In light of what happened to a Bun Owner recently and the loss of life saving information that could aid them in saving their bun, use this post to dump any and all important information you feel ALL Bunny owners should know!
Whether it’s to spot signs of illness, infection, or something else, care for an injury, prevent injury or save a Bunnies life entirely when it hangs in the balance, put all of them here for other bun parents to come across when they need it! It could mean the difference between life and death!

For me I think it’s around $500+ because of his first vet visit being $200 already and then his setup and ofc HIM 😅😓…
Had to drive 4 hours to get him so the gas prices weren’t nice to me.
(Worth it tho)

This is a felted bunny I recently made in memory of Max. 🌈
Max has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and his family wanted to find another way to keep him close.
His mom once described him to me like this:
“Max was my first pet that I had full responsibility for and he was definitely my soul bunny. I’ve never seen another bunny quite like him.”
His fur had such unique markings, with gray and white scattered unevenly across his body. But what stood out to me the most were his beautiful blue eyes with their tiny pupils.
Max’s mom also sent me some of the fur he left behind. I carefully incorporated some of his real fur into the sculpture, so this little bunny would carry a tiny piece of Max with him.
We can’t turn back time or truly hold on to the ones who have left us. But with our hands, we can turn the love, memories, and little details that made them who they were into something we can touch, look at, and keep close for years to come.
Max found his way home in another form.
Rest in parsley, sweet Max. 🤍🐰🥬

i took your guys advice and well fed him on hay, got a little bit of greens, some rabbit food as well and some water all throughout the day slowly now giving me his late night kiss.
and on his brother Yin (he basically eats anything and everything, zooms around my house and naps anywhere slightly above room temperature lol ) so i would assume he is showing good signs of settling in my home
thank you for everyone who helped me with my boys :)

Why does he keep licking my bedsheets and pillows? 😭😭 he’s done it in my brothers room as well. I saw somewhere it means he’s grooming me and thinks my sheets are me but he won’t lick me just my sheets.

Hi all im looking for some help regarding our buns new (OPEN) pen. We have to have them in there throughout the night as hes very mischievous come nighttime haha
We have places mats down but he keeps digging it up and eating bits of it over night! as you can see if photo. I cannot think of anything to help pin it down i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. We tuck it right under his little hut everyday where the corner isnt visible (comes outside of pen) but he just goes at it and gets it eventually.
I would appreciate any recommendations please! Thanks 🐰

Turned out my girl had too small uterine and it was attached closely to the abdomen. Why vet told me they could do the spay but they rather wait a few more months to decrease the chance of internal bleeding. Of course I pick the safer alternative but she will still need time to heal. Sadly it was noticed after they had cut her open at the operation table, so she will still need time to heal.
So I will keep on having my hormonal girl around us and next time we will go for the spay. I still need to nurse her back to health and we will book a new appointment in 4 months.
At least I’m only paying half the price because of the time, tests and medicine for the unsuccessful spay.

I'll move to a rental apartment for college. I want my bunny to roam around the house freely when I'm not home, or atleast roam around in his own room until I come back. What should I pay attention to? How can I keep my cables and bunny safe? Should I be mindful about any items? I don't know anything.

Hey, this isn't a medical assistance post, It's the opposite because it's confirmed by the vet that nothing is wrong with my rabbit, I'm curious if my situation is common.
My 7 years old bun's ear has suddenly become floppy a couple of weeks ago, it has never happened before.
We went to an exotic vet that confirmed that they can find nothing wrong besides Malassezia(fungi) in the ears, which we received drops for 20 days for treatment.
The treatment is almost over and there has no improvement with the ear, however besides that, the bun is functioning completely normal, eating pooping roaming ect..
The vet says besides checking post treatment if the drops have helped, there is nothing else to treat because nothing is wrong with the bun, it is healthy. While I trust the vet with my own life ( he is very experienced and has been treating my bun's life their whole life), my instincts just can't accept that a rabbit can undergo such change without anything else being wrong.
Is it common for seniors rabbits to just because one-ear-flopped?
Thank you :)

My bun Snuffie injured her paw some time ago. We went to the vet and the vet told us she should stay confined for 3 to 4 weeks and receive pain meds. They didn't take any pictures so from just the outside it was not possible to tell if anything was broken. It was a matter of waiting and seeing if it heals on its own (with pain meds).
So I set up an x-pen around their hutch. They have a 2-story hutch that is always open, but the vet didn't allow her to go up the ramp so I removed the ramp. She has about 2 by 1.5m of space, and I (for now) decided to put the other bun with her so that they can stay together.
Snuffie's paw seems to be healing very well, as she started to use it normally again about 3 days after the vet visit. We are now at 10 days after the vet visit, so she still should be confined for at least 11 days.
But here's my problem: both bunnies are making it very clear they want to get out and they are destroying everything. They are chewing the bars and pulling them back and forth. They have these fleece+pastic mats as flooring which they have destroyed. Most of the pieces are still scattered around so they don't actively eat it, but I am afraid that they do ingest some of it. Yesterday evening Snuffie stood on her hind legs and actually reached a zip tie that I use to keep the fencing together (on top of the usual attachment, as they are actively pulling on the bars). Very quickly she chewed trough the zip tie and then she ate part of it (I am keeping an eye on her but it looks like it is not going to be a problem). They also have a plastic cover underneath the mats that they started chewing on.
I am now just constantly worrying that they ingest too much bad stuff. So I called the vet asking if she could be allowed out already given that her paw seems to be doing so well, and the answer was no as it could still be a fracture and the problem could quickly become worse if she is already let out. Advice was to see if I could provide more enrichment.
So does anyone here have any extra tips on enrichment? They already have chewing sticks and a willow ball with hay in it. Also stacking cups, which they ignore after unstacking them. Snuffie is not allowed to jump onto anything high so everything has to be at one level, but jumping into her litter box is fine.
I am thinking of doing some more clicker training with them which they haven't done for a while, but I am especially looking for enrichment for when I cannot actively participate. Thank you very much!

The other day I cut my wonder nugget’s nail too short and she was bleeding. that was first time ever doing that in the 5.5 years I’ve had her. I literally sobbed and kept apologizing. Heck, I’m still apologizing and she’s totally fine now, I applied pressure and put a little all purpose flour on it and she kicked her back feet at me while hopping away. The day it happened, she was just mildly annoyed at me but didn’t hold a grudge. It’s like she knew it was an accident and was trying to comfort ME! She’s the sweetest loaf and I’m so incredibly happy she’s apart of my life. Earlier today, I asked her if I could check her nubs (what I call her two front paws) and tried to reach for them. She pulled them back and hopped away. I thought she was mad at me and said “I just want to make sure you’re ok”, and she turned around and started digging at the carpet with her injured nub for like a bit before turning around and just starting at me….i swear she did that to let me know that she was in fact ok.
I laughed so hard and she came running over and gave me kisses. I swear she knows what I’m saying lmao.
I love my Wonder so much and just wanted to share this with others bc everyone around me is sick of hearing about her but I can’t help it! She truly is amazing! 🥹
It’s gonna hurt so bad once it’s her time. I’ll never be ready omfg.
