Is there any particular reason as to why they only made two albums in the 2010s, but eight(?) in the 00s?

Somewhat straight forward question - I'm just curious since they famously play/played their songs waaay before the album comes out, and so I'm wondering, do they figure out the songs once they play them live or do they have a writing session were they come up with them or both? Do songs get created thru improv in live sessions? Is it a mix between all of them? Give examples if you're able to pls lol

I heard somewhere that Fickle Cycle was born out of Grass, or that Grass was born out of Fickle Cycle or whatever, but what about Must be Treeman? How were these songs created?

Hi! I'm making some bracelets to give out at the Thursday knockdown show. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing so, or if I will be the only dork who brought some. They say "anco", "feels" and my fav "animal". I know people usually make these out of stretch cord but I didn't have any so they have clasps. I have like a dozen? I might make more though. I'm so excited for the show it will be my first time in NYC.

And entirely unrelated to bracelets, anyone have any ideas of merch that may or may not be there? Like did the first show of the sung tongs tour (before it was a tour) have merch? Was it good? Wild speculation welcome below.

Why are anco fans so insane? I've met a few other reasonable ones but I have a hard time connecting with other fans of anco, particularly avey tare fans. Many of which are like psycho stalker types.

I remember the days of collected animals and the ridiculousness of all that, but nowadays it seems to have metastasized into something quite dark and gross. I really don't believe the music attracts that kind of person, but I think maybe the strange nature or "experimentalism" of the music is misinterpreted by folks who genuinely need professional help. It's like taking psychedelics without a guide or beginning a path of meditation without a responsible and compassionate teacher.

Y'all need to ground yourself in reality. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. Check yourselves anco fans!!!

Personally I think it is one of their best modern (maybe any) era songs. Maybe a stanza too long at the end but a unique and absorbing 20 minute work of music.
