I applied for a position at Kernel only once a month ago, yet they sent a rejection email three times at different times, after 1 month.
The message was identical, simply copied and pasted.
I may feel a degree of irritation. The situation seems unreasonable, not the emails but the process, they asked people to apply for the job with care and attention while they failed to complete a single task properly.
It is quite a contradiction when the CEO uses social media to boast about treating people with respect.

People will work themselves into the ground, spend half their income surviving, defend a system that gives them barely any breathing room, and then look down on someone who's unemployed or working a basic job as if suffering less makes them morally inferior.
Apparently, being exhausted, financially stressed, and having no time to enjoy your own life is something to be proud of, as long as you can tell everyone you work hard.
If your entire identity revolves around working hard just to afford to exist, maybe you're not winning at life. Maybe you've just become really good at tolerating it.

For context: this happened on top of Rosebank, turning into Blockhouse Bay Rd. The bus lane ended way before; the lane the bus is in is left-turn only. So he cuts in front of traffic. There was only one car behind us.
"Yea he indicated (and now we have to give way)", "yea he had no room", or "nah, that's stupid"?
Genuine question, since nothing surprises me in Auckland anymore.
Edit: It's the 22R Bus, and the clock is an hour behind (now fixed for DST because we didn't notice before)

Hi everyone, I’m a 17 year old girl trying to find a good place to get an IUD that is also not going to cost a whole bunch. I’m fine with paying a little bit. I’m not sure about going to sexual wellbeing as I’ve heard some things. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. I’m located in north Auckland but happy to travel around Auckland for it. Thank you ☺️

Kia ora koutou,
I've bagged myself a new job in the CBD and am looking at using the train for as my main commute because parking is expensive.
The walking commute alone will be 20 minutes each way to get to the stations. And I'm lazy. But I'm not spend-$40-a-day-for-parking lazy.
So I'm looking at ways that'll help speed that up.
AT advises not to take bikes on trains during peak hours. My question is: how packed can it get?
My preference is an e-bike because on sunny days I can just bike down the northwestern cycleway, and cold or wet days I could take the bike on the train.
If it's going to be impossible to take an e-bike on during peak, my other thoughts are:
* Folding bike (slightly longer commute if I cycle the whole way vs. e-bike, but I can take it with me on the train)
* E-scooter (unlikely I'd be able to ride it all the way to the office due to the distance, but very portable for the train).

Feel like the egregiousness of the Northern motorway Mt Eden view shaft isn't discussed enough.

I’m planning to move to Auckland from India for my studies, and my wife is hoping to come with me. My college is near the CBD, so we’re trying to work out where we could live and what our everyday routine might look like.
We’re researching accommodation and transport, but it’s hard to judge what daily life is actually like as a couple. We’d prefer somewhere with a manageable commute to the CBD, access to groceries and public transport, and rent that won’t take up too much of our monthly budget. We’re open to living outside the city centre if the commute is practical.
For people who live or have studied in Auckland, what has worked well for you? Are there particular areas students often overlook? What should we check before signing a rental agreement, and what costs beyond rent surprised you? I’d also appreciate any advice on getting around without a car and settling in during the first few weeks.
We’re still planning and comparing options, so personal experiences would help us understand what to look for.

Hi guys. i’ve got a online group interview for zara’s christmas casual role. For people who’s have completed one before what is it like?
do they ask individual questions or more scenario based?
are there any unique or out of the box questions I should prepare for?
Or just any tips in general to stand out.

Hi there, I'm visiting Auckland and was wondering if there were any stationery stores that sell fun things like washi tapes, stickers, pens, etc. Basically anything someone who likes journaling can ask for! Thanks 👍🏼

Hey everyone, I’m a University of Auckland computer science graduate based on the North Shore, looking for an entry-level opportunity in IT support, software development, or cloud/infrastructure. I have full NZ work rights.
I’ve been applying for jobs for months without much luck. Applying through Seek and LinkedIn can feel like sending applications into a void — often there isn’t even a rejection email, so it’s hard to know what I should improve.
I also tried Summer of Tech, but was told I wasn’t eligible because my CV showed work experience, even though I’m still looking for my first commercial IT role.
So I’m considering something different: holding a small chalkboard with a short introduction and a few skills, hoping to have some conversations and become more visible to local employers.
My technical background includes C#/.NET, Python, React, Linux, AWS and Docker, developed through projects and home lab learning.
I asked Westfield Albany and PAK’nSAVE for permission, but neither could allow it. A big thank you to the Westfield Albany staff, though — they were really encouraging and offered to pass my CV on to their IT department.
I’m not expecting someone to walk up and offer me my dream job. But after months of applications with little feedback, a conversation or a bit of encouragement genuinely means a lot.
I’d appreciate your thoughts:
Have you tried something like this, or seen it work?
Where could I do this with permission, without blocking paths or bothering people?
For people working in IT, what roles or skills would you suggest I focus on?
Are there other industries or career paths where my background could be useful?
If you’ve tried something similar, would like to join me, or have advice or relevant opportunities to share, feel free to DM me.
Thanks for reading!

Also, on another topic kind of - is there any new retail development planned are the area or just houses?

Hi! It’s a long shot but I have neurofibromatosis(NF1) and I have some neurofibromas and plexiforms that I would like to removed. I have maybe 5 in total, each less than 0.5cm. I wanted to know if anyone knows a place that can do it! I am here on a working holiday visa for 1.5 years still so I am not a resident ( no GP referral ) I’m just fed up and I want to find someone who can remove them ( I’ll pay of course)
Also if anyone else has NF it would be nice to chat to you :)

Me and my partner are moving to Auckland next year (from Wellington)
I will be studying at AUT in Northcote and commuting on my 300cc Vespa (so I will be comfortable doing motorway speeds and will be able to use bus/transit lanes)
The question is, does anyone have experience commuting from say Ponsonby or Grey Lynn over the bridge and back daily? Is it manageable going against the main flow or will we be better live North Shore?
My partner will be able to find work on either side of the bridge.
