Mongol history has numerous examples of warrior women and female military leaders, from Chinggisid princesses to non-Chinggisid noblewomen. Many of their deeds were recorded in contemporary Persian, Arabic, Chinese, and Tibetan sources.
1. An unnamed mongol woman at Maragha, 1221
During the Mongol sack of Maragha, in present-day Iran, the historian Ibn al-Athir recorded an extraordinary incident involving a mongol woman.According to his account, she entered a house, killed several inhabitants, and captured a man. The people inside initially believed she was male.
However, when she laid down her weapons, her identity became apparent. The man she had captured then took advantage of the situation and killed her.Unfortunately, the chronicler recorded neither her name nor her ancestry.
2. An unnamed daughter of Chinggis Khan ,1221
During the Mongol conquest of Khwarazm, a Mongol commander named Toghachar Güregen was killed while besieging Nishapur.According to Juvayni, Toghachar's widow, a daughter of Chinggis Khan, subsequently entered the captured city with her armed entourage and supervised the killing of its remaining inhabitants.
She was apparently taking revenge for her husband's death.
3. Khutulun (Хотулун) ,c. 1260–1307
Probably the most famous mongol warrior princess, also known as Temür Ökin (Төмөр охин, “Iron Girl”). She was the daughter of Qaidu Khan, an Ögedeid ruler and great-grandson of Chinggis Khan.
Marco Polo famously described her wrestling prospective husbands for horses, a legend that inspired her portrayal in Netflix's Marco Polo, played by Claudia Kim.
Beyond the wrestling stories, Khutulun participated in her father's campaigns and commanded her own thousand-man military unit. After Qaidu's death in 1301, she supported her brother Orus in the succession struggle. Around 1307, Duwa Khan's forces attacked her encampment and killed her husband and two sons. Khutulun also disappears from the historical record around this time.
I’ve added more context and additional examples in the comments, since including everything in the main post would make it excessively long.
