Seeking long-term book buddies 40F reading mostly contemporary romcoms

Looking for people who are 30+ and enjoy reading funny and emotional romance books. For example, some of my favourite authors are Alexis Hall, Anita Kelly and Alicia Thompson. I read other genres too, but that is the main one I read. The genres I don't read are dark romance, horror, thrillers, true crime, any book that is mostly sad, dark, or violent.

We don't need to read the same book at the same time, just be able to talk in general, discuss books that we liked, or we didn't; and I want to become friends in general too.

Please contact me if you're very friendly and talkative, and if you use Discord mainly to interact. And also please pay attention to the age requirement, and to the fact that I want to be able to discuss funny/happy emotional books.

I live in Europe but I don't mind talking with people in other time zones.

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for female book buddy | IST

• Upvotes

Hey! I’m 25M from India, looking for a book buddy who might turn into a genuine friend! 📚☕️
I mostly read romance, classics, and romantasy. Some of my favourites are The Cruel Prince series, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Funny story, Kafka on the shore and many more.
Currently reading Fourth Wing, and PLEASE, if you’ve read it or are reading it too, I need someone to scream about Violet and Xaden with because I’m losing my mind and have no one to talk to about them. 😭
Would love to discuss books, share recommendations, judge fictional characters together, and occasionally get sidetracked into the most random conversations. 🫶🏻
If that sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to DM me! 💕

Seeking long-term book buddies Looking for a reading buddy

• Upvotes

Why do old people wake up early even when they go to sleep late? If you know the answer, I think we’ll get along.

Hi! 23F here. I’m looking for someone to read and discuss books with since none of my friends are really into reading.

I’m open to pretty much any topic or genre, although I usually prefer nonfiction. I’m happy to read in both English and Arabic, but I’d especially love to read more in Arabic because I absolutely love Arabic literature.

Some authors I like are Dostoevsky, Gibran Khalil Gibran, and Al-Manfaluti.

I also enjoy music, so feel free to share your favourite artists and songs with me.

I’d love to exchange recommendations, share our thoughts, and discuss interesting ideas or random questions along the way. We could read the same book together or just share what we’re currently reading.

Send me a message telling me a little about yourself and some of your favourite books or what you enjoy reading. :)

Seeking long-term book buddies Beginner reader looking for a book buddy 📚🙂

Hey everyone!

I'm a complete beginner who recently got into reading, so I'm still exploring this whole bookish world and figuring out what I enjoy.

I'm mostly interested in nonfiction — books that teach me something, help me understand people and the world better, or give me a new perspective on life.

But I'm not completely against fiction! If you're the kind of person who gets ridiculously enthusiastic about fictional characters, and makes me feel like I'm missing out on the greatest story ever written, there's a good chance you'll convince me to read it. 😂 I'm very much open to being influenced by passionate readers.

I'm looking for a book buddy who can guide me as I explore reading, recommend books, exchange thoughts, and have those discussions.

I'm just hoping to meet someone curious, open-minded, and enthusiastic about sharing what they love. We can learn things together, disagree about ideas, exchange recommendations, and hopefully become good friends along the way.

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Looking for a casual, no-stress book buddy (26M)

Not trying to set strict targets or to become better at reading. Nobody in my circle really reads, and I got tired of chatting with these dead llm's about books.

Just looking for someone to trade random blind recommendations with, chat about good plots or prose, and discover unexpected favorites or the opposite of it too.

I read all over the place. Currently finishing The Witcher series, but I also jump between classics/existential works (Fitzgerald, Camus, Kafka, Dostoevsky, Oscar Wilde, etc.), mysteries (Agatha Christie, Doyle), and cozy reads (The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery, and many random books, the only type of books that I prefer in audio form).

Down for buddy reads or just trading updates whenever we finish a book.

Seeking long-term book buddies 33F book baddies and besties?! anyone want to the read along with me?

Id love to read along with someone! Currently starting the witch and on a quiet street but I'm open to all genres! I'll read anything. Depends on my mood entirely. I go through phases lol. I also just want to talk in general as well..about anything and everything. Become besties and all that 💕 I'm also into baking, working out, crafts/DIY, binge watching shows and movies, taking little trips.

I'm a talkative girly and love to chat. Doesn't have to be books, but would love to vent about a character that's making me want to throw a book at a wall. Share pics of what we're cooking, vent about some tea that's brewing, uplift each other and be real with each other. Down for it all :) feel free to reach out if this sounds like something you'd be down for!!

Seeking long-term book buddies Romance book buddies!!

Hi!

40F. I would love some long term book buddies to read romance with. I’m not picky. If it’s romance I will read it.

I am not a super fast reader and my toxic book trait is I read 5-8 books at a time. But I also have a lot going on so I don’t have a ton of time to read like I used to.

I would love someone to buddy read with or gush about books!

Seeking long-term book buddies 32F looking for a book buddy 📚

Hi! 32F and looking for someone who enjoys reading as much as I do I’d love to find a book buddy I can talk to about what we’re reading, share recommendations, and occasionally do a buddy read with.
I mainly read fantasy, but lately I’ve also been getting into mystery and romance. I listen to audiobooks pretty often, too, so those definitely count!
I’d love to talk about books, but I’m also happy to chat about everyday life, random thoughts, or whatever else comes up. Basically, a friendship where we can talk about our books and life in general.
I’m open to any gender, and you don’t have to read the same genres as me. It would be nice to discover new books through each other’s recommendations!
If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to message me and tell me what you’re currently reading or what book you can’t stop recommending.

Book in progress 32F Reading The Secret History

Amidst all my historical romance and fantasy, I like to throw in a challenge outside my comfort zone. My current pick (I’m about 70% of the way through) is The Secret History. I love it so far and I think I’m picking up what the book is putting down, but I’m also sure there are many different ways to come at it. Would love to discuss with anyone who’s read or wants to read! It’s fresh in my brain so I have all the thoughts!

Seeking long-term book buddies 27 M need a book buddy who’s open to whimsy + philosophy

Currently reading Trouble With Lichen by John Wyndham…
It’s pretty tame..
We don’t have to read the same book. I’m mostly looking for company.
It doesn’t have to stop at reading either, it can also be writing!

But I plan to read more books that deal with philosophy and horror…

Starting a book Looking for a book buddy IST prefer | Female | 26

Hi! I'm trying to start a new book but have been procrastinating a lot. I think it'd help to have meetings and discussions.

Preference: Female (25 to 30). This is because I can relate more.

Also, if you're from Delhi, that'd be amazing. We can hang out, discuss, and go for bookstore hopping!

Hi guys, I have a book club running on substack that doubles as a newsletter. We’ve been going strong for a little over a month now, but I’m looking for more engagement in the book club side of things. If you’d like to read non fiction books breaking down social and political theory and systems, and actively participate in discussions about the books, please consider joining us! My goal is connection, education and talking real life solutions.

It’s completely free, full access. Paid subscription is optional for people who’d like to support my labor. If you’re interested in something like this, joining an intimate community of left wingers & feminists who enjoy human rights and yapping about the world, join us! I always love making new friends!

Comment down below or direct message me if you’re interested and I’ll send you the info!

Suggesting book for buddy read Buddy Read of The Brothers Karamazov

Hello,
I’m 30F, and as per title, looking for someone to buddy read The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky with. I’ve read most of his other major titles and some lesser known ones too in preparation, and now am finally ready to tackle the magnum opus.
I have the Penguin Classics David McDuff translation into English.
I am planning to read this one very slowly, maybe a chapter a day, and would love to share thoughts on chat as we go along.
Would prefer someone who has not read it before, and someone who is also female, but am flexible.
DM if interested!

EDIT:
Thank you kindly to everyone who responded (also
had DMs off so sincerest apologies for missing those message requests). I’ve found my book buddy but it seems lots of people have just started or are looking to start this book, so please feel free to use the comments on this post to match up. Happy reading all!
