While this are just a few, there are many more. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of valid points, but many posts are just wrong or even a lie.

With the majority of them are literally like "pay2win heavly monetized" while the only thing you have to do (which is not even needed, and is even heavly tuned down compared to KR/TW) is to pay a subscription for 12,75€ (15$). If this is so heavily monetizing their game, WoW, FFIV etc. are as well.

This is a casual take, I haven't reached end-end game content where I think swiping would defo make a difference.

But lwk, playing through 90% of everything it's literally free to play? I don't get the propaganda where people are saying it sucks cause of the subscription, etc.

Pvp is bad tho, luckily most of the Pvp aspect is optional. The only P2W thing I can see if you can't reach a certain combat power or ilvl, you won't get to any party to join a dungeon.

Hi, guys. I am playing a Sorc at 18xx GS right now with around 82k Combat Power. I picked the class on a whim and fell in love with it. I tried other ranged DPS and nothing comes close to how fun Sorc is for me. It's a very visceral playstyle. The dopamine from dropping Hellfire every time is the best.

The problem I am having is that it's really hard for me to get into most public groups, especially now that I have crossed into Trans 1, getting my cards, and moving on to 2. Most are either looking for pretty high Combat Power or a Templar/Cleric. Before anybody says make your own group, I obviously try that. For some reason, though, this sub makes it seem like the moment you create your own group, everybody flocks to you and you're in the dungeon in two minutes. As a DPS player, that's not realistic.

So, I made a Cleric and Templar alts and leveled both to 45 so I could experience what their kit roughly has to offer. Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy either and I am not going to play something in a video game that isn't fun since that's the whole point.

That said, it's really demoralizing trying to get into groups on my Sorc and makes me feel kinda bad. I just want to blow stuff up and I would say according to NotMeter that I am pretty decent at doing that when I get the chance.

As a DPS, how are you handling, I guess mentally, having a hard time getting into groups? Maybe I need to change my mindset or something, I don't really know.

After 40+ games with randoms, yeah gatekeeping makes sense. I've come to a conclusion that maybe 20% of Aion players can read and those are the only players that have macros set up. It took me 1 hour to figure out how a macro works, its not that hard - I'm still pumping good numbers whilst maintaining my mechanics. The drop on difficulty hits hard on conquest and if you dont know what you're doing or don't have the right stats, the run is GG.

Don't get me started with healing as well, some of these players dont even understand that standing on a different color is bad but they expect healers to outheal a deathtrap. Wild. My favorite run was when 2 NPC's kept using res stones on a soon to be enraged boss with 20% hp. I'm positive they ate more than 10 stones when I had already teleported back to the obelisk. I honestly couldnt tell if they were just bad or they just didnt know because they never said a word in chat.

I enjoy helping randoms out but only if they're willing to learn. I take revive on Draupnir because folks still cant jump over the rings and pass the stagger check. Some of them dont even know what a stagger is or what big buttons have high stagger.

It's sad because when i jump on my DPS alt, I never get accepted and yet I can beat these dungeons with my eyes closed but it makes complete sense. The issue isn't gatekeeping, the issue is 80% of Aion players don't really know what they are doing. Tanks still dont move the first boss out of the blue puddle, DPS still dont understand what a reflect is, oh and that one rock boss on Valkrum, folks are still healing that boss til this day.

So my twitch drops weren't successfully registering. I contacted customer service and they locked my account. It's been over 24hrs and no additional response.

Pretty pissed at myself for even griping for my Twitch drops. Why would they need to lock my account? What happened to just mailing me compensation

Edit they unlocked the account this morning. All is well.

Since they can't deal with the bots and only do ban wave which doesn't solve anything because it will only be fine for 8 hours after the ban wave and then they are all back again.

Just make the gathering nodes spawn for each individual so we don't have to compete against bots.

First they whine about pay-to-win.

Then they whine because the game is too easy.

Then they whine because they can't upgrade their gear.

Later they whine because they get gatekept.

And now the Elyos whine because the Asmodians dominate every server and demand NCSoft intervene like this is some kind of balance dictatorship.

What the hell do they want?

Do they want NCSoft to force players to join the Elyos?

Do they want the war they couldn't win to be handed to them?

Do they want a participation trophy?

Do they want someone to hold their keyboard while they type "please make us strong"?

Do they want NCSoft to wipe their asses and sing them a lullaby while they sleep?

They complain about bots, but people keep making bots.

And if the game is free, what do they expect?

That NCSoft eradicates the black market with a magic wand?

Not even governments can end crime, and you expect a software company to destroy a shady business that moves real money.

Wake up: bots are a plague, yes, but they're also a symptom. Not a button NCSoft can press to make them disappear.

And meanwhile, you keep buying Kinah on the black market. So don't come with stories.

You should be more grateful to NCSoft and enjoy the game.

So far my journey in Aion 2 has been a good time sink and I enjoyed it whenever I got to play a lot with my friends.
Now I've tried to farm some alone and spent hours upon hours of farming horizontal player power and am playing with subscription + planets call only to make up for the bad rng which tanks my combat power.

Aside from experiencing occasional packet-loss in fights which I even route-traced to check if its me (it's not) and the overall server experience being extremly instable connection wise I do like the mechanical gameplay overall.
People suggest Exitlag and stuff, but why do I have to pay a 3rd party program to establish what should be a fundamental level of service? fix the lags NCsoft.

Some of the points that really annoy me aside from these lag issues (Server is German, im located there too - makes me wonder wtf is happening) - is me being unable to progress outside playing with friends.

I opened 20 Cubes from Fire temple (20/28) and did not see a single item from here - thus am stuck at 96k rating which stalls the pace im being invited to groups and the overall progression just feels awful.
Getting into groups is one thing, takes me an average of 20-30 minutes to find one as people filter by Combat Power and are ofc FOTM-jerking Chanter/Cleric/+Tank stacking since most play dps anyway.

With my premade I rush through the content without any issues but we have different schedules and not everybdoy can compensate the missfortune that I experience through his mates.

It seriously makes no sense that I need to open 56 cubes and find weapons for other classes to get my weapon to maybe have a shot at fixing the CP issues if I should ever find it.

TL;DR:
-Loot Progression is awful
-Combat Power System instantly shows the flaws in gearing when bad rng strikes you as you are stalled from progression through not finding groups which in turn gatekeeps you from moving forward till rng strikes.
-Server Lags are consistent and a severe issue. Rubberbanding / Warping lag are a regular occurence.

I’ve never played Aion before, so I don’t really know what the game has to offer... However, I’ve started watching some content about it, and I’ve heard people talking about a melee problem...

Does this problem actually exist, or is it just an exaggeration?

Ps: I’m going to play this class anyway... I’m just curious and I also want to know what I’ll have to deal with if the problem is real!

Are you all that are posting here actually struggling this badly in expeditions/transcendence?

For the record, I play solo and don't watch much content creators. I just occasionally scroll reddit.

But how I hear it, no one can get into a group, everyone dies always, and there turns out to be timers on bosses. And see this is where it gets dickish, because I genuinely haven't experienced any of the trauma described.

I'm at 2.6k, have played through all content currently available (as f2p), and not once suffered a full wipe. All I look for when joining a group is for there to be a chanter for the buff and I don't think it's ever taken more than a couple of minutes to get in.

Hell, I haven't even been able to use the chat since the game has been out, not a word exchanged in any group I've played, and still it's been in and out 10 minutes at the most each run.

Well, actually, I did once get an A instead of an S in transcendence.

I've been having a blast just chilling, binging some old movies on the side, shootin' the shit on auto-pilot. I don't know. Just rolling through and gobbling up loot. I'm sorry, it's just been great.

For the life of me, I cannot relate to the woes prescribed here.

Yeah, it sucks. I'm in the same situation. Things will get a lot better once there are more Clerics at the required GS (getting GS is mostly RNG because it depends on drops), but that won't help with the current situation.

BUT instead of just thinking about how stupid other people are as they are gatekeeping, you could focus on other progression systems. I can almost guarantee that if you're sitting at 100k–110k CP, you still have a lot of room to improve your character:

- blue and green Arcana cards to get your main kills to level 16

- at least three Stigmas at level 20 and the last one at level 15

- BiS lines on your Genus board even in 4/1/5.

- dozens of gold gear pieces ready to use for Soulbinds

- all your Season Missions completed as far as possible.

All in all there are plenty of ways to progress your character and increase your dmg instead of spending hours waiting in lobbies. We can't change that 1. other people being fucking stupid or 2. there simply aren't enough Clerics in that tier right now. But you can still make progress on your character without having to spam dungeons all day.

People are actively going against cooperating so everyone can get max rewards.
And that's with explaining the strategy and asking them to do it. Instead all that you get back is just straight up refusal saying things like "no, its war" or just ignoring you entirely.
Are players on NA also that insufferable?
There is literally no downside of helping everyone. Instead they want to waste everyone's time.
And don't tell me it's for fun. The novelty of these minigames has already long worn off with the lack of any variety in them while tying them to real significant rewards. Also the fact that they are timegated so hard and need to be done thrice a day

The restriction of Odenenergy makes no sense it is barely monetized at all.

I am now staring at my Battlepass because I was like: Great i can purchase additional repeatable levels for more Odenenergy but you literally can't and because you can only grind 15.000 XP per Week you can't gain the repeatable indefinetly.

Why is this here? In an MMORPG, where the grind is the game?

So I made a gladiator thinking I could tank and not have any issues with lobbies. Only to find out templars are better and gladiators tend to get gatekept? Ive seen a lot of posts about gatekeeping but how bad is it? Im not trying to play lost ark 2 lobby finder.

The guard and chest piece have the exact drop rates from the dungeon so why does the plate only cost one ticket but guard requires two?

I don't even have one myself but I just realized that since you're supposed to clear a butt-load of raids every week as opposed to just 5-10, and drops are pretty much all RNG and not cumulative, how do you even have a static in this game? Let's say all of you reach 2500 for 4th transcendence and you go Deus Research first. In 3 runs, 2 out of 5 people will have very solid yellow cards from it, and it would make sense for them to go Arkanis instead. But the other 3 don't have anything. Leave alone the insane RNG on something like weapon drops from dungeons. One person will burn through 2000 energy going for full pity while their static member might just get an RNG drop and a bunch of accessories early on, and prefer to go do the Armor Dungeon or switch to Transcendence. It's basically like you need to have a guild with a bunch of people and play with different ones every time, whoever needs THE THING that you need too. Or PUG. Not that I dislike it but it's different from other games.

And yup, 4th group that rushed boss after i fell due to the shit gliding who refused to reset and lost my progress, right after getting 1 shot by a guard while doing the rift world.

annnnnnnd i'm done, my fence sitting is over, hope yall enjoy the game, but oh man, some of these designs in a 2026 MMO are just incredbily questionable.

filling dungeons with mobs you dont have to even engage with, hyper unresponsive gliding (especially on mount), and the market with sub was what was putting me on edge.

Was nice while it lasted, hope the game lasts a long time for you all, but unless something drastic changes i dunno, i'm starting to understand all the complaints lol.

For context, I'm at 120k CP and 2600+ GS, and my pets are at 200/200.

I've used all my Expedition energy, done my dailies, finished Nightmare and Ascension, completed all my Abyss quests, and done the other 12 quests you pick up in town.

After about 10 hours, I've finished everything on my list and now I'm just staring at the screen, wondering what to do next. I still want to play, but I don't want to play alts. I'd rather keep playing my main.

What do you guys do at this point? Is there content or something worth farming that I'm missing? I'm struggling to find things to do once all of this is finished.

I want to preface this first off with saying the devs did an amazing job getting rid of the bots at least from my server, ive been farming for about an hour maybe a little less, and i haven't seen a single bot on not one node so good on them for that HOWEVER. After close to an hour ive farmed 20 odyle nodes and 85 Azpha Nodes and i now have a chat message when i try to farm that says "Essence Extraction has been restricted due to repetitive behavior. I make my own potions and was going to farm until 100 Fresh Azpha im only at 47 atm.

Also in case anyone was curious i got 3 captchas in the hour i was farming, solved all pretty instantly and on first try.

Also I am now able to farm again, idk what the limiter is based on but i think its a little silly like i just wanna make my potions.

Just... Wow. Is there no moderation? No matter the time I log in it's full of people hurling racial slurs towards each other. I have to start by reporting 3-6 users every time, and couple days ago someone advertised a clan named "White supremacists" or something like that.

There was just someone spamming number 1 endlessly while putting some slurs in between.
