Looking For... Slow walkers
Maybe I’ll be able to join a run club one day, but in the meantime (and before the weather turns bitter cold), I’d love to join an outdoor walking group. I’m slow as molasses, so it’s hard to find my people.☺️ Anyone aware of one? I’d love to walk by myself sometimes, but prefer safety in numbers due to previous experiences.

Pets Dental Cleaning Vet recommendations?
I am wanting to take my dog to get a dental cleaning. My parents usually schedule and pay for it but have recently moved away. They would always go to Shallowford animal hospital which I like, but I wanted to shop around if anyone has affordable vet dental care recommendations they would like to share.
Thank you in advance!

Jobs Recommendations: Where are the good jobs?
I work for a corporate company in Chattanooga.
I'm good at my job but this place is poorly organized and has very questionable ethics, and I'm slowly becoming a robot.
I really want a hard pivot to something new. Ideally somewhere creative and interesting with decent or at least consistent schedules.
Anything 45K + health benefits, no AI, and just not soul sucking.
Everything seems to be involving AI, or places that have terrible reviews relating to culture, management and work/life balance and that's not for me.
So, where do all the creative people work and still receive decent health benefits? Or do you guys also just hate your jobs?
Suggestions don't even need to be actively hiring, just a great place I can scout openings for.

Li-ion battery recycle drop box near Hixson
I'm having a hard time finding a battery recycling drop box. Batteries Plus wants to charge and the big box stores don't seem to have them. Does anybody know of one?

Non-dealership dirtbike/off-road store?
Just bought a clapped out dirt bike to start riding trails again! Are there any local shops that I could go pick up safety gear? I'd rather avoid Amazon and be able to try on different helmets and such.

Electric Crocodile is Sketchy as Shit from the Insiders
I want to start out by saying this is NOT hate or to push small businesses out of Chattanooga AT ALL!!
This is more of a warning to people living in Chattanooga or those looking to visit and find things to do or even to find an easy retail job. I worked at Electric Croc for about 7 months and it starts out awesome for everyone, the bosses act like your best friend and you get assistance through everything but as time goes by the Bosses (Paul and Michelle) start to talk shit about every tiny thing you may do, if you’re on your phone when there’s nothing to do and it’s dead; they’ll send out a mass text telling everyone they’ll CUT hours to any who’s on their phone even when no one has given us any tasks to do and this isn’t a “they’ve been on their phone their whole shift they don’t deserve to have hours” it’s in FACT a “she’s was on her phone for less than 30 minutes so I’m gonna cut their hours from 35 to 9”.
They constantly push people out without talking to them, we’ve had MULTIPLE and I mean MULTIPLE people quit because Paul and Michelle had “bad vibes” from them and hired a replacement for them before they even had a chance to give out any signs of quitting.
Their store cats Ziggy and Gizmo both have fleas and we’ve had multiple complaints from employees about it because we’re scared a customer will come up to us and complain or someone will buy something and it’ll be infested with fleas. Ziggy had worms around early September and I’m sure she goes back and forth with getting them because they allow all these old dirty clothes to come in for her to lay on (which they don’t clean before going out on the floor)
How they treat their Vendors is a whole other story, they have easy rules and I understand sometimes people will complain about how their booth turns out or how things will get thrown around because people are careless with other people’s stuff, BUT they will avoid talking to vendors to figure out a solution to small problems because they don’t like confrontation, they don’t even try to find common ground and will turn around and talk shit about their attitudes when they blow up because they’re complaining to ears that won’t hear them.
Paul has a serious porn problem, he brings in the playboys and promiscuous items that are along the edges of the three buildings, there are more than four posters for sale at their store that are for movies about Rape and when questioned why they’re selling it they say “oh you know someone might like it”, excuse me but we’re getting more complaints then praise. He brings in porn magazines from his OWN PERSONAL COLLECTION, they all come unsealed and we have to seal them ourselves so who knows how many have been used by Paul himself, and the worst of it all is he is the same head owner of green door which sells a bunch of toys, so why is he selling toys (a lot of children’s toys) and also porn in the same room.
Michelle has a serious problem with shit talk, she has made a group chat with all the managers and she is the sole person who complains about the smallest things employees have done, once was about someone having their feet up on the counter on the Ziggy counter when in fact they were propped up on a piece of wood at foot level on the back wall of the counter, she complains about people’s lack of creativity and give no ideas to help, she talks down to her employees and says “you will be fucked” when a couple of shirts are out of order to be labeled when it really boils down to how well she describes the shirt before printing the labels, she loves to roll her eyes at the vendors complains that they’re being bitchy or she can’t wait until they leave to fill in their space.
They both have serious problems and if you want somewhere to visit in Chatt, I don’t recommend supporting a business who’d rather put people out of a job over “bad vibes” then talk to them, it has to be one of the most dirty toxic places I have ever worked
They simply don’t help their community and have had people pass out in their store over the heat and refuse to fix the AC because it’s too much but will turn around and buy a whole new store from for another business idea. They pay their employee $11 an hour and promise a raise during the interview but if they simply don’t like you enough they won’t give you a raise to $13 like promised and will turn it around and say “you have to be a lead with a key to be paid $13 an hour” but will hire new people and give them all of that on their first day. Seriously save your money because their clothes will fill up a landfill just as fast as any other store and they’ll up charge you as much as they can while doing it.

Chatt Foundation
How helpful are they, really? My 32yo son may be on the streets again soon (it's terrible bc I really need him with me as a caregiver but most low-income senior housing won't allow him.) He's only been in Chattanooga a year, has no car, job or friends. He hasn't worked in a long time. He struggles with terrible depression and has an old spinal injury that is getting worse as he ages. We want to get him on SSI or DAC but us being almost homeless rn is taking all my time and energy.
If you have first-hand experience using Chatt Foundation services, please share.

Hamilton County TN - Early Voting & Absentee Turnout Report (November)
govotehamiltontn.govHCEC has thrown up a dashboard for the November elections. This is what it looks like after the first day of early voting.
I'm wondering how they're able to determine Dem/Rep/general numbers; there's no primaries! This looks like the first time they broke out the party demographic for this.
ETA: They added an update to say that the party demographic 'reflects the last primary voting history if applicable.'

Commercial Cleaner Reccomendations
Hello,
I am a business manager needing to find a commercial cleaner.
We need our shop high dusted and bathroom tiles detailed.
Do you all have any Recommendations for companies that can do this service? We will not use Clean Right Solutions.
I have contacted a few companies for quotes, but there are not a lot of reviews posted online for most of these vendors so I just wanted to check in with the community.

Apts/Homes Wife and I are looking for short term apartment leases while we house hunt. Need help!!!
Anybody have any good recommendations for short term leases? Whether it’s month to month or even 6 month terms, we are open. Currently renting a basement and it’s driving us insane. We are fine with a small place in the meantime. Ideally something already furnished (all our stuff is in storage) but we are open to everything at this point.
Preferably something in the hixson/ red bank area, but open to other areas. I work in downtown.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated!!!

Yo dawg, we heard you liked stop lights....
What in the absolute fuck is this abomination??? A 4 way stop, right next to a 3 way stop, 100 yards from a 4 way stop. How will traffic not be backed up?
