Hello, y'all. I'm back. You may recall a few weeks ago were doing a poll to determine the best and worst Vault Hunters in the series and made it up through nearly top 10. And then... they stopped. What happened?

I got perma banned from the sub without warning or reason. I didn't think I broke any rules but I never heard back from the Mod team what happened. Eventually, some folks started reaching out to me to ask what happened, and even messaged the mods as well and made some posts here, which I greatly appreciate. I did eventually hear back that I was banned for Spamming which auto-mod assumed meant I was a bot so I had everything restricted.

So now that I'm back, will the polls continue? No.

The mods asked that the polls do not resume, and so we have to fill in the pieces of what's left. Before we do that, a question a lot of people had was "what are we even voting on?" I left that intentionally vague cause I wanted people to vote for what they deemed most important. If you felt a characters gameplay was paramount above all, I wanted you to vote for that, same as if you thought it was their personality, story, looks, or everything combined. In the end, the thing that ended up matter most to people was gameplay, but also story and personality. Those with more interesting skills, a greater impact on the lore, and cool voice lines ultimately lasted longer than those without. And to that end, the results for the polls was as follows:

1. Wilhelm. Many people found playing as a level 16 boss uninteresting and he was largely voted out first for his character.

2. Roland. Though Roland was one of the more important characters in the series, many people felt he had the single lamest ability and skill tree in the entire series

3. Axton. The solider class continues to prove unpopular as many people didn't care for his turrets, and found him the least interesting BL2 Vault Hunter in terms of personality

4. Aureila. Largely due to people not liking her character, nor one of her trees being largely worthless in single player.

5. Brick. After the soldier class, another thing that proved unpopular was melee characters, with Brick having the least interesting gameplay of that group. This one was extremely controversial as many people love Brick as a character

6. Claptrap. The randomness of his ability is what put off most people here, plus the fact that he's Claptrap

7. Gaige. Her ability proved too inconsistent for many players, with a lot of people noting it was frustrating to play as her at times

8. Nisha. Not really much to say here other than people not liking that she killed Brick's dog. This was sort of the turning point for people when the polls started to become a lot more difficult

9. Salvador. Lots of players noted he made the game feel too easy, and that his ability wasn't anything super creative or unique.

10. Mordecai. Another BL1 Vault Hunter falls mainly due to his ability not holding up as well as those who came after him

11. Lilith. The last BL1 Vault Hunter standing, mainly due to her character and impact on the story. Many people agreed she was the most fun character in BL1

12. Amon. Another melee focused character falls, though many voters felt people only remember back when he wasn't very good rather than how he is currently

13. Harlowe. Really not much to say here, just the weakest of the remaining options

14. Athena. Same as Harlowe though ranked higher due to her character and impact on the story

15. Amara. People found her the least likeable of the BL3 bunch but that was basically it.

And that's where we left off. As for who would've taken spot number 11, it seems like Rafa and Loveless were up next. The former people felt was the most generic of the BL4 bunch and latter people also found bland as a character.

So who would've won? This is purely theory at this point but based on the votes and comments, this is how I *think* the polls would've gone: Rafa would've been 11, then Loveless 10. Number 9 likely would've been Moze to eliminate the last of the soldiers, Number 8 for Jack purely cause people don't seem to care much for the Pre-Sequel bunch, Number 7 I think would've been C4sh as some people were let down by his personality but still enjoyed him as a character. Numbers 6, 5, and 4 would be between Maya, Zer0 and Vex and are too close for me to call between. 3 would've been Krieg as many people love him as a character and his story and likely only would've been held back by his melee focused gameplay

And the finals would've likely been Zane vs Fl4k. Ultimately, I think Zane would've won. He consistently got very few votes and I don't think I ever saw a single comment for him. I think Fl4k's abilities would've ultimately fallen below Zane for a second place finish overall

Hey! Over time since Loveless launched, the Soup Kitchen Discord Server has been compiling a growing list of Mechanics, Fomulas, General Info, Bugs etc. about the character.

This list was previously a private document, as we were mainly just using it as a notebook while digging through the curse that ensued, but I have now fully transferred it into a Mobalytics Written Guide for complete public access, and I intend to keep it updated whenever I find the time for it.

Loveless is a very different character to BL4's usual. In many ways, she's very BL3-esque but stuck with the terrible gear limitations of BL4. She is also very buggy and has a fair amount of unlisted or non-functional effects, or things that work altogether differently than implied (an example is the High Data Rate skill, which has 2 very unlisted and very powerful features, both of them being quite nonsensical, but one really goes the extra mile).

You can find information about such Passives, Skills, Action Skills, Augments, Class Mods and all the rest in the guide. You may find plenty of this very useful if you're even vaguely familiarized with the Damage Formula mechanics in BL4 and/or want to do some buildcrafting of your own, or even to just try to make some sense of things.

As in, she is MR TORGUE HIGH FIVE FLEXINGTON'S child. At least one of them.

Here is my thinking:

Originally with Torgue

1. Complains of the "we're a family corporate junk" and that
2. "we're Torguers" was a thing that was said in house. Think "We're Joneses!" Or "O'Doyle Rules!"
3. This isn't 100% open and shut because she doesn't talk about TORGUE Corp using the "family" lingo directly but to me it is implied she's heard it A LOT.

She has intimate knowledge of the Vault Hunters.

1. Can be attributed to fan-girling but I thinks it's likely that she met some of the BL2 VH's as a child. At the very least her 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon is very short. She is writing fan-fic about Axton and she idolizes Gaige in particular.
2. Her Session 35 Echo recording regarding Gaige gives the backstory to this idolization
3. Call log 82B with sister Portia shows her deeper knowledge of all the VH's leading up to current day.

1. details the F/M/K scenario when talking about the BL1 Vault Hunters
2. When saying she'd kill Brick she says "Yeah, I know, I'm just not into muscles you know. I'm not like mom, pfft you know that." I think sis was expressing surprise and this tells us something about dad at least through mom's proclivities. This I think is what puts the other pieces in perspective

Outgoing Call 44A with her mother Janet.

1. Mom casually asks if she would have heard of the new VH. This could be a mom asking about a celebrity except mom tells Lt. Harmony to say "Hi" to the new VH.
2. Implying encountering VH likely and kinda normal.
3. The "if they don't kill me" was I think not something mom said but that Lt. Harmony injected based on her understanding of the situation.

So I think Lindsay Harmony is a child of MR. TORGUE. So far as we know her name isn't Lindsay Harmony Flexington but we didn't get MR. TORGUE'S full name right out of the gate either and if she is illegitimate or unclaimed in some manner she may just have her mother's surname.

What does this mean? Probably nothing. Possibly that they are setting her up as a future NPC. I don't think we've ever met someone in person, that later became a playable VH, with the exception of The Pre-Sequel. So while it's possible she'd be a playable Torgue VH I don't think it's likely.

It was fun to think about and if you are reading this Gearbox and you like it, HELL YEAH! Bring me onboard. This is how the GoT guys got the green light from GRRM right?

I've got some feedback to share and few more ideas we could kick around. Maybe a DLC where MR. TORGUE repairs a relationship with his estranged children?

Also, bring back my girl Moze por favor.

Just picked up a Phosphene Darkbeast from Voraxis

I'm returning to the game after a long break , and I wanted to know if there's a way to level up pretty fast in the early game. I'm lvl 13 and playing as cash (startrd a new character as him) on normal i just kinda feel under powered I'm running a totem build because I like the sentry playstyle

Edit: I realize now that no one would be actually interested in this cause you can just save edit it in. I was farming a triple bypass for my loveless before I got burnt out and wanted to play the 1.0 release of enshrouded that releases today. It just dropped...that was all.

Hey VH's,

I have been seeing various builds around gloam, and while building a stable gloam build using Elemental gun + hot hand + their Nothing Beats Lead procs of gloam is well understood, I wanted to ask about some of the other attempts to loop specializations like Groundbreaker into the mix. In particular, Moxsy posted this video a couple of weeks back where he employs the Mighty 9 totem to trigger groundbreaker with guns - a nutty strategy. Not only that, but he uses a build that only uses 4/5 into Turn of Fate.

In my testing, using the same weapons, 5/5 Turn of Fate (skimped on a point in the totem uptime skill), a perfect Windrider class mod, and a double siphon super soldier I get very inconsistent results. 1 of 3 things happens.

1. (Most common) I roll a 9 after building groundbreaker and a MASSIVE chunk of damage from groundbreaker happens, but then my overshield tanks instantly to 0 and is unable to return to full and the build chokes itself.

2. (Less common) I roll a 9 before building groundbreaker and it does bursts of damage while my overshield quickly drains to 0 and enters the same choked failure mode as 1.

3. (Rare) I roll a 9 before or after building groundbreaker and deal enormous amounts of damage with my overshield sustaining itself the the combat loop works flawlessly.

I have noticed a similar inconsistent pattern when I attempted to use the Watts 4 Dinner shield on this build, and before I even tried the Mighty 9 method I had a feeling I would see this again due to the bonus incendiary melee gloam instances that would be coming with it. Has anybody observed these failure modes, and more importantly can anybody highlight the nature of the inconsistency? I would almost prefer that it always fail or always succeed, the inconsistency is a huge part of the mystery here for me.

Not a terrible roll either

I got two pearls today already! The submachine gun is one of the very first pearls I got. I think I have one at level 16. It’s really one of my favourite guns in the game. I’m so glad I found it at level 70.

I can’t seem to find the last echo log. I need only one more trophy for this dlc any recommendations on how to finish this?

Did they remove the elemental varieties for the heimdahl in willis' loot pool? If they haven't, I have some extraordinarily bad luck. I've been trying for an incendiary since I first killed him, and all I've seen is around 8-9 kinetics

Is there some requirement to do Child of Terramorphous other than beating the campaign? I'm in the endgame and I'm able to pick up the other two raid bosses but when I go to Child of Terramorphous it says "Can't Use" and there is a question mark over it. I checked I have everything downloaded as well on Ps5.

I’m a longtime Borderlands fan. Played a bit of B4 when it was on the “free play days” on Xbox a few weeks ago and had some fun with it. The super deluxe edition, the one that includes all the dlc characters and what not, is on sale right now for 60 bucks.

Do you believe that it’s worth it at that price for everything, even with the state the game is in?
