Hey everyone,
Like a lot of you, I have been dealing with the massive delays caused by MPD stopping digital copies and forcing everyone to wait on physical mail. With only two printers running, waiting on physical cards is dragging things way past the 60-day statutory mark just to pick up a firearm (shoutout the Hi-Point C9 for being the cheapest way to see if you'll get approved).
While checking my approval status on the portal, I noticed something interesting in the source code of the approved licenses page.
The actual button to email or download your registration is fully built. They are literally just hiding it using a basic CSS property (display: none;).
If you want to see it for yourself:
- Go to your Approved Firearm Applications page.
- Right-click near your approved firearm row and hit Inspect.
- Look at the table cell and find the hidden button element with
style="display: none;".
- Double-click and delete
display: none;
- The hidden "Email" button pops right up on your screen.
(Note: Clicking the revealed button throws a banner at the top saying "Your license has been sent to your registered email address", but the backend script does not actually send the email yet).
Thought I would share this so people can see that the capability is built right in.
