First time doing the HAMR for a PT test. Never practiced it before. PTLs were able to set up rabbit light to go with audio. Needless to say I’m never doing the 2 mile run for the cardio portion of the test for the rest of my time in the Air Force.

Is this a new normal for OCONUS bases? If so it’s ridiculous. Idc if it’s only one weekend a month. It’s still a weekend that I have to get up and leave my house for to drive all the way to work just so they can see my face. What if I wanted to get black out drunk on a random weekend? Now I look irresponsible and have to find a ride from someone. I’d appreciate if they told us what weekend they’re doing the recalls, or better yet stop doing them.

So, I had received the email from AFPC that I will no longer able to apply for diagnostic imaging because they had run out of seats. When I checked the listing there were still 13 slots available and I’m just so confused.

I looked at the eligibility chart for staff testing, and I noticed that it says time in grade/date of rank
So I’m a little confused about the slash.

Is this saying time in grade AND date of rank or is it saying time in grade OR date of rank?

I genuinely have not been able to get a clear answer on this

I’m not sure if I want to do the twenty years but I still want to make the most of this in terms of ranking up faster, tsp and just overall being good at my job yk (for context I’m in tech school for weather so any tips to help with that would be appreciated)

I have been trying to access vMPF on my Macbook for the past week. I can access all other DoD websites just fine, it’s just vMPF that won’t load. I tried different browsers, double checked all certificates, and tried accessing direct link vs through the okta dashboard.

Does anyone know if it’s been down for personal laptop access, or if there’s another solution? Trying to save documents prior to separation and can’t do so via EITAAS is without a DLP waiver request.

Hey yall, my husband and I are new to the AF pilot community and wanted to hear some perspectives on the lifestyle from other dual mil pilots out there. Do you suggest flying the same airframe? In December of 2025 I was charged with Article(s): 112a (wrongful use or possession of controlled substance) 2 counts. Article 107 (making false official statements) 2 counts.

I was convicted only of one charge of Article 107 due to multiple observers at DDRP not following protocol so I got off on those charges.

I spent 3 months in the Brig at Charleston Navy Base. Was released and returned to duty February 14th 2026.

When I got back to my base, I was informed I was being Admin Sep’d under general but honorable conditions. I took it at the advice of my attorney who said that was the best possible outcome. I get all my benefits besides the GI Bill (already had a degree). I separated on 16 APR 2026.

My main question is how long does it take until I am able to purchase a firearm again? I remember being told by OSI every time I went in after I failed a drug test that each time I came in “that year mark resets to a year from today”. I passed my final drug test on 6 NOV 2025. Is it from that date? Or the date of my release from incarceration? My day of separation? I’ve asked legal and ADC where I was at and have gotten nowhere. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have checked my vRED and it is accurate as is. But to submit the verrified info, I need to alter my Preferred Religious Code. Integrity first. I am what I am. To say otherwise is a lie.

When asked "what is your preferred religion" I do not say "Not Shown" or "Other". I say what I am. And the DoW wants to change my belief to "No Religion." That is wildly inaccurate. Excellence in all we do. I have personally verified the information, but the system is prompting me to say inaccurate words to complete my vRED. I will not.

I may never update my vRED again so long as this persists. I will provide my CSS with the most current info though. But this is not Religious Freedom. And if the gov't wishes to punish me over it or even use this as a factor in my promotion board, then this is clearly Religious Persecution. Part of me hopes it does came to that. Change my records to whatever you want. I will not. I will stand by my beliefs, my convictions, and the truth.

I’m on my way out of active duty as a 1D7 and I just had a mandatory appointment with reserve recruiter. I’m not going to lie… he painted a very pretty picture but I wanted to see if I could get some insight on any reserve units down at Lackland AFB and what the environment looks like there (since that’s where I’d plan to go as a reservist l). Any help/info is appreciated!

I’m stationed at Shaw and am pretty happy here, but I would LOVE to be stationed overseas. I’m also in my BOP window, I’m contemplating if I should apply for my BOP and go somewhere that I wouldn’t mind going or if I should wait it out and just keep trying to get overseas orders 🤷‍♀️ I know it’s more a personal choice just looking for some insight

I'll be hitting tech school again soon for Retraining. I read in the course description it seems like everyone has to do a PT test (not official and must do, sit up, push ups, and the 2 mile. No alts.)

Is this accurate? If so, about how soon is it?

I'm not too worried about it, just recently got a injury that is probably going hurt my run significantly if it's within like the first week or so.

Any one had to do this recently during their retraining?

I'm trying to retrain into this AFSC but I can't find any real information on this job.

I see the bases I can go to on AMS but I can't find any day to day stuff or what the job actually would entail.

If there is anyone who can answer some of these questions I'd greatly appreciate any insight.

Anyone have insight on why this year’s Maj results are taking so long for congress to approve? Is it because the board results were weird and took months to reshuffle and release in the first place? AFPC hasn’t even gotten to the DT Vectors yet (months behind…again) so everything is a giant question mark.

Helloooo, I just had a few questions that are likely case by case answers, but I would still like to hear from anyone willing to share. I’m currently half way through my one year short tour with a DEROS of Apr 2027. I submitted my application and now just waiting for approval.

Questions:
-In the event I get approved, what are the chances my DEROS gets approved for curtailment if tech school starts before then?

-Or would it get extended if it’s after the date?
And in this case, will I stay at my current base even though it’s past the one year mark?

I’ve noticed a recurring pattern in my interactions with PJs: there often seems to be a particularly insular culture, accompanied by a somewhat dismissive attitude toward conventional Airmen outside of PJ squadron.

Is this sense of exclusivity and professional superiority something others have observed as well?

Personally, I’ve never been bothered too much by it, as I have a background in marathon running and consider my own endurance and fitness to be strong. Nevertheless, I’m interested in understanding whether this attitude is widespread or simply my experience.
