The game in question is called The Last Blade 2. It's a late 90s SNK fighter about swordsmen in Bakumatsu era Japan that doesn't seem too distinct on the surface outside of some very gorgeous pixel art and nice music. But it hides what is probably one of the earliest "Weird Routes" in gaming.
One of the playable characters in this game is a teenage girl named Hibiki, she's seeking to retrieve a cursed katana that her blacksmith father was forced to create for a demon intent on ending the world. Hibiki is by all accounts a shy and pacifistic girl who only fights because she has to. Along her journey she befriends a charismatic young man named Amano, who is also playable. If you play the game normally, Hibiki's story ends with her and Amano visiting her father's grave before they set off together.
But here's the kicker, The Last Blade 2 is one of those fighting games that allows characters to actually kill their opponents. Not in the form of dedicated finishing moves like Mortal Kombat, these are more akin to Easter Egg animations that you only see if you win the match with super attacks. For most characters that's the end of it, as they're all hardened samurai or ronin. But not Hibiki. If you play as Hibiki and kill an opponents, she freaks out and panics at what she's done. Even her post match dialogue has react in terror and disbelief.
If you play through arcade mode with Hibiki and finish all of your opponents this way, you see her story take an entirely different route, something that does not happen for the rest of the cast. She eventually grows desensitized to the killing, until she finally snaps and starts actively enjoying it. Like many fighting games, the opponent before the final boss is a "rival" tailored to your character of choice. You've probably already guessed that Hibiki's is none other than her good friend Amano. This means that the final piece of completing this alternate route requires Hibiki to murder her newfound best friend/possible love interest, something she now sees no issue with doing thanks to your involvement. This alternate route culminates in a slightly different ending, featuring Hibiki praying alone at her father's grave, now swearing to track down and kill the demon responsible for his death.
Now before you go and try this out for yourself, I do want you to temper some expectations. It's a rather straightforward (if still fun) one-on-one arcade fighter, so the consequences of the horror aren't played to nearly the same extreme that you've seen in a full length narrative RPG like Deltarune. But the similarities to the Weird Route are so strong that I really don't think I'm "how can I make this about Deltarune" posting by making the comparison. A hidden alternate route in a game where the player corrupts a kind hearted but traumatized teenager into becoming an empty killing machine, complete with forcing her to murder her friends? I think I'm really onto something with this one. There have been bad endings and alternate routes in plenty of games before but the nitty gritty details on this one are close enough for me to believe there may have been some inspiration. Especially knowing how much Toby loves his retro Japanese video games from the PC-98 and arcade era. This one in particular is pretty infamous with fans of classic Neo Geo titles, but I never considered that it might have inspired the Weird Route until very recently.

The giant moth, the Radiance
Is destroying the Pale King’s kingdom
Hijacking bugs’ sanity with magic
Like the every daily
Question that bugs the Radiance
How did my old rival even die?
I swear I didn’t attack his home
So she lived the
Radiance, Radiance
With her mind clouding bugs’
So she stands
To infect Hallownest
From a dream
Way up high in the sky
As the Sun in your eyes
Ain't it nice?
The life forever for
Moth gods
The giant moth, the Radiance
Is destroying the Pale King’s kingdom
Trapped in the vessel despite her magic
Yet the every daily
Hope that powered the Radiance
Would never cower off of its path
If I am remembered I cannot die
So she lived the
Radiance, Radiance
With her mind clouding bugs’
So she stands
To infect Hallownest
From a dream
Way up high in the sky
As the Sun in your eyes
Ain't it nice?
The life forever for
Moth gods

Spamton is censoring the word "friend" but not "[friendship]"
Does this have something to do with image_friend?

took a while to finish, but i've finally completed my gaster cosplay! it's a bit headcanon-y and goes against some of the more popular headcanon design stuff for him, but i think it turned out looking super cool still :D
(images have been mirrored so his face cracks are on the right sides. they're correct irl but my camera flipped them lol)
(also, sorry if he looks cheap at all, he was made on a bit of a budget. most expensive thing was the trench coat, and i got that about a yeat ago)

OK OK OK THINK ABOUT IT!!! SHE PROBABLY THINKS SUSIE IS A BAD INFLUENCE ON HER BELOVED "INNOCENT" NOELLE. susie was a bully in chapter 1 and since carol is (I'm pretty sure) with friends with toriel, A TEACHER. Toriel HAS a NON-BINARY kid. Toriel probably told Carlo about what Susie is doing, and Carol LISTEN TO HER, AND SHE MAKED too kids WITH RUDEY. Which doesn't matter, I just wanted to sayed that.
"I COULD HAVE SAVED THE WORLD BUT NOW IT'S TOO LATE!" -Parson Nathaniel
"That's MY free milk, you furry de*enerate" SAID BY SUSAN MEANS THAT SHE THINKS CARLO IS A DEGENER*TE???? AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHGHHHH IT BURNS.
we need to SEND HER TO BENDIGO!
She HIRED a gay goat, and she probably mistaked Susie as Suzy THE CREATURE THAT ATE ALL MY PAPERS! FUCK YOU SUZY!
CAROL IS NOT HOMOPHOBIC, SHES JUST WORRIED ABOUT HER "innocent" DAUGHTER.
No one would have believed THAT NIKO THEMSELVES ARE A CAT.
Dude we're getting off track.
Oh, er... Right.
Get back to track before I stop paying you.
OK OK OK
Carlo is OBVIOUSLY INNOCENT. THINK ABOUT IT SHES JUST WORRIED THAT THE EVIL SUZ- SUSIE WILL TRY TO EAT THE "innocent" NOELLE,
that's all people. Now go home. I'm tired,

I think the game will have at least 3 endings, maybe 4.
Raiseis dialogue at the start of the game indicates this to me at least.
I think there will be a Pacifist ending, Neutral ending, "killing every enemy" ending, and than of course the weird ending whatever that'll be.
The game does diverge depending on how many enemies you kill.
I think the non-weird endings would be a lot more similar to each other than the undertale endings, like not a "true pacifist" type ending, they'd all roughly end in the same place, just with slight differences in the dark world side of the game.
What do you guys think?

My theory is each flower is a point in kris life for example Seth represents kris when they were questioning their gender. Full extension below 👇 sorry for missing spelling I'm writing this on 2 hours of sleep
Orange this is Kris when they were adopted, they didn't know much about human culture and they might have thought monsters are human.
Aqua is Kris when they start to get chaotic and impatient, they were wearing their brothers over size clothes.
Yellow is when they start watching the cowboy show and they start having identity issues.
Blue is when they start to express themselves more wear more demon clothes and when they learn piano shows by blue more classical music in loving steps
Seth is when Kris start to question their gender and maybe try the name Kris ( if Kris has a dead name maybe Togor). And when they start to try to be more human.
Green is when Kris realizes they were non-binary. And when they start to get more quiet and passive.
This is not to disprove other theories this is to add on to them

Today I was thinking about a really funny idea: what if Dess's guitar actually turned into a Papyrus 2.0 when she becomes Darkner? I was thinking about it for several reasons:
1- Dess's closet door looks a lot like Papyrus's door.
2- It would make sense if Dess's guitar resembled the Roaring Knight.
3- Since Chapter 6 is set in a snowy place, it would make sense to have at least some references to Snowdin (since Papyrus is the main boss of Snowdin).
4- It would be a hilarious plot twist.

A lot of people use the Berdly flashback in ch. 2 as a way of determining Kris, Noelle, and Berdly's age at the time of Dess' disappearance. In it we get such words as 'prodigy,' 'intelligent,' and of course, 'December.' These words are pretty damn simple, such that a lot of people suggest that Noelle could've been as young as six at the time.
But like, let's be honest here, a lot of Hometown residents are dumb as hell. Jockington grows a stupid-ass beard. Catty drinks milk left out in an alleyway. Pizzapants has an extended subplot where he gets catfished by a guy posing as 'Pizzarina.' Like, are they all stupid all the time? No, of course not. But they are situationally stupid and silly a lot of the time. In-Universe, it's entirely possible that whoever was in charge of the spelling bee was dumb enough to think that 'December' was an exceptionally hard word to spell.
Edit: as an addition, imagine being the organizer of the spelling bee and going "hmm, should we maybe exclude the name of one of the students who disappeared recently and whose sister is participating, such that we can avoid retraumatizing her and probably a bunch of other people in the audience? Nah!" Like this is a small town, you either gotta be insanely cruel or genuinely braindead to pull that shit.
