Requiem: Discussion Just finished plague tale requiem
I posted here before when I finished innocence and it became my favorite game of all time and I played every game you can think of.
After finishing requiem I have a lot of thoughts I wanted to share .
1) AMECIA
I ABSOLUTELY loved AMECIA and her story in this game. How she became more and more violent and how she suffered a lot to protect Hugo and what she went through as a person.
2) HUGO
I adored Hugo in the first game but here the story felt a bit off. The beginning was beautiful and I loved all the Hugo moments I just don't like what happened in the island it felt very disconnected and it was my least favorite section of the game. I was expecting something completely different and better
3) GAMEPLAY
funnily enough I feel like the gameplay in the first game is better. The levels I don't remember a big difference maybe they were bigger in the second but I kinda preferred them in the first .
The equipment I love the crossbow and different new ways to use alchemy but I kinda felt like it wasn't enough idk. I wasn't satisfied with it . But I didn't hate it I really did enjoy it
4) SIDE CHARACTERS
I ABSOLUTELY HATE HATE HATE WHAT KEEPS HAPPENING. SPOILERSSSS but EVERYONE YOU MEET DIES AGAIN LIKE IN THE FIRST GAME with only one exception. But I didove them as characters. I didn't expect to love Sophia this much but she's amazing, all around every character was really good and was done well
5) THE ENDING (SPOILERS)
alright SO to keep things short . I really really did not like the ending, felt rushed and out of nowhere , don't get me wrong I'm not someone that's into bright and happy stories i prefer the opposite, but the first game had one of the best ending's I've ever seen . The second just wasn't as good
After all that? After the dream and all we learned?
The entire game I was thinking about what if they make a third game with a grown up Hugo I hate the parts where AMECIA is fighting the rats in the dream like section in the end and you just can't win I don't like it . Sure it it's about you not being able to save Hugo but I really don't like it I just hated the ending and hated what happened and what led to it after leaving the island it didn't feel good
I did love the post credit stuff tho at least
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

Loved the game too and I thought the island and the previous macula lore was interesting, but (spoiler)…. damn i was disappointed when I heard Beatrice and Lucas showed up to the island right when we were about to head out I knew it was gonna go sideways

Also, resonance was a beautiful game you’ll like it if you liked Sophia’s character

I have to say I disagree with your point of view. The whole story is a gripping, heart wrenching tale of someone doing anything they can to save someone they love dearly.
The game brings you through their journey and gives an ounce of Hope right til the end, when you then realise, there isn’t going to be a happy ending, sometimes no matter how much you try, the world doesn’t care.
It’s a beautiful story, I think it was finished beautifully.
