ooooooh this is just great… now i have to do a fucking PRESS TOUR and explain to everyone in my life why this is the MOVIE OF THE FUCKING DECADE.

I will follow Nathan Fielder into a fucking tornado, i don’t give a shit. Anything he does i am 100% seated for. This documentary being the perfect example of that.

It’s VERY hard to review this without spoiling so i will stress this… EVERYONE. NEEDS. TO. SEE. THIS. MOVIE. RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS SHIT. HE BLEW THE DOORS WIDE OPEN, COME ON IN PLEASE!!!!!

What a genuinely astonishing way to document this entire event. Every single shot was meticulously calculated and intentional - all culminating into such a deep, comedic, yet tragic TRUE EVENT that completely sucked me in. I’m not exaggerating when i say that 2 of the 3 hours of this movie my jaw was to the FLOOR. IT IS THAT GOOD.

This movie completely took me on a ride. I laughed, i cried, i was angry, i went through it ALL. The marketing is GENIUS and completely subverts expectations… trust me. And even with a 3 hour runtime, i was BEGGING for more. I NEED JUSTICE!!!!

RUNNNNNN TO THE THEATER!!!!! SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!! AHHHH

Bonkers in the best possible way. Not only an incredible documentary but just an incredible piece of filmmaking. You’re gonna wanna see it with a crowd.

Watched the first screening at 2pm at Scotiabank Toronto. Even though it was in the middle of the day, it was almost full! They were handing out these badges outside after the screening.

Absolutely loved the streak Olivia Wilde has been on this year, The Invite was a top ten for me this year

I’m having a lot of fun making these dumb little doodles.

ETA: Seems like this was a rare experience and coincidence with the Alamo showing too. Glad to hear other people’s started at the expected post-trailer time! Leaving this post up just in case anyone wants to discuss but please be kind as I’ve gotten some weirdly threatening DMs from people and I was just trying to be helpful :( lots of love to all!

SHOW UP ON TIME! There are not full-length (25-30 minutes) trailers for You Can See Everything.

I’m usually someone who leaves home at showtime so I can get to the theatre at the very end of trailers. Today I thankfully left a little earlier… because there were only 10 minutes of previews (AMC Georgetown) and over half of the theatre missed the beginning of the film!

Texted a friend in TX who said they also had about 12 minutes of previews at an Alamo.

Has anyone else had this experience today?? Just want to make sure my fellow A24 lovers get to see the whole picture :)

The last year I haven’t received any postcards in any of my orders. Are y’all still getting them with y’all’s?

New novel ahead of the upcoming Crystal Lake series. $20 for non-members.

Decided to hope back into fun design work these past few weeks ended up with this!

Just watched IIHLIKY for the first time and I was blown away. On a personal level I feel like I can identify with Beau is Afraid way more, but the level of anxiety I had watching Legs was way more intense. It felt like I was watching a direct rebuttal to Beau and the crazy part is that Rose Byrne plays the maternal role in both movies. I can’t help but feel like it was intentional, especially at certain parts. Conan plays a ginger with glasses that doesn’t even attempt to grapple with Linda’s (Rose Byrne) trauma. The scenes where she’s literally watching a movie depicting a “Devouring” or “Oedipal” mother. Her patients (especially the young man) feel like they dropped in from an Ari Aster film. The young man’s T-Shirt says “F*CK” 3x as he vents about having dreams of intimacy with the only woman in his life, his therapist. I feel like it’s screaming mommy issues, but it also doesn’t relieve its target audience, ‘moms’ of the responsibility (I know the target audience is more than moms you know what I mean). But like I said earlier as someone with no kids that can identify with Beau I was like damn, being a single mom sounds like a nightmare. I can’t much on the internet about this but anyone else feel this way?

Edit: Rose Byrne was in fact not in Beau is Afraid

I just got tickets to the San Francisco screening and can confirm it’s free. All the cities and direct links to reserve are linked in the article. Not sure how limited they’ll be, so get a reservation quickly!

“You know, in the old days, when people would act so depraved, they’d drag you down to the town square and tie you to a post and whip you. For all to see. There used to be a pillory in every civilized town. Now there’s television in every home. That I’m on. So are you, Dan.”

-Chris Hansen, Primetime

Check your emails, mine was sent about 6pm, I only just saw it though

How inappropriate is primetime?? I want to see it for my bday, so my mom bought tickets for the whole family, including my 12 yr old brother. I don't really know what he's watched, but my parents are strict, and he's a bit sheltered. I think I would have been fine at 12, but I had way more internet access than he does. I'm just worried it will be awkward with my parents during the movie.

Started doodling and ended up with this weird thing haha. Thinking about doing some more A24 characters. Any suggestions for other characters?!

I've been reading a screenplay a week since high school and I cannot emphasize how masterful the Midsommar screenplay is. This may sound crazy but it's up there with Lawrence of Arabia. Ari's ability to visualize is unparalleled. I was simply blown away. Highly recommend it.

Just thought I’d share incase anyone who has access to SBS was interested. Looks like they are showcasing a bunch of A24 content at the moment.
