I'm so furious with CardMarket support right now

I sold a couple of cards to a guy some weeks ago: each card was sleeved and put in a toploader. Both toploaders were put in an ultra pro sleeve and sandwiched between two small pieces of cardboard. I also added some bubble wrap for extra protection.

The buyer received the parcel and, without any explanations, left me a "Neutral" feedback, with "ok" as a comment. No other details.

I contacted them to ask if they could tell me what went wrong, you know, so that I could improve for future sales. No response. Zero.

I then contacted CM support to ask if they could help me out, as I basically received a low feedback for no apparent reason. They told me that the only thing I could do was submit an official feedback revision request through the order page. If the buyer rejected it, I could then contact Support again.

So I followed their instructions. The result? Request denied. No explanation, no feedback, nothing. I still have absolutely no idea what was supposedly wrong with the order.

At that point, I was finally able to formally appeal the decision and ask Support to review the case.

Result? My request was rejected by support as well. Again, no explanation given.

I opened another support ticket asking them to at least explain why the appeal had been rejected. Their answer? "Ratings reflect buyers' personal experiences, and they are not required to provide an explanation.".

I'm honestly furious at this point. I now have a low rating with absolutely no idea what the buyer was unhappy about, and Support has decided to uphold it without providing any further explanation.

For context, the buyer registered on Cardmarket just three weeks ago and had only one other purchase before mine. On the other hand, I've been on the platform since 2020 and have ~280 reviews, all with the highest possible rating.

And now I have to keep this random unexplained low rating.

I know it's a small thing, but I'm so frustrated right now.

Sorry for the rant, everyone, and have a nice day!

EDIT: just to clarify, I'm not furious about the review itself - I'm just not ok about how support endorses this behavior.

What's the cheapest Pokemon cards seller on Cardmarket?

Guys, my kid is looking to add a bunch of cards to his Pokemon collection.

He only collects the special cards from all the Sword and Shield sets.

He gave me a list with ~400 cards he'd like to have and I'd like to get as many of the cheaper ones(for now) in big bundles so I can save on shipping and maybe get a better deal for multiples.

What sellers do you guys recommend, so I don't waste 682 years of my life and 58 billion euros looking for these cards?

Thanks!

Why is the search function in "My purchases" so absolutely horrendous and unusable?

This seems to be a constant issue for a while now. How hard can it be to make a search that is not absolutely dogwater? Love the site but that really rubs me the wrong way.

My first time buying cards

I got into SW Unlimited. My wife and I play it after the kids are asleep.

We bought the Hoth pack with the two decks. And I bought a few boosters to replace some cards with newer and cooler ones.

Previously, we played Lorcana, and it was fun too. However, we ended up leaving it for various reasons. But I was close to buying single cards because it was way cheaper than boosters.

This time, before we get bored of the game, I decided to buy some cards so I can create a cool Deck with a few cards that I got from boosters.

I already placed an order for 35 cards or so. All from the same vendor in my country, Spain.

And I wonder:

  • How long does it take to receive the package? It is supposed to be regular letter. It should be quick, right? Even more if I am in the same country than the seller.
  • How are they so cheap? I mean, I can build an entire deck of 50 new cards for roughly 10€. With the cards that I want (mostly).
  • How do they make money from this? Just curious. I guess it because of boosters and selling exclusive cards. It is like a lottery: you win a prize and compensate the other 50 unsuccessful tries.
  • This is more related to SW: Unlimited in particular. I found that the cards in the decks like Hoth are WAY worse than the rest of the cards that you find in the boosters. Does this also happen with the standalone decks like the one from Boba Fett?

Thanks all!

Issue with adding credit to account

So I had an order made as first time purchase, so I had to do it with bank transfer, wich didn't work tried twice and had money return to my account so I asked a friend if he would mind trying it and he did.

Issue is even though the transfer was made using my purchase details the money went to his account, now he's waiting for a response.

Is there anything else that we could do?

PSA: Don't expect a lot from support if you receive empty letter

440eur order from a professional seller, I made all precautions by recording the opening of the parcel, documenting everything and followed every step that support instructed, just to end with sorry can't help. Very disappointed with the outcome.

https://i.imgur.com/iPa7GKp.png

edit:
I asked cardmarket what I should do to avoid this situation and if they deemed that there was no malicious intent from the seller, they did not comment on the first one and just gave blanket response while closing the ticket. This trustee service is actually useless if you have real problems.

Selling Blocking professional buyers?

There's a certain professional buyer who regulary buys from me yet always leaves very negative reviews. I'm tempting to just block them. Why buy from me repeatedly if you believe I can't correctly grade a card?

What are other (casual) sellers doing?

Selling Is it possible to sell more than 2 items as a private seller without breaking the TOS?

Hello guys!

I'm a new seller, and I have 3 booster bundles I'd like to sell on card market, although I ran into a problem. I have listed that I have 3, but cardmarket only lets me sell 2 as a private seller.

How could I ship 3 of them to a buyer without him paying the shipping fee twice? is there a way to do this without breaking the ToS?

Thanks

Buying Buying in UK from EU

Any help with finding out about customs process about buying cards from the EU to be shipped to the UK? Am getting into SWU, but UK prices can be £15 where France/Belgium/EU can be €6, and wondering about whether that might be an option? TIA

We’ve Updated and Improved Cardmarket’s Search 2.0

Hello Cardmarket users,

We're excited to announce our latest update to Search 2.0. You may have noticed the Search 2.0 toggle in the hamburger menu before. This is our latest product search algorithm, which matches cards to search prompts more accurately.

With this new update, finding the right card has never been easier. You can now search more accurately with collector numbers, versions, and rarities. It also supports other languages better, matching your strings with accents without any issue. Finally, the search will now work with fewer than three characters.

We know how frustrating it can be when you can't find the card you need to complete your deck. That's why we've worked hard to improve the search experience and make it easier than ever to find exactly what you're looking for.

We're excited to hear your feedback on the update - and on what other improvements we can make to the search bar😉.

Give Search 2.0 a try and let us know what you think!

Buying Advice needed on a custom set purchase (seller listed full set price on individual cards)

Hi everyone, I’d like some advice on how to proceed with a purchase while staying 100% protected by Cardmarket.

The specific cards and seller don't really matter, so I'll keep things generic—I just need to know what the best approach is in this situation.

A seller (whom I’ve already messaged, and who confirmed this) is selling a set of cards. On each individual card listing, they set the price to the total amount for the entire set, specifying in the description that it is sold as a full set. Just to clarify, this specific bundle/set isn't available under the "Sets" section on Cardmarket.

I asked if it would be possible to adjust the listings so all the cards in the set appear in my cart for the purchase, ensuring I’m fully covered for any reason (since right now, adding all of them would result in paying the full set price multiplied by the number of cards).

My main concern is that if I buy just one card, and for some reason only that single card gets shipped, I would have paid the price of the entire set for just one card. Overall, this doesn't feel like the safest way to go.

The seller seems very reliable (25k+ sales, 100% positive ratings, account over 10 years old), but nothing is ever 100% guaranteed.

So, I have two main questions:

  1. Are private messages considered valid proof by Cardmarket Support if a claim is opened?
  2. Are there alternative or safer ways I can propose to the seller to resolve this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

UK price is > £800, EU price < €1.

First post here, but I've bought many cards using the site.

Have been looking to build the Blame Game Precon with cards I already own and buy the rest as singles. The face commander [[Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser]] has wildly varying prices between UK and EU sellers.

Obviously I'm going to buy from the EU, but what would cause such a disparity in price?

Buying Store owner/professional seller claimed his employee 'misplaced' an expensive card and that they couldn't find it anywhere

I wanted to share a pretty ridiculous experience I recently had on Cardmarket and see what you guys think.

I purchased a card worth approximately €300–350 that a seller had listed for €150, complete with pictures of the actual card. This wasn't some random private seller either, but a fairly large professional store on Cardmarket.

After the purchase, the seller initially informed me that they were having trouble locating the card but were still trying to find it.

Three days later, they contacted me again, this time claiming that they couldn't find the card at all. Apparently, one of their employees had placed it somewhere in the shop after taking photos of the card, and to make things even more interesting, that employee supposedly no longer worked there. So, according to the seller, they had no idea where the card had ended up.

Instead of fulfilling the order, the seller wanted to cancel it.

I refused to accept the cancellation because the story just smells like shit. Not to mention that almost every single time I have an issue like this, it's always when I find a good deal on a card that I want.

What made things even stranger was that the seller gave me his phone number and asked me to call him. I wasn't interested in discussing the situation over the phone, especially when everything could easily be handled through Cardmarket messages.

I contacted Cardmarket support and explained the situation. Support then contacted the seller, but he didn't bother getting back to me.

Since I hadn't heard anything, I messaged him again myself a week later. His response? He once again told me to call him.

I told him I wasn't interested in calling and instead suggested that I would be willing to purchase another copy of the same card, with him making up the difference.

He completely ignored that message.

I waited until the following day, but still received no response whatsoever. At that point, I contacted Cardmarket support again to explain that the seller was refusing to communicate properly or offer a resolution.

Shortly afterward, the seller's account was placed on vacation mode.

Eventually, Cardmarket awarded me €100 in goodwill compensation for the situation.

Obviously, I appreciate Cardmarket stepping in and compensating me, but I would have much preferred receiving the actual card.

What bothers me most is that this is a large professional seller, not someone casually selling a few cards from their collection. You would expect a business to keep track of its inventory and take responsibility when something goes wrong. Not to mention, I told him to call the employee and find out where he put the card, and he just repeated that we should talk over the phone.

And while I obviously can't prove anything, I find the whole explanation rather questionable. The card was listed for roughly half its market value, and suddenly, after I purchased it, an employee who supposedly no longer works there had apparently misplaced it somewhere in the shop.

I'm not claiming the seller was lying, but the combination of the suspicious circumstances, repeated requests to call him rather than communicate through Cardmarket, and eventually ignoring my messages didn't exactly inspire confidence.

I'm curious what you all think about this. Has anyone experienced something similar with a professional seller?

Buyer says insured UPS parcel (~€400 order) arrived with no cards, only the order sheet and an AUX cable we never packed. We think it’s a scam. How would you handle this?

Hi all,

We're a professional seller on Cardmarket with 2,000+ completed orders. About 1 in 4 of our parcels ships with UPS (Poste Delivery International Express), always packed the same way: a rigid cardboard box padded with kraft paper and tightly wrapped in opaque black film, or a padded bubble mailer. In two years we've never had a case like this, so we'd really appreciate input from anyone who's been through something similar.

What happened

- Order of 234 cards, about €345 + €41 shipping, so almost €400 in total. Tracked, insured, Trustee Service.

- The buyer is abroad at the moment and asked us in the chat to ship to a family member's address. We did.

- Shipped Oct 4, delivered Oct 9, received by the family member.

- The next day the buyer wrote that the parcel only contained the order sheet and "an accessory" (a boxed 1 m AUX cable). No cards at all. Their photo showed only the sheet and the cable laid out on a table.

- We asked for more photos so we could file a claim with the carrier. The next day we got photos of the box in the black film with large tears, and of the opened box.

- We asked why the parcel was accepted in that condition. The answer: at delivery the tears were "smaller and not easy to notice", nobody checks every little tear, and it's the seller's responsibility to pack properly because "a simple plastic bag is not adequate protection". Then they asked how to get a refund.

We've opened a ticket with Cardmarket and we're filing a claim with the carrier.

Why we're worried

This is a ~€400 order, which is a lot of money for us. We're afraid the carrier will reject the claim because the parcel was accepted without any remark at delivery. If that happens and the buyer gets refunded, we lose both the cards and the money.

What doesn't add up for us

  1. The AUX cable isn't ours. We sell cards and never put anything like that in a parcel.

  2. "The tears were smaller at delivery." Tears don't grow by themselves, so the photos we got don't show the parcel as it was delivered.

  3. "A simple plastic bag." It wasn't. There's a rigid cardboard box with padding inside; the black film is only the outer layer.

  4. The film is wrapped very tight. An opening big enough to take the box out should be hard to miss when you take the parcel.

Why we think it's a scam

Put together, the story doesn't hold up for us: a visibly torn parcel accepted without a word, tears that were "smaller" at delivery, a random cable in the box, and straight away blaming our packaging and asking for a refund. We honestly believe this is a scam attempt. We know parcels can get opened in transit, but in 2,000+ orders with the same packing it has never happened to us, and we don't want to be the ones paying for it.

Our questions

  1. Has anyone had a "parcel arrived empty / contents missing" case on a tracked, insured Trustee order? How did Cardmarket support handle it, and who ended up covering the loss?

  2. Has anyone got a missing-contents claim paid by Poste Delivery International Express / UPS? What evidence did they want (packaging inspection, weights, proof-of-delivery photo...)?

  3. Is there anything else we should ask for or do right now?

  4. For the future: what tamper-evident packing do you use on high-value orders? Security tape, packing videos, something else?

TL;DR: Insured UPS parcel, 234 cards, ~€400 order. Buyer says it arrived with only the order sheet and an AUX cable we never packed. It was accepted despite big tears in the outer film ("they were smaller at delivery"). First time in 2,000+ orders and we believe it's a scam. How did Cardmarket and the carrier handle similar cases for you?

Is there a way to abuse the on vacation status?

Context: I snatched a card for relatively cheap and it absolutely skyrocketed in price around a day after.

The seller tried to cancel the order under the excuse of having made an API error and that they didn't have the card anymore. After a bit of research I was adviced to make use of my rights and cancel the request.

Against all odds, the seller marked the card as sent a day after (tracked shipping), but never provided the tracking number.

A few days have passed and the card was still not delivered and I have no way of knowing where it is or if it was shipped to begin with.

I tried contacting the seller by messaging them and asking for them to add the tracking number and soon after they set their account status to "on vacation".

Now I am being left in the dark about the order status and am wondering if they are trying to buy time and somehow force a cancellation or something in that vein.

Any advice on what I should do?

Am I really the unluckiest seller ever?

I have an account that I opened up for selling a few months ago. All great reviews, not a single issue. Then, all of a sudden, after 25 successful shipments, TWO untracked shipments get lost, and my account ends up with restrictions on untracked shipping.

Am I just the unluckiest person in the world?

Now my account is restricted for the next 75 shipments (2% rule; assuming no more get lost, of course), which will never happen because I sell a lot of trading cards worth just a few cents, and nobody is going to pay €6.50 shipping for a €0.02 card.

I'm literally screwed unless I refund these two orders to get my untracked shipping privileges back.

And what if buyers started taking advantage of this system? Basically, new sellers can't afford to have more than 1 lost shipment out of 50. All someone would have to do is check how many shipments a seller has completed and exploit new sellers like this, pressuring them into issuing refunds if they don't want their accounts to become practically unusable.

Selling [UK SELLER] No longer shipping to EU after Royal Mail 1£ handling fee

Sold a bunch of shipments to EU countries over the last few days, all 2p cards totalling less than 50p in value. As usual I buy my labels on the royal mail website, but for the first time, it's started charging me 1£ in customs handling fees. This means all the EU shipments I did ended up losing me money. I sent them anyways of course, but have no turned off all EU shipments.

Am I doing something wrong potentially? If this is a new rule, which it seems to be the case from quick googling, then surely CM should add that fee onto the charged shipping? I'd still be happy to sell expensive cards to EU and take the hit, but no way of setting that to be the case, and losing 50p everytime I ship bulk isn't ideal.
