Now that it's been out for a bit and everyone's gotten a chance to play, I wanted to see if anyone changed up their control scheme like I did.
For context, I play on console, which means a pretty extensive amount of abilities mapped onto a limited amount of buttons.
I noticed pretty fast that I was going to hate the jump action mapped onto X/A, when I need that thumb for the right stick. Unlike the first game, Dylan's combat and traversal style means you really need to be able to look around as you hover, but letting go of X/A to swivel makes you drop out of the sky!
After a lot of trial and error, the best configuration I came up with was moving Jump to L1/LB. This allowed me to jump around and change direction at the same time which was a total game changer.
This moved Interact/Reply/Switch to X, which might have been fine except it was awkward when I had to hold X and move the right stick to reply on the radio. I ended up making R3 the Interact/Reply/Switch button, and changing a setting so now I just had to press it instead of hold it down to talk on the radio, so then I could just press the stick and move it to the answer I wanted in one movement, which felt fairly intuitive. R3 was also a good fit because I didn't use the lock-on mechanic one single time during my entire playthrough, so I left it unbound.
Since the X button was unbound, I moved "Command" to X which also felt like a good fit for me.
So yeah, anybody else change up their controls? I'm curious to see if anybody has an interesting layout that I can try out
