From David Bowie Radio One interview 1980/12/07
just before this part, he of course gives credit William S. Burroughs and mentions Lewis Carroll as someone who used that method too.
here is the full interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6ss8SdRIHQ

Now, excluding Bowie’s state at the time and any background the albums have, which one is sonically and lyrically darker in your opinion?
If it wasn’t for “I Took A Trip On A Gemini Spaceship” , I might consider Heathen to be more moody and somber. What is your opinion?

Well, the title basically, what made you fall for the ultimate Starman??
Personally my story is rubbish, I just suddenly thought "hey, I know this guy's name and face but never listened to any of his songs!" so I went and borrowed THe Next Day to the library, really enjoyed it. Then bought The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders For Mars, listened to it hundreds of times, and one day finally decided to discover all the others albums. No bis story really, hence my curiosity : 3

How do you understand this line? I've always interpreted the first part as sarcastic/ironic. Don't let the good make you forget the bad, but the second, as beautiful and invocative as it is, I've never understood. This may be another case of "Talking about act is like dancing about architecture."

Does any of you expert know if there are differences in the (at least) three editions I find of the book "Stardust: The David Bowie Story" by Henry Edwards and Tony Zanetta? They all seem to have been published in 1986, but they all have different covers and one even a different subtitle (Stardust: The life and Times of David Bowie). I need advice since they're already not very easy to find.

Hello, amazing Bowie fans, all of you! I thought we might play an exciting ranking game, where you'd be so kind as to rank tracks of The Next Day, and I'd count on your rankings and we'd come up with this definite result for a time-being. Every time you post, the 14th track will amount to 0 points, and the first track will be worth all 13. I will then do a diligent job counting all those points and posting an update here, say, in 4 days? We'll see how it goes. I will post my rating one of the first replies. And, please, don't be scared to go crazy and show your true colours. U in colours included! WAWN or Love Is Lost are bound to win, but what if they don't? Love you all! What a man our David was!

Hi all, I’m not necessarily a Bowie memorabilia collector, however I am a collector of Hedi Slimane era Dior Homme and I recently bought a blazer from SS04 that was worn by Bowie on The Tonight with Jay Leno! Thought I’d share it here. Would you guys rock this look?

this project has been stressful but i like the way it came out generally! these photos were taken using glow sticks at a slow shutter speed and all type/photo editing was done with photoshop

I’m not sure I’ve ever been so excited about a garment as when I walked into Sy Devore, an excellent menswear store in Los Angeles, and spotted this sweater. Handmade in Italy by a small label called BOB. It features an image of David Bowie that hits close to home.
I “discovered” him in the summer of 1983, when the music director at my summer camp played his new album, Let’s Dance, in heavy rotation in the auditorium. I loved the songs, and the album cover was killer. He was so cool. And I was so…not.
From there, I worked my way through his catalog. I fell for the music, the mythology, the style. I saw Labyrinth on opening weekend.
Decades later, Bowie was in heavy rotation at our house. When our daughter Sydney was a kid, she said she wanted to dress as him for Halloween. Proud dad moment. She wanted a gold jumpsuit, so I scoured the costume department on the FOX lot. My wife Melissa did her Aladdin Sane makeup.
I bought this sweater a few weeks ago in the middle of an LA heat wave. Today, in the Canadian cold, I finally got to wear it.

Since the time i've listened to David Bowie's catalogue, i've never really took notice of this album cover. However, when i took the closer look, i felt something unsettling. The horizon, the sky taking up the half of the view, the man himself standing, which makes me think that he turned into a giant. The bright color gradient also made me think that this was an oil painting rather than a photo. I probably sound dumb, but, have anyone felt the similar way to this or the other album covers of his?

I'm sure (and sorry) this has already been asked several times, but is there any list with all David Bowie songs? Or perhaps a spotify playlist? Because going to his discography on Spotify is so chaotic because of all the compilations and live albums. Especially since collaborations with other artists aren't shown there

Has anyone actually played all of Bowie’s music from Liza Jane in n 1964 to When I met you in 2016 ? if you’ve got 32 hours and 22 minutes to spare give it a go, it’s one heck of a journey

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to download the Ultimate David Bowie Remix Collection files (around 10gb in total) which was a torrent released in 2018. It looks like no one is currently seeding it. If anyone has it or knows where to get it, I'd be most grateful.
Thanks!
