Stay Off Seasonally Closed Roads
I know pretty much everyone in this group is good about leaving no trace (besides tire tracks) and staying on the trails and I thank all of you for that. If you see people going into closed areas, report them. We are going to see much less resources for trails this summer and if the BLM/NF feel the land is just being trashed, they will be permanently closed.

December 2023 Update: We have some rules!
Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone is staying warm and getting ready to enjoy a nice winter season!
Since we created this sub back in 2012 we've avoided having to roll out rules as by and large- all 6000 members understood what the trail etiquette here is. Recently we've had an uptick in spam posts that have required heavy handed moderation to resolve. Thanks to everyone who has reported posts that go against our previously non-existent rules. Please keep the reports coming- I promise to do my best to clean it all up. We now have some rules in place for the first time available for your viewing pleasure on the sidebar. I've intentionally created only rules I feel strongly about to try and keep this space not super restrictive- but if anything stands out or you have suggestions please reach out.
Happy trails everyone!

Brand Affiliated Trails Offroad now lets you layer wildfires, mines, and cell coverage
Hey folks. Trails Offroad just released map layers. The newly available sources are active and historic wildfires, mines, and cell coverage. Check them out in the app or at trailsoffroad.com/map. In the next few weeks you’ll also be able to download them for offline use in the app.
Send me a message if you have any thoughts, I recently joined Trails Offroad - a small team of 7, so your feedback genuinely shapes what we build.
Also, the active wildfire layer is free for everyone. If you want to try the rest but don’t have a membership, here’s a link to get 3 months free, no credit card required: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/free-trial?promo=try-map-layers

Looking for short(ish) trails near Cortez
I have a bone stock 25’ Nissan Frontier Pro4x. Took it up the Helmet peak road (CR44->RD566->USFS322) yesterday and was pretty fun, although pretty rocky and bumpy in some sections which my wife didn’t appreciate as much as I did. What are some beginner trails/roads that off some good views along the way? Something that could be done in less than 3 hours, any ideally less rocky, even just maintained dirt roads up to a peak.

Dear Creek & Saints John Friday. Anyone know condition of Saints?
Just did Corkscrew while in Silverton. Rain, flurries, it was great. Trail was fine.
Going to be in Breckenridge Thursday and Friday, and hoping I could do the Deer Creek \ Saints John loop. Or just do some easy stuff near Breckenridge?
'21 4Runner TRD 2.5" lift, 33s, Icon suspension.
Thoughts or suggestions?
Weather looks ok Friday but the up hill on Saints might be slick? IDK.

Switzerland Trail Tacoma Boys
Shout out to the Tacoma boys with the trail wisdom on the Switzerland trail incline Sunday afternoon. We got ourselves in a tricky situation on the rocky side of the steep incline in the 4runner and they helped guide us out of it. Appreciate ya and hope to see you on the next run.

Imogene - open/closed?
Thinking of doing Imogene tomorrow. Is it closed for the season? If open, what are the conditions?

Anyone been to Loch Lomond recently
Thinking of hitting Loch Lomond before it closes on the 15th. Anyone been up there recently. Last time I was up there it was significantly more difficult than Trails Off Road is reporting. They say it it's basically a dirt road with some small rocks in places. It's this correct? I'm driving 2023 4runner TRD Premium with stock everything.

Yankee Doodle Lake + Rollins Pass MTB loop a few weekends back.
Impromptu escape. Stock F-150 handled it just fine with some patience and prior knowledge of the road.

Schubarth
Has anyone been there recently? A few months ago I heard of problems accessing the public road due to a resident putting a gate up. Some people went and the gate was open, some had to turn around after calling for police and them never showing up. Just didn't want to waste my time if unnecessary. Thanks.

Trail for colors
I have been out of town for the last 3 weeks and am looking for a trail within a couple hours of Ft Collins that may still have some fall colors. Any suggestions?

Creede and surroundings
I’m planning a 3-4 days trip in the area around Creede. Planning also to go check out Wheeler Geologic area.
Currently doing some research but I thought I would ask here as well for recommendations on what else I should see, anything from trails (easy, moderate), hiking etc.
Thanks!

Weston Pass
I'm late with these. We took a trip out late last month around peak leaf season.
Last photo is just an after wash shot.

What trails would you recommend for what i’ve got?
I’ve been getting into some light off-roading and have ran a few trails in bailey and around jefferson. I’m wondering what trails people would recommend for someone looking for a little bit of challenge but not crazy crawling.
