I’ll always root for the Sky since they’re my home team, but I want Angel to win the Finals so this organization can truly see what they lost. The true Sky fans still love you, Barbie. Go win that chip.

They are weird to look at and you will likely get downvoted to oblivion by the subreddit if you do. We will make this a rule.

Hello, I am a student researcher studying branding in North American professional basketball. Attached is a survey that asks questions about your favorite WNBA team and/or favorite NBA team. The survey consists of primarily questions where you rate your opinion from strongly agree to strongly disagree, it takes a maximum of 10 minutes and can be taken via phone or computer. This survey data will be used as part of a master’s level research project to help understand the best branding practices for WNBA teams. To be included in this study, you need to be 18 years or older, a resident of the United States or Canada, and a fan of a WNBA and/or NBA team(s). The survey does not record any personal information and has been approved by the IRB. Thank you in advance for your help!

There had been reporting that the Sky worked with Angel's team to get her where she wanted to go, but this is the first I'd heard about a concrete better offer (meaning Sky were sacrificing something to do right by Reese)

2024:
Jeff drafts Kamilla Cardoso at 3. Solid move.
Then he trades up from 8 to 7 to take Angel Reese, even though she was projected to go later. That trade cost Chicago the 2026 pick swap with Minnesota, which turned into Olivia Miles — a potential Rookie of the Year. A franchise-level talent gone because Jeff couldn't wait.
2025:
Jeff trades the 3rd overall pick (Sonia Cintron) for Ariel Atkins. Atkins is a good veteran, but not worth a top-3 pick.
He drafts Sivka and Hailey Van Lith, but again, the roster around them has no long-term stability.
2026:
The consequences hit.
The Miles pick swap becomes reality.
Chicago loses out on a star because of Jeff’s 2024 reach.

Jeff says Tyler Marsh hasn’t had a healthy roster.
But Jeff is the one who built a roster full of injured players:
DiJonai Carrington – signed injured
Courtney Vandersloot – signed injured
Azurá Stevens – signed injured
Skylar Diggins-Smith – older, injured again
Rachel Banham – re-signed despite never taking conditioning seriously and never being part of a winning team

This wasn't bad luck.
This was bad roster construction.
Jeff built this roster, made these trades, burned the draft capital, and signed the injured players.
Jeff created the "unhealthy roster" he now uses as an excuse.

If this résumé is considered good enough to keep his job, then the person evaluating him should be the one packing their bags.
At some point, someone in this organization needs to admit the obvious:
This isn't a rebuild. It's mismanagement.

Narrative: the Sky improved from last year. Certainly the future is bright.

Meanwhile in Atlanta, Angel Reese is named Defensive Player of the Year.

Later that day: Chicago Sky will bring back Tyler Marsh aka the Marshmallow Man for his 3rd season as Head Coach despite a putrid 26-62 record. His .295 winning % is the 2nd worst in franchise history trailing only to Dave Cowans who went 5-29 in the Sky’s inaugural 2006 season.

Cue the Music

I thought she was a problem and team mates could not wait to get rid of her? Did Tyler and Jeff arrive at the right conclusion? Looks like her team mates in Atlanta love her and her coach too.

Hi all - how does one go about buying season tickets?!

Why are these two people still employed by the Chicago Sky? When will the owners do right by the players and give them leadership who knows what they’re doing?
