Amplitude (2003) by Harmonix for the PlayStation 2 is arguably one of the best rhythm games to ever hit the market. But the original game has been trapped on the PS2 for ages. Emulation has been the only other way to play the game other than original hardware, but input lag creates a less-than-desirable experience.

Enter PROJECT AMP.

Thanks to the PS2Recomp project by Ranieri (ran-j), a native PC Port (static recompilation) has been born. There's nothing quite like blasting through gems on an old CRT TV, lag-free. Now with PROJECT AMP, you can experience it again in 4K 60p Widescreen, LAG-FREE.

Amplitude is a cult classic, and if you've never played it, you don't know what you're missing. Major gaming outlets have raved about it, but the game undersold worldwide. Now, in 2026 and beyond, this game can have a bright future. No big plastic guitars required. Just you and a controller.

FEATURES:

Play adrenaline-pumping ONLINE matches against other players around the world via PSRewired, built right into the game

Boot from a real Amplitude (PS2) disc (Take that Sony) or ISO (Results may vary based on DVD drive read speeds)

Widescreen and Ultra Widescreen support

Up to 8x native resolution

Import saves from real PS2 or PCSX2 virtual memory cards

Built-in cheat menu

Boot to Start Screen (Skips the intro loading screens and video)

Low latency and accurate timing

Other improvements to enhance the user's experience

COMING SOON:

Custom Song Tool - Easily bring your own custom music into the game and play through each track. Share your music with the world and allow people to compete to complete your song online.

Contrast Reduction Filter (for photosensitive users)

More improvements to enhance the user's experience

Question Why are SDVX songs so fast?

I'm serious. It's like they heard one Xi song and said "let's do that but worse, and then let's turn it into our whole soundtrack!" I know it's not the only rhythm game guilty of this but it's got to be the worst offender, right? The median BPM has to be like 240, man

PC Rhythm Game Custom charting for RhythmStrike has released!

RhythmStrike is a free-to-play PC rhythm game controlled with the keyboard and mouse, monetized through paid song packs that will eventually be purchasable within the game. On October 7th, custom charts became available to be uploaded to the Steam Workshop in the 0.4.0 release, such as the one seen in the above video (made by yours truly)! We hope to see what people are able to come up with for this game as it continues to evolve.

Download RhythmStrike here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3803270/RhythmStrike/

[Artists must be in the Approved Artist listing in order to be permitted for upload to the Steam Workshop.]

Mobile Rhythm Game I don't care if this is just on hard. I am so freaking proud of myself. Especially that I am fully F2P and did it in just on my phone. No tablet involved.

Maybe not a lot of people think the same as me, but i think mobile rhythm games are way harder on phones, and im tired of phone players not getting the recognition and support they deserve.

I am an engineer , a grinding founder by choice; Been working on this rhythm game for the past 3 + years went all in ; we use music from audius with the belief that the artist are getting fair/higher paid then mainstream platforms;
As u know music industry is not fair to the artists.

Many of our peers have folded , hypes come and go and
It hasn’t been a easy ride ( it sudnt be) and we still going on at our own pace , one step at a time ;

I understand some may say speed is the key ; but it was just us vs us , doing better than yesterday.

I know u guys here are more OG than me , but any feedback would mean a lot 🙏

Promotion I'm a solo dev making a rhythm FPS where you shoot robots to the beat. Just released a big update with difficulty levels and an entire new UI.

Hey r/rhythmgames! I'm the solo dev behind TUNESTRIKE, a rhythm FPS where the notes are robots that spawn to the music and you have to shoot them on the beat. Timing is judged like a regular rhythm game (PERFECT / GREAT / EARLY / LATE), but you're aiming with a mouse instead of hitting lanes.

Some robots need a different weapon, some carry shields and need two hits, and some are bombs you must NOT shoot, so you're reading the "chart" in 3D space.

Version 1.1 just came out, and it's the biggest update so far:

- Every song now has Easy, Normal and Hard (Hard is the original chart)

- A guided tutorial plus audio calibration (useful with wireless headphones)

- Ranks are now based on accuracy, and EARLY/LATE hits no longer break your combo

- A per-song lighting mood, a new HUD and results screen, and a full UI redesign

- Global leaderboards per difficulty

All the music is original, and the soundtrack is instrumental (made by me).

Coming next: a weekly challenge in endless mode (the song loops and speeds up until you run out of lives, with a global leaderboard) and osu!-style modifiers (Hidden, Sudden Death, Perfect Only, speed-ups...).

I'd really love feedback from rhythm game players, especially on timing feel and chart readability. Thanks for watching!
