I've played semi-regularly since launch day, especially during some bursts like there in summer of 2022, where I finally crafted all the golden tools after getting the Golden Watering Can for finally achieving a 5 star island. I'd gotten all the fish and bugs by December 2020, and got the Golden Slingshot sometime in-between.
Meanwhile, after they added Gullivarrr early on, I'd met him and Gulliver at least 20 times within the first year, but because Gullivarrr doesn't count towards the Golden Shovel, it's taken me this long. Judging by the number of rusted parts, Gullivarrr took an extra 20 visits, meaning I'd have gotten it years ago if Nintendo didn't make that change.
It probably would've made more sense to earn the Golden Shovel from finishing the fossil collection, just like one getting all the fish and bugs gets you the golden fishing rod and net, respectively.
Oh well. Now I finally have them all... Just for them to be expensive to craft but still break.
Ironically, I first played Animal Crossing on the GameCube, and have fond memories of getting the Golden Shovel early by burying one in the glowing spot in the earth. When I saw that those spots were back in this game, my first instinct was to bury a shovel there, thinking they'd brought that back... Only to waste time and money instead. And now I finally have it, six and a half years later.

Okay first of all he came into my bathroom yesterday and plopped on the toilet to hang so I chilled next to him lol. I got Erik because I thought he was the cutest moose ever but I’ve had him a while and I’m kind of sad that I’m not into him more. What are your opinions of Erik? He’s totally fine I just thought I would like him more bc he’s so cute. June just moved to my island today and replaced Roald so I’m pretty excited about that.

Do you have certain spots on the island that you really love? 🫶 And what items couldn't you live without?
I think for me it would be the flower wagon 😌

hi all!! ive started replaying for the first time since the recent major update and im redecorating my animal crossing island, and ive noticed that grass weeds (the ones in front of my character, kind of hard to see im sorry) grow within about a day now into bigger weeds (bottom left) and im not a big fan of the bigger sized ones!! i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to alternative space fillers i could use besides weeds now. ive tried using drawn path blocks but they look a bit tacky :-)

Como posso evoluir no animal crossing?
Jogo quase todos os dias, mas parece que sempre pego os mesmo ossos dinossauros, peixe, e cartões. Penso em reiniciar o jogo para tentar nova jogabilidade.

I ask because I decided to fire up the Switch and play ACNH for the first time in nearly 3 years. Or course I went ahead and started a brand new island and currently I'm working toward getting K.K.Slider to come visit.
Last night I took a Dodo flight and managed to land on a scorpion island (which also had several bell rocks). Since I haven't played in a while, I completely forgot how fast those scorps are when you're holding your net! I swear, I must have been stung 20+ times before catching one.
Anyway, if you also restarted a new island after a long break, what little (or big) things had you forgotten about?

It’s only been 2 years since I’ve had this game 😅 super happy to finally see a lily of the valley (maybe some day soon I’ll catch a damn scorpion too)
