I had preordered the Vampire Princess Miyu blu ray from MediaOCD and was excited to receive it, but the slipcover came misprinted (misaligned, cut off on the top, and tilted - obviously a mistake and simple/cheap to replace).

I emailed them and their customer service person stated that rather than sending a replacement, I would need to make an additional purchase so they could package a replacement slipcover with it, as they refuse to send a replacement on its own. I'm very disappointed by this, as I've already spent the money on a faulty product and feel they are trying to milk more money out me rather than remedy their poor quality control. My additional concern is that if I make another purchase and they send another obviously misprinted slipcover, then I'll be out of luck and have spent additional money for nothing.

Has anyone else had similarly negative experiences with them? I know it's just a slipcover, but I was so excited for this item, and this experience makes me not want to support them moving forward. The customer service guy is also dismissive, offers no explanation for why they can't just send a replacement (I have asked), and acts like he's doing me a favor by offering to send another one if I give them more money.

Started collecting a few months ago, about half are local finds and the other half are ebay/online retailer finds. Pls send any suggestions for other series that would... fit into this collection. (Unfortunately it is difficult to get certain series due to Australian import crackdowns)

I cant seem to find any reviews of the recently released 4k disc in North America. Can anyone who has it compare it to the regular bluray release? Just wondering if its worth getting for the HDR or just get the cheaper bluray.

I was never into collecting dvds growing up, but I've always been a big physical media fan. My focus was moreso on collecting games and manga though, and with how expensive anime dvds/blu rays have always been it just never interested me much.

But in May this year I got my hands on one Wolf's Rain dvd (you don't have to tell me it's just a bunch of recaps, I learned the hard way 😭) and the complete Trinity Blood series from someone at a con, selling them for really cheap. Looking back on it now, they had a lot more to sell and I should've grabbed more but they were all series I was unfamiliar with and I had already spent so much on merch. Yknow how it is at cons lmao (no regrets tho).

With the state of everything nowadays and the push towards a digital future and the insistence from greedy corporations that you don't own anything you buy- safe to say, after getting my hands on these first two dvds it made me wanna start collecting some of my favorite shows, so that I can truly own them and be sure no one will take them away from me. The top 3 anime that I constantly go back to rewatch are soul eater, fma brotherhood and bungo stray dogs. Now 2 out of 3 of those are impossible to get, but soul eater was thankfully within reach and affordable. As for the last two, they're my most recent purchase from this month from amazon's prime days.

I know that October isn't even half over, but I already know I won't be picking up more titles for the rest of this month. Had way more expenses than usual. So no haul, just a pickup for October.

Wanted to get this because I heard Mike McFarland passed away. I heard good things about it prior, but only recently learned that he was the lead for this series. Some of my favourite performances by him are Ritsu Sohma from Fruits Basket, Jean Havoc from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ryouji "Ranka" Fujioka from Ouran High School Host Club. May he rest in peace. ❤️

I have a ton of anime dvds and blu rays wondering if anyone here has insured their collection and if so who did you go with for insurance and how much it cost

So I was going through my collection and noticed something about my Squid Girl- collection that has raised some concerns.

First things first, I just finished watching the whole show today. The box and discs are in good condition, the cover quality is really sharp and the text on the box is very easy to read. The image quality within the show is really good, the sound is also spot on. Both sub and dub work (sub uses the basic yellow text that every other blu-ray does, with things like signs and products being also well subtitled while using a built in font.) Also the menus and bonus content work with no issues.

Well what's the problem? I live in Europe and yet the discs work, despite them being region A (see picture 2). Shouldn't it be region locked? I'm using a modded Playstation 3, but I also have tested them on my vanilla PS4 when I bought it, and they worked there as well.

The second concern is that in the OVA disc (picture 4) episode 2, the last segment has a bug that freezes for a second and then jumps ahead by about 10 seconds, then playing the rest as normal. If I then rewind, I can watch the skipped content normally, as long as I don't rewind to the point where the glitch happens. The bug occurs on both dub and sub.

I bought it second-hand about a year ago from an online flea market from a guy that sells anime Blu-Rays. He has a legit account and nothing but good reviews.

Finally pulled the plug and bought Nichijou. I know it's Region B but I am planning to upgrade my BluRay player so that should be fine. But I finally have Nichijou!!!!!!!!

Here's my pickups from MediaOCD's Otakon sale at long last! I partnered them with my Miyu preorder so waited patiently for everything to arrive together today.

Vampire Princess Miyu, Black Jack, Alien Nine, and Prime Rose are all doubledips for me. I have the older AnimEigo, CPM, and SkySet releases and wanted to get nice upgrades for them.

Hotori, Master of Martial Hearts, and Sketchbook will be totally new watches to me, but I'm most excited for Black Jack. So thrilled to get those missing final episodes officially after all these years! 🥰

Can anyone let me know if the blu ray quality for my hime is actually worth like 200 dollars vs this dvd set which only costs 30 dollars?

Just received my collector's edition of Twin Star Exorcist. The funny fact is that the tiny collectible came in two big boxes I didn't even know what it was when I saw it in the mailbox. I opened the big box and it was just a box inside of the box. Then I opened that box and it was my collectible stuff with a lot of bubble wrap. I don't even know why they just didn't put one in that smaller box and ship it. Wouldn't it be more expensive to do a bigger box maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about.

Excited to announce i finally gotten the complete blood c series, blood c the last dark movie, and Limited edition domestic girlfriend which includes the art cards which is peak and poster in it. My list is thinning as I'm knocking them down 1 by 1
