be hired into one.

I hope FLC Haus considers making its job descriptions more transparent so candidates can make informed decisions and everyone’s time is respected.
