I never felt this sad over a game since twdg …

I've always been fond of conflicted characters in storylines, I liked how he was the second-father in the game yet he was an antagonist for a while, his despair after being betrayed and seeing his blunderers die, he thought Sophia betrayed him but his heart always said otherwise,
from the two moments they faced he hesitates to follow his thoughts, he was obsessed on not letting Alec work die, that he forgot his promise to protect Sophia.
I also admired the details in his design later on, he looked pale as if has a huge burden and a promise needs to be fulfilled both to Sophia and her father (his friend), he finally paid for his mistakes.
Wonderful Character. His name Faro means lighthouse or a beacon in Italian, a hint for his final act in this series.

I just started Resonance. I’m brand new to the series. I’ve just finished chapter one and I’m already hooked. As of now I’m already definitely planning to play the other 2.

I recently finished playing Resonance and overall really enjoyed it. I would have preferred more puzzles and less sneaking and fighting but all the mechanics were good enough that it kept me entertained to the end.
One thought I had though was that by far the best sequences in the game were when you were running around with Leni, and then to a lesser extent when you were running around with Faro. The gameplay really seems to shine brightest when accompanied by the great dialogue Asobo manage to put in their games which lets us learn more about the characters and just sort of "hang out" with them in a way. It was the same with the Plague Tale games as well - it's what made them feel so special. Sure there are definitely narrative and thematic reasons for the characters to be isolated by themselves for a time but I enjoyed those "co-op" sections so much I ended up wishing more of the game had been dedicated to them.
Similarly - whilst the games are really well written, and the sadness inherent in the stories is a big part of their impact... does anyone else think they can lay it on a bit thick at times? I remember not being able to fully connect with any of the side characters in Resonance because of a strong feeling (and an accurate one it turns out) that they would all inevitably die. Asobo are so good at creating those joyful "interlude" moments between all the horrific, terrifying, dark sequences and create such beautiful scenery that I sort of wish they would just make a completely different type of game that is more about just going on an enjoyable adventure rather than having tragedy heaped on us from all sides. Also more outdoor sequences and less "dark, miserable cavern part 10" sequences.
Anyone else?

I was writing Asobo the developer of the Game for a Potential new game + and they actually respond to me. I hope they making a new game + mode. Hopes are high.

Having finished all three games, I genuinely do not understand why so many people want to control the prima macula, nor why the Order has not spent the last however-many-centuries trying to convince the carrier families not to procreate. In the first two games, it seemed like it was at best a barely controlled WMD of bubonic plague rats which would definitely spill out of control. In the third game it becomes clear that it can be a whole lot weirder than even that.
Granted, the Grand Inquisitor wanted it for personal salvation from the plague and delusions of power, while the La Cuna islanders were confused about what the prima macula actually entailed, but you would think that the Order would be better informed. Seems like they would be best served by just cutting off the lineages that risk carrying it.
Am I missing something?
Edit: Thank you for the replies! It would seem I was giving humanity too much credit to assume that building a nuke with no safety and a hair trigger would seem self-evidently like a bad idea.

I was trying to get a closer look at Hugo at the end of the game because the first time I finished it I didn’t get a good look.
Wasn’t prepared for it. Also, kinda sad to see things from his perspective…

I posted here before when I finished innocence and it became my favorite game of all time and I played every game you can think of.
After finishing requiem I have a lot of thoughts I wanted to share .
I ABSOLUTELY loved AMECIA and her story in this game. How she became more and more violent and how she suffered a lot to protect Hugo and what she went through as a person.
I adored Hugo in the first game but here the story felt a bit off. The beginning was beautiful and I loved all the Hugo moments I just don't like what happened in the island it felt very disconnected and it was my least favorite section of the game. I was expecting something completely different and better
funnily enough I feel like the gameplay in the first game is better. The levels I don't remember a big difference maybe they were bigger in the second but I kinda preferred them in the first .
The equipment I love the crossbow and different new ways to use alchemy but I kinda felt like it wasn't enough idk. I wasn't satisfied with it . But I didn't hate it I really did enjoy it
I ABSOLUTELY HATE HATE HATE WHAT KEEPS HAPPENING. SPOILERSSSS but EVERYONE YOU MEET DIES AGAIN LIKE IN THE FIRST GAME with only one exception. But I didove them as characters. I didn't expect to love Sophia this much but she's amazing, all around every character was really good and was done well
alright SO to keep things short . I really really did not like the ending, felt rushed and out of nowhere , don't get me wrong I'm not someone that's into bright and happy stories i prefer the opposite, but the first game had one of the best ending's I've ever seen . The second just wasn't as good
After all that? After the dream and all we learned?
The entire game I was thinking about what if they make a third game with a grown up Hugo I hate the parts where AMECIA is fighting the rats in the dream like section in the end and you just can't win I don't like it . Sure it it's about you not being able to save Hugo but I really don't like it I just hated the ending and hated what happened and what led to it after leaving the island it didn't feel good
I did love the post credit stuff tho at least

My decade plus streak of not crying from a game has been broken.
Excellent game. But so heartbreaking.

Sort of as a proof of concept and for my own interest, I used AI to create a mod that replaces the blurry TAA and TAAU in A Plague Tale: Innocence with DLSS or DLAA, supporting models K, L, and M with rendering resolutions from 50% (performance) to 100% (DLAA). It's most noticeable at 1080p or 1440p, or when upscaling at 4K from low rendering resolutions like 50% scale. Apologies that it's vibe coded slop, but it wouldn't exist otherwise and I thought others may get a use out of it, either for better image quality or better low-end performance.
Nexus mods page has all the installation details. I've only tested on an RTX 50 series, so I'd love to hear feedback if it's working on other RTX cards. I'm also uncertain currently if it is compatible with Optiscaler but am working on that for the next release so AMD/Intel can benefit.

I have been following plague tale everywhere. But I came to know about Resonance about a month later after its release. YouTube, reddit, steam, epic games there was zero presence/hype about this game. Last time I checked was last year that the next version of the plague tale series is in progress.

I love absolutely everything about this game so far with the exception of the puzzles that are just absolutely relentless at this point. I've just started chapter 5 and I plan to just follow a youtube walkthrough to get through it because I really cannot be fucked working all these out myself. I understand why they're at this point in the game since it's meant to be a trial but is the rest of the game like this, or once I get the trials done, does it calm down? Thanks

Chapter: 11
Issue: Third Beam Puzzle Bug
I'm currently playing Chapter 11 and facing a frustrating issue with the third beam puzzle. After directing the light to remove the corruption from the first lever, I try to move it, but it always gets stuck halfway through instead of moving all the way and removing the corruption from the second lever.
I've restarted the chapter multiple times and watched several walkthroughs, but the lever works perfectly fine for everyone else. In my game, it gets stuck in the exact same spot every time.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I made trackers for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy:
The only missable achievement is Like a warrior. It needs all 18 skills, which cost 165 of the game’s 200 Resonance Points. The catch: points are saved only at the next checkpoint, and replaying a chapter resets your total to what you had the first time through. So all 165 have to come from one run. If you miss ten or more in a chapter, restart that chapter before moving on.
Everything else can be cleaned up in chapter select. No achievement depends on difficulty.
Free, no account needed. Your progress is saved in the browser.

I was not prepared for this ending, had a completely different scenario in my head, though the game is amazing, it is really depressing but 100% worth it!
It took me a while to finish the chapter where I as Amicia has to end it. Really a while, just contemplating and remembering every thing, damn, i got attached to the characters

At this point, it has to be intentional. Sophia has been saying “I’m almost there” for like an hour now, and yet the labyrinth stretches on and on and on and on. More soldiers to fight, another chase, more walking or tip-toeing. If it weren’t the devs shamelessly, transparently padding out this game as much as they could, i would’ve thought Resonance is a great game, but it’s really souring me.
You know you can just leave gamers wanting more, right?

I installed the game a few days after launch day, installed the patch, started the game and after a few minutes of a cutscene... it crashed. I sent the feedback to Sony as the screen prompted. Ok, no problem, started again, it started from the next cutscene, it went through for a while... crash. Then again, I played the initial gameplay section with the little Sophia going through the docks, started the cutscene... crash.
I restarted the PS5 in safe mode, clean cache, then rebuild database, installed together with the update, started again, played through the section where Sophia goes to bed and... crash. Checked on youtube, it seems the crashes happen exactly when the cutscene needs to get into another segment - cutscene or gameplay.
Deleted and reinstalled the game entirely, now it crashes when we select even New Game... I've never had that issue with any PS5 game ever - I am currently playing Onimusha PS5 perfectly fine, not a single hiccup.
Opened a support ticket with the developers, they were responsive, asked me for a video, I recorded it, sent back, they said they are working on fixing and... Nothing.
So unless someone can help here, I feel like I just wasted my money and I wanted to support the devs :(

I hate the Theseus parts. Not having my abilities and charms and stuff. Not being able to kick soldiers off. So easy to get hit somewhere and die and have to do it all again. Normal combat no problems…
