Masters of Industrial Design
I am currently considering Auburn for a Master of Industrial Design. I was really curious about how well-structured the program is, considering practical and industry-based skills. Why should one consider studying here?

Shoutout to Roots Management Group for letting us live in a treehouse against our will
galleryJust a little PSA for anyone considering moving into a Roots Management Group property in Auburn, particularly Conway Acres.
There's been a tree lying on our house for AN ENTIRE MONTH.
We own our mobile home but rent the lot. When the tree fell, we contacted management, who assured us they'd get someone out to remove it.
That was over four weeks ago.
I've called every week, sometimes multiple times a week, trying to get any information about when it might be removed. The answer is always some variation of "we're working on it."
Apparently Roots Management Group has ONE approved arborist in the area, and he just... isn't responding to their texts.
That's it. That's the plan. Text the tree guy and hope for the best.
Nobody calls us with updates. Nobody has a timeline. Every week I get to play my favorite game: Call the Property Manager and Find Out Absolutely Nothing.
Meanwhile, our lot rent continues to increase, despite the amenities existing mostly in theory. We have a community pool that hasn't been open in at least two years. At this point, the tree on our roof is the most accessible recreational feature they've provided.
Anyway, if you're considering living in a Roots Management Group community, I'd strongly encourage you to reconsider. Unless you've always dreamed of paying increasing amounts of money to live beneath a tree while a property management company waits for a guy to text them back.

Sublease available, January 2027, private unit
Hi guys I'm looking to sublease my unit at 644 W Magnolia Ave, Mag 1. It's super close to campus and it's a private studio so no roommates. The rent is $1115/month and it includes parking, internet, and bills besides electricity (typically $30-$40/month). The parking is especially nice during game days. The complex has a laundry room and a 24 hour gym.
I am also open to leaving it furnished, since I'll be going to Austin and I can't really take it with me. Let me know! End date is July 2027 but I'm flexible for May 2027 if it's more convenient for you. I also have photos, DM me if you're interested.

The Alabama Forestry Commission has opened applications for the Southern Pine Beetle Assistance and Prevention Program. For those who need their pine stands thinned, this may be a good option to consider. Reach out to your local AFC office with any questions.

Take online math classes as a transient student?
My daughter needs Math 1150 (or the equivalent, math 1120 + math 1130) for her COSAM major. She scored a 48 on the ALEKS test and didn't have time to retake it and doesn't have time in addition to her double science/double lab schedule to study for it on the side. She is debating taking math over the summer so she can get it done and not have to do it in addition to her science-heavy course load. She is wondering whether she could start in math 120 (the Alabama community college equivalent of math 1120) because the advisor she spoke with said they don't make you take a placement test as a transient student. She's also wondering whether it makes sense to do two mini sessions over the summer (mth 120 + mth 130) or if that would be too difficult (she is not great at math, she can cram for it and get a decent grade but then she forgets it like 2 seconds later which is why she bombed ALEKS).
The next question is, does anyone have experience with the different community colleges whose classes you can take as a transient student ? I see a lot of posts about Southern Union and Snead. How are their online math classes? Do they factor in homework grades as part of your grade or is almost all test dependent? Also, how are the professors and the learning modules they produce? I would think that online math would need to be very clearly explained, have good online support, and have a good platform so it's easy to use. Has anyone had personal experience with Snead or SUSS or another school? Also, would it be too much to cram both classes into one summer? She would prefer not to take these at Auburn and during the regular school year as she already needs to be getting volunteer/clinical hours for her major and there are only so many hours in a day.

Naturist
Looking for couples to start a Christian naturist group in the Opelika area. This is non- sexual. Just curious if there is any interest? We can have Bible studies, walking trails, play Cornhole, hot tub, watch TV, and just chat and of course eat. We also could take boating trips to Lake Martin.

Does anyone remember this from the 90s?
Back in the 90s when I went to Auburn there was an Irish Pub off of Toomers corner that sold a wonderful lunch sandwich call the sheleighly. Best I can remember it was about a half inch of sliced turkey and another of sliced ham sandwiching cheddar cheese and bacon . They dip it in a beer batter and fry it . Served with honey mustard . Can anyone confirm this recipe or remember ? I was thinking about trying to make it.

Parking for extended amount of time during week / weekend
Me and a few friends are meeting up in Auburn and going on a trip from Thursday until Monday. Does anyone know a place I could park my car where I won’t get ticketed or towed? Thanks!
