Game impact score 10/14
Positives: Grinded out a win, we did a very good job boxing out this game
Negatives: Probably need to be burying a few more, some bad turnovers at the blueline.

TLDR I built an app that auto tracks venues you’ve been to, players you’ve seen, and stats from when you were there in *any* sport in *any* country. When you log a game the box score and all the data flow through to you. AMA
Letterboxd for movies, goodreads for books, BOXDSEATS for live hockey.
I think a lot of people want to know things like how many HOFs they’ve seen, how many arenas they’ve been to, whose scores the most goals, hit the most homers or three pointers, even things like how does my favorite team play when las Diaz is behind the dish but I’m not sure everyone has the spreadsheet, drawer of ticket stubs, or patience to fill in their history…so I built a fun way to help: if you take pictures at events, and you have the location services turned on, I can match the geotag and dates from your camera roll to now over 2m games I have in a db to build your history for you.
If that’s weird you can do it yourself but I think it’s slick.
Some updates:
- crossed 1,200 users and 65k games logged, both giving me motivation to keep going.
- Added pipeline to bring in box scores for almost every league from MILB and jr hockey to now things like cricket, Aussie rules, and WWE
- Added way more fun stat, game, and player badges so you can see things like hat tricks or MLB debuts
- I’m having fun and I think others are too.
And for truly no reason, there’s a “remember some guys” rail that’s truly just random players from games you’ve been to refreshing every open.
I’m figuring all of this out as I go so open to all feedback and requests, would love more eyeballs.

I had half season tickets before I had to move 2 years ago. I am moving back to the metroplex and want to pick up where I left off. I am ok just buying the half season, but thought I could split a full season with another fan so that we both save a little money.
I will be looking for 2 tickets, preferrably in the 200's but would be ok with the 100's. I've had tickets in both and think the 200's gives the best view of the ice.

Hate to see anyone miss time, but between this and Celebrini the other night, I feel very fortunate for our luck on these players sitting out.

Obviously, 2-2-1 is not exactly where we would hope to be at the start of the season. But I just wanna point out that our defense is probably the best in the league. The stars currently have the lowest true goals against average. and the lowest shots against per game average in the entire NHL. We are elite lockdown defensively. If we can get the offense, I know we can get going and become one of the most dangerous teams in the league. We also have the tools to do that. I know we can do it, go stars!

TLDR: Even a career year might not be enough for Miro to satisfy the offensive-minded voters, and his numbers are clocking in well below the last 8 winners across a number of categories.
---
Alain Nasreddine has coached NHL defensemen for a long time, and he says he has a unique “problem” when it comes to Miro.
“Usually, it’s the other way around,” he told The Dallas Morning News last week. “You have to tell the offensive D to slow down and relax and focus on D. With Miro, I’ve never lived this before where you actually have to push him to bring more offense.”
The Stars are confident they have the best defensive defenseman, period. Gulutzan and Nasreddine both said so “emphatically,” according to the same Dallas Morning News piece. But the Norris voters have never put him in their top three. Nasreddine summed up the frustration:
“When we look at the Norris, it’s always looking at points. I just find it so unfair.”
He may be right that it’s unfair, but unfortunately the numbers clearly say it’s true either way.
Full breakdown of the stats here.

I recently received this NHL Legacy Series Mikko Rantanen action figure in the mail from McFarlane Toys. My eyes immediately went to the C.
