General Discussion The genre I would like to see Nolan tackle next
On the speculative discussion of what Christopher Nolan's next project after The Odyssey will be, I just thought of something I admittedly would like to see from him.
In terms of what story, or even what genre, he could have a go at next, I've seen a lot of comments saying he should do a horror movie; however, I happen to think otherwise. To be clear, I have nothing against the idea of Nolan doing horror, but it's not really the first thing that comes to mind for me, at least, pretty much because I don't really consider myself a horror fan (I don't hate the genre, I deeply respect it, and there are ones that are among my favorites. But when it comes to my personal favorite movie genres, horror isn't very high on that list, if anything, I'm actually more of an action person, but whatever), so I began to think long and hard about what could be more interesting to see from him, and the answer came to me earlier yesterday:
Romance
It would be quite an interesting challenge for him to make something comparatively smaller and more intimate (especially coming off The Odyssey) with a love story at the integral centre of it, but of course would still feel like Nolan in one way or another. What do you guys think, a Christopher Nolan-directed romance movie, yay or nay?

General Question Christopher Nolan's EXCALIBUR
I'm sorry but when asked that question about your dream Nolan movie the other day I surprised even myself by how genuinely exciting the idea of him making an Excalibur movie was. Subconsciously its obviously something that I've always wanted to see him tackle. The last couple of days I've thought about a hypothetical Nolan Excalibur wich inspired me to go back & watch John Boorman's 1981 classic as well as 2 Arthurian movies on opposite lengths of the polar spectrum: Antoine Fuqua's gritty 2004 King Arthur & Guy Ritchies enjoyable King Arthur: Legend of the Sword from 2017. And now I've come full circle to believing Excalibur is perfect for Nolan & Nolan is perfect for Excalibur.
There are moments in John Boorman's Excalibur (1981) that feel very much Nolan-esque & an influence on various sequences & colour schemes in The Odyssey. Do any of you know if Nolan is a fan of the 81 movie or if he has ever talked about it? The Odyssey put me back in touch with great & epic fantasy movies I loved as a kid like Thief of Baghdad & such Harryhausen movies like Sinbad or Jason and the Argonauts & of course movies from when I grew older like LOTR. Were I am in my head space at the moment as a Nolan fan atm is the feeling that I would like to see him remain in the fantasy genre with his next movie.
So if he was to make his version of Excalibur what direction would you hope to see him take it in & how would you cast it?
For the role of Arthur I initially felt the take on the character would be great to favour a slightly older actor like Hugh Jackman or RDJ. Matt Damon is one of Nolan's favourites & he played the role effectively it would be a career highlight. But my realistic choice would be ROBERT PATTINSON as Arthur in a Nolan Excalibur. He is currently on one of the greatest runs any cinematic actor has made & he could bring real majesty to a character that along with Batman could become the most iconic for his career.
I can definitely see ANNE HATHAWAY as Morgan la Fey & no one else comes close.
For Lancelot I can see TOM HOLLAND definitely as a maybe more human & vulnerable take but I would be content if the role went to one of the current crop of movie stars like AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON
For Guinevere my only choice would be FLORENCE PUGH. She was born to play that role
TOM HIDDLESTON As Leodegrance COLIN FARRELL As Uter Pendragon CALLUM TURNER As Percival
Nolan enjoys using his imagination when casting various roles & always seems to pull off miracles casting against type like with Robin Williams in Insomnia or even Heath Ledger as Joker. For Merlin I can see him turning that character on his head & giving us a radical new take by casting a powerhouse performer such as DENZEL WASHINGTON who I think would be incredible but I also like the idea of DANIEL CRAIG as Merlin too
Can you imagine the lush & beautiful photography of Hoyte Van Hoytema's finger tips all over Camelot? The rich blue than runs through the colour scheme of The Odyssey like lagoon flow transferred to red colours & running through Excalibur like life blood
If you guys haven't seen it I would reccomend watching the 1981 movie & seeing if you, like me, find it has a lot of the epic & awe of Nolan's movies. I'd also love to hear everyone's take on who they would cast & what direction you would hope Nolan to take should he ever decide to make his version of the legend.

The Prestige Rewatching The Prestige
I saw The Odyssey recently and it was by far my least favorite Nolan pic.
Went back and watched The Prestige and holy shit it is my favorite movie of all time.
It is so fucking good from start to finish, it's unbelievable.
Dark Knight used to be #1.
But the plot twists in this one are just too fucking good.
This is the movie I would pick if I could only forget one movie and rewatch it fresh for the first time.

General Game: show me your favourite characters from any Nolan film and I’ll rate them!
Here is my fave! Jimmy Grantz from Memento! Feel free to rate him if you want!
FYI:
For films I haven’t seen (Dunkirk, Oppie and Tenet) I’ll just review them by how they seem.
I’ll also explain why I rated them XYZ stars if that makes sense.

General Christopher Nolan is basically the Alfred Hitchcock of today in my opinion
I think so because Alfred Hitchcock's style was a little similar to Christopher Nolan's in my opinion
EDIT: I admit I also consider Steven Spielberg another Alfred Hitchcock of today because Steven Spielberg is my favorite overall and Alfred Hitchcock is my favorite from old Hollywood

General Question What caused us Nolanites to love Michael and Cillian over all these?
List from IMDB but I have removed Michael and Cillian for the sake of the question.
EDIT:
Not that I hate them or anything (they’re wonderful). I’m just curious why them? Also, more about Michael than Cillian.

The Prestige When the two magicians were distracted for one second Spoiler
SPOILERS
Goo' Awld Cuttah Makin' the Juliah into the brown bread and all.
After Julia's body fell out of the water tank, Cutter ran over for a second. He leaned down, pick something up, and then ran away. Neither one of the two magicians noticed because they were distracted by their emotions.
Why would Cutter Kill Julia?
During the stage conversation after the safe water drop (the first water tank the viewer sees) some very odd things happen.
Cutter walks up the stairs and seems to be messing around with a lock
At the same time, Borden is complaining about the boring magic tricks that everyone is tired of.
Perhaps Cutter is a bit insulted by this? He was the master stage engineer. The setter of traps with the bruised ego.
How did Cutter Kill Julia?
There was a gadget (in the shape of a key) that lifted Julia's tied up hands. During the first performance, the key makes a loud, distinctive click as it's being locked into place. In Julia's death scene, the click is much fainter. Perhaps, something locked the ropes and prevented them from opening.
It would be the perfect crime-Borden used a so-called dangerous knot so he was distracted and Julia was Angier's wife-so he was distracted, too.
