I was at lunch, two of my friends were talking to each other, then I heard one of them say “(name) said you kissed another man” while looking at me. I was confused, obviously, I am a aroace male in a group of straight women, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM LAST YEAR, AND ALSO ON MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS I AM AROACE. also that friend keeps calling me gay, even now.

parents brought up crushes and asked me what gender i prefer. i replied that i don't experience romantic love and immediately got shut down, saying that attraction is normal instead of listening to me. i left the conversation and immediately went to my room. im upstairs as they discuss about my sexuality, making assumptions based on the media they saw me interact with. this isn't how i imagined coming out tbh—tbf i havent imagined coming out to them at all. i knew it would be hard since their generation has an outdated view on romance and whatnot, but it hurt me—i didnt know it would, but here i am crying as i type this down. ive always had doubts on my sexual orientation due to fear of change, but i feel nothing but invalidation now. they're still talking, most likely about which race i prefer (weird) based on the movies/shows i watch. i wish i had been better at hiding my interests then maybe they wont have anything to dig into. im already secretive but i guess not enough for them to stop babbling nonsense. all of this was written due to burst of emotions so i mightve overreacted or wtv

Advice Is this normal for aroace?

So I identify as aroace. But whenever someone ships me with someone else, I like to imagine myself in that relationship (and sorta want that relationship??) although in reality, it would probably be a platonic thing. No idea why, but it's something I do. But I know I'm definitely ace. So... is it normal for aroace or is it something else?
