Resonance I love the game. But…

I hate the Theseus parts. Not having my abilities and charms and stuff. Not being able to kick soldiers off. So easy to get hit somewhere and die and have to do it all again. Normal combat no problems…

After unlocking the Platinum of A Plague Tale: Innocence (my 4th Platinum) & A Plague Tale: Requiem (my 9th Platinum), this was a must-have for my collection, and I hope to unlock its Platinum too, making it my 57th Platinum 😁🏆

Also, I loved Sophia's character back in Requiem, and I'm very excited to play Resonance now! 🐀

Anyways, any recommendations/suggestions for me regarding this one?

Resonance Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a visual masterpiece, a worthy addition to the series, which almost manages to hold its own.

And that's a wrap on Resonance: A Plague Tale legacy !

I was a huge fan of the first 2 games, especially REQUIEM, so obviously I was excited for this one.

One of those few games, where I am genuinely amazed by the art direction of each and every level. Absolutely top notch.

Coupled with the incredible music and excellent voice acting this is a very good addition to the series.

Though it doesn't quite reach the heights of Plague Tale Requiem, and leaves some story beats quite open, like what exact link does Sophia has with Ariadne and how they got Asterion's blood and how the Macula became the Plague, it does manage to stand on its own nonetheless.

I wish the gameplay was bit better though.

Must Try

Resonance Playstyle and gameplay observation. Potential spoiler. Spoiler

Let me start off by saying that this game's setting is the MVP and I am enjoying it despite the point I'm about to make.

Combat in this game seems like an afterthought. I'm playing on normal difficulty, and I found that as long as you aren't fighting against more than two or three opponents, a very simple system is as follows.

If you simply spam dodge and get used to the opponent's fight patterns attacking becomes very easy. You don't even need to block or parry. I only lose if I get sloppy.

Does this 'cheat' go away at the higher difficulty levels?

Innocence: Question Does anyone have an A Plague Tale Innocence Chapter 3/4 save file?

Might be a long shot, but may be worth a try. Hope this is allowed (I found previous similar requests using the search)

I've originally played Innocence up to Chapter 4 or 5 and want to get back into the game, after enjoying Resonance a lot. I played Innocence on Game Pass, so I don't have access to the save file, but I have bought it on Steam now.

Does anyone happen to have a save file that's somewhere around Chapter 3 or 4, so I don't have to replay that part? Thanks!

Theory Character Design Inspiration?

I haven't bought the game yet but planning to buy soon. Anyways is it me or the main protagonist has some strikingly similar details in design from Prince of Persia Warrior Within? Both have similar color outfits, dual swords, wrapped cloth around arm, sleeveless torso pieces...what do you think?

Requiem: Help Hugo bugged out in Chapter IX- Tales and Revelations Spoiler

I am right at the end of IX where Amicia, Hugo, and Sophia are exploring the alchemy laboratory, but when I interact with Hugo when he's examining a table, his model goes rigid duuring dialouge and when I press a prompt as Amicia to call him over to trigger a cutscene right before the end of chapter Hugo refuses to come so Amicia is just stood there waiting perpetually. This has genuinely stopped me from finishing this game for 2 years. This is one of my favorite game series and I just want to finish this so I can play Resonance eventually. Please Help. I've tried ever sort of troubleshooting method, including restarting the chapter and even the entire game completely.

Resonance Kinda sucks that devs just pad their games to death these days

This labyrinth will probably never end, huh? “I’m almost at the end!” But just one more room, one more chase, one more fight with some more random soldiers. “I’m so close!” But just one more room of parried, one more chase, one more fight with some more random soldiers.

Padding so obvious these days it’s painful. It does suck that devs are pressured to increase a game’s length as much as possible to “justify” the game’s price for some shallow gamers. So many great games and yet none of them are perfect because they just feel the need to pad and pad with filler slop (Onimusha, Control, you name it)

Theory Similarities in diseases

So that stuff that little brother of Ariana had kinda have a lot in common with macula

Artificial light and sun is killing them

They leave grey stuff after themselves which is also can be destroyed by light

They don't have theoretical limit (macula can grow to a nebula, sun eater. And Minotaur can kill everything if not for the light)

They all have a core (carrier for macula and body for Minotaur)

Most importantly, they manifest spirit and intelligence (of some level) of the carrier, they can be scared, can back off and etc

Feels like different streams of one big river, diseases having something in common and hiding something terrible within, like another version of disease which will be shown in the fourth game

I mean the hate for some multipass DLSS 5 injections is real, but tbh when using a single pass, this gorgeous game turns into live action for some parts.

It's just phenomenal.

Big ups to the devs! ❤️🙌

Resonance I'm so sorry for doubting you Asobo Studio, never happening again

I just finished resonance and holy it was sooo amazing. The sibling story of certain 2 characters got me just as heartbroken as Amicia and Hugo's story. I guess the hole that requiem left in me never healed and seeing those two, especially at the ending got me BAWLING my eyes out just like requiem because of the tragic story of another pair of siblings who couldn't grow up happily. As an older sister with a younger brother who is almost 7 years younger than me, and the fact that I had to protect and support him a lot throughout his childhood and also the fact that he always clung to me like how Hugo did to Amicia, these games always had a different level of emotional impact on me hahah

Anyway I'm getting off track here. Just wanted to say I loved this game, loved Sophia's character too and ofc the soundtrack and the visuals omg.. Insane (in a positive way ofc). I wasn't sure of the combat from the trailers but I'm glad I was proven wrong! I had lots of fun and I really recommend this game to everyone who still hasn't played it! Also Asobo Studio, you definitely won me over (like you haven't had already) but now I 100% know they've still got it and never doubting them again. Turned me into a very loyal consumer!

Resonance My review - 8.5/10 (Spoilers) Spoiler

I'm a veteran of the first two games. I thought this one was pretty damn great. I wondered how well they'd do without Hugo & Amicia, and whether Sophia had enough wasta to carry a game by herself. I would say that this came through in spades!

I posted before, fighting people face to face is probably the biggest change and the best part. We sneak around, do stuff, and then get to schwack some guys. I would agree with many other critics in that it could use some more polish, and was kind of medium-to-OK, but it was a welcome change to sniping people with Amicia and then getting annihilated if you got found. I had trouble with the parry system - I dont think anyone can do it better than Sekiro. Like several other games with a parry system, they do not quite get it right. Do you parry when it hits you, right before it hits you...? I think this was kind of fiddly. But at least we can fight, and it's very cathartic.

One thing that did not change were the unbelievable graphics and art direction. This is one of the best looking games of all time. No notes there.

I think the pacing was a little iffy, especially at the start. It hits the gas around chapter 4. I think the character swap was an awesome way to change pace and do some things differently instead of stay with Sophia in a big gross depressing underground cave system. I think that in the last third, we could have used some more breaks with brighter-lit areas, even if the gameplay was mostly underground. Having a Theseus swap fixed a lot of this imo.

I'm not sure how I felt about the main enemy. Instead of a gigantic mass, unending swarm of rats, now we have a bizarre, unkillable ash-snake-worm thing. I think this did what it was supposed to do in the game, and there was a devastating scene at the end when the source is revealed, but maybe it's just me - I really dont like games where the only thing you can do is run away. I'm not an Alien Isolation guy. But again, did it work? I think so, it's just not my cup of tea overall

The voice-acting, like the first two, is sublime. Really loved the hell of this aspect. And I also loved the cameo at the end.

For regular peeps, this should be accessible and enjoyable. I usually try to buy games on sale, or at some kind of discount, but this game is well worth full price. For veterans of the first two games, this is mandatory playing.

Requiem: Discussion Requiem : Does it get better?

I've played A Plague Tale : Innocence. It was a good light game and my audience(my gf) enjoyed the story alot as well and the gameplay was okay. The part with Rodric pushing the cart is honestly one of the worst designed levels I've ever encountered, fuck the designers for not fixing the bugs. Apart from this, it was relax story gaming.

Now playing Requiem. Just finished chapter 5(the one where they introduce the crossbow) this chapter is downright DOGSHIT. Straying away too far from central story to 20 mins of useless puzzles back to back while trying to get back to the Joseph's boat. The puzzles here felt really forced and when you get to the boat, you're immediately forced into a tutorial of using the bow and some whatever chase scene and a very very dumb scene with Hugo finally using his rat powers again and leaving his mom on the boat and blah blah. You dont feel it cause you're not really emotionally invested as you were frustrated with everything thrown at you in supposely a linear story game that's trying real hard to be a challenging game, it's annoying. The game has nothing much else going in for it other than it's unique story. In chapter 5, I got bored pretty quick and my gf too. Does the game get better? There's a huge hype about it, gave it a try. Chapter 5 kinda turned me off alot. Would I expect more stupid tutorial like more 'forced' puzzles and etc?
