My favorite example of Estonia's "Let's copy Finland!" mentality has to be adopting Porilaisten marssi ("March of the People of Pori") as a military march song. I mean, there aren't exactly any people from Pori in Estonia, are there?
To be a bit more specific, it's been adopted as the Commander of the Defence Forces' march. Back when we still had a Defence Forces Orchestra where the musicians were active duty servicemembers, playing this march was strictly forbidden unless the Commander of the Defence Forces was present. Don't know how it's currently as all the orchestra members are civilians.
