Black Author A Shadow at the Altar — Charmed meets the black church
Hey everyone! I’m an indie author, and I wanted to share my debut fantasy novel, A Shadow at the Altar, Book One of The Harmonies of Nature Saga.
This story follows three young Black men connected by extraordinary elemental powers, each with their own abilities, struggles, and destinies. Set against the backdrop of Detroit, the story blends urban fantasy, supernatural mysteries, brotherhood, and the challenges of discovering who you really are.
One of the biggest inspirations behind this story is my own experience growing up in church. I wanted to take elements of that experience and reimagine them through a fantasy lens, exploring faith, identity, power, and what happens when the world you grew up knowing turns out to be more complicated than you imagined.
As for the cover, I understand that everyone’s tastes are different. If it’s not for you, that’s completely cool! You’re entitled to your opinion, but the cover is staying. I chose a visual style that represents the energy and imagination behind my story, and I’m proud of what I’m creating. These characters are literally three different versions of myself
At the end of the day, I’m excited to share this world with readers who enjoy Black-led fantasy, supernatural powers, and stories inspired by real-life experiences. Thanks for giving my book a chance! ❤️📖
