I’ve tried but my god I’ve died like 30 times in this game I don’t even think I found any souls game as difficult as control resonant 😭😭

I just got my physical copy today and the latest update is a separate download, the version on the disc itself is 1.1.

I’ve read lot of comments saying that Remedy overcorrected slightly and now the game is too easy, especially boss fights. I’m not a masochist but I enjoyed the challenging nature of the first game and I’d rather not spend a bunch of time in the menus fine tuning difficulty sliders (I appreciate having that option though).

So I’m wondering whether it is worthwhile playing without updating to the newest version? Would I be missing out on anything significant if I play without updating?

I would be interested to hear from people who have played through the game, especially those who played before the patches. Thanks.

I dont remember any talking in the Gap when I ran through the first time but that was during the 2 days of early access, is this normally there? No subtitles or anything but you can clearly make out some words

Order got cancelled today, which sucks but I’m wondering if I’ll be able to cop it a few months down the line when supply is more stable. Or will it just be a limited run and be even more expensive with scalpers etc?

Hi everyone I had an email from Amazon to say my steelbook order has been delayed. Money was taken but not eta on when the order is arriving. I have seen some people have had their orders cancelled but so far I have only received a delayed email. Is anyone else in the same situation. Thanks.

I don't understand what is going on. I pre-ordered Control Resonant Steelbook Edition all the way back in June as soon as they announced they were open and they are saying my copy is delayed again. This was after they initially delayed physical copies. You mean to tell me that they still couldn't get my damn copy in the amount of time that I had to wait!? Now Remedy is making me wait even longer!? What a horrible publisher. They should be ashamed of themselves and so should best buy. I swear everyone is doing this shit on purpose to make us switch over to an entire digital lame ass future. Best Buy is usually always on point for day one pick ups, why are they doing this to us. Its not fair! This is the first time that this has ever happened to me with Best buy. Does anyone have any information as to what is happening? Please I'm afraid that I'm gonna lose my copy and crash out. Meanwhile my place of work ( superstore) has multiple of standard copies just sitting there mocking me but I refuse to buy one because its not the one I want. I need this steelbook.

Didn’t unlock the fast travel doors in the first mission because I didn’t want to fast travel, am I totally locked out of re-entering the downtown zone? Are there any main story missions that require being there to do?

...the laundry puzzle? It broke after the last patch a week or two back and it still isn't fixed on PS5. I'd love to clear the last ? and get the last secret organization location, please!

And before anyone comments, yes, the machines are in the correct sequence. I've triple checked at least 4 times since I found it a day after it broke.

So were Dylan and Jesse originally one being? Even before the slide projector. There’s a lot of evidence and even some dialogue that leads us to believe that “they” are one.

•the weird dreams of Dylan from the first game with the Hiss (which at the time is confusing to think of since it could have been the Hiss manipulation or something)

•The Video game reference they both played: Severed Circle 2

•The Grandma’s letter worrying about why the dad refers to “both kids?!?”

•The two of them “switching places in the Faults

•The life saving at the end of the game

Is there any other references to this in the first or second game?

i cleared the west incursion zone side stuff n got the gravity power so when i go for the Evacuation zone its like very big power spike enemies are like higher level than me :() i keep dying what's the progression ? how do i take get more power to match the zone there :(

It seems like this here game kinda came and went. Not much discussion about the game on social media. Hopefully with the Disc release relaunch, the convo picks up again.

I feel like in terms of remedy games, Alan wake 2 was talked about more.

Sever the Hedron Links in the Unkown Zone

Man o man, I really enjoyed my time with this game. Put around 23hours into it, definitely got my moneys worth. Art direction, sound design, character writing, world building it all is elite level.

I just lost all my enjoyment for the game when I arrived at the Unknown Zone. an absolute nightmare to navigate. I understand this is what they wanted to achieve but.. there is levels to this.. there have been occassions in this game where I felt slightly frustrated after looping around, trying to solve puzzles or navigate the right ways.. this is fine but when I circle the same Zone over and over and over again, trying to find a way to progress the story, I just gave up. Game became a chore to play so close to the ending. Bummer

Something told me to wake up in the middle of the night just about a few minutes ago and look at the Best Buy website for the steel book edition. The Oldest House wants us to buy this physical copy.

Yes, another “Amazon UK didn’t ship” issue but unlike the vast majority of the posts that are linked to the Steelbook edition, I’m awaiting the standard “Amazon exclusive” version of the game.

Got the dreaded email this morning about the delay, so I decided to cancel and purchase on PSN, but I’m unable to. Tried speaking to an Amazon associate to cancel but they have informed me that I’m unable to as the item is in either Processing or Shipping stage.

I asked Amazon about updated delivery date but again, they were unable to give any information, just that I would be updated when information was available.

Just wondering if there has been any updates via other channels?

Had a weird glitch happen at the end of the sinkhole mission where I was just trapped in the corridor at the end of the mission. I had to restart the whole sequence from the beginning again.

P.S I don’t know if the screenshot will mean anything to anyone because when it’s not glitched that wall just straight up isnt there.

I pre-ordered my copy last month from Argos (UK) but i have yet to receive any shipping information despite it supposedly releasing today.

Anyone else have this issue and getting a little nervous that it isn't coming? I just want to play it!!

Alright, it’s my first time posting here so PROBABLY a million theories have been shared and prob a bunch of people have thought of this one specifically, but I just did and I have no friends that have played this game SO DEAL WITH IT.

so I’ve been thinking about this a lot since finishing the game and looking at how Alan’s writing actually works. We know for a fact that Alan can’t just create people out of thin air because of the Dark Place rules (bro can only manipulate and nudge what already exists). So how did he guarantee a "fallback hero" in case Jesse went missing or something happened to his hero for a story?

ATP everyone is on board with Jesse and Dylan being originally just one single little girl named Jesse Dylan Faden. It’s basically confirmed now. But what if Alan literally split her into two people using the logic of *Severed Circle 2*?

We know time isn't linear in the Dark Place and Alan can see echoes of real events to inspire his stories. Imagine him looking through the dark place, seeing an echo of this lonely kid in Ordinary playing *Severed Circle 2* (a game that’s literally about a red-headed girl and a brown-haired boy with powers) wishing she wasn't alone.

Alan seeing an echo of the game, taking interest in the concept and protagonists and choosing JDF as his “hero” started turning the gears.

He can’t manifest a brother from scratch, but splitting one person into two COULD bypass that cosmic restriction. It keeps the soul conservation intact while giving him a protagonist *and* a narrative safety net (a literal Player Two).

A "severed circle" is literally a loop cut in half and pulled apart. On top of that, the Board straight up uses video game terminology when talking to Dylan, calling him **"Player Two"** and authorizing him to use the baseball bat (the weapon from SC2).

By Alan rewriting the Ordinary AWE so she split into a brother and sister, he didn't create life, he just duplicated and inverted an existing parautilitarian (JDF). If the Hiss or the Dark Presence took down Player One (Jesse), Player Two (Dylan) was coded into the story to wake up from his coma and fix it.
Idk, the literal translation of "Severed Circle" and all the single-child breadcrumbs make it feel like this is exactly what happened, plus Alan now being “The Master of Many Worlds” allowed him to see that JDF has a “Jesse” and a “Dylan” variants in other realities so he went with that. Remember, time in the Dark Place is not linear, so maybe it was current post AW2 NG+ “Master” Alan who influenced this and we just see it happen in 2002? What do you guys think?
