Hey r/rhythmgames! I'm the solo dev behind TUNESTRIKE, a rhythm FPS where the notes are robots that spawn to the music and you have to shoot them on the beat. Timing is judged like a regular rhythm game (PERFECT / GREAT / EARLY / LATE), but you're aiming with a mouse instead of hitting lanes.
Some robots need a different weapon, some carry shields and need two hits, and some are bombs you must NOT shoot, so you're reading the "chart" in 3D space.
Version 1.1 just came out, and it's the biggest update so far:
- Every song now has Easy, Normal and Hard (Hard is the original chart)
- A guided tutorial plus audio calibration (useful with wireless headphones)
- Ranks are now based on accuracy, and EARLY/LATE hits no longer break your combo
- A per-song lighting mood, a new HUD and results screen, and a full UI redesign
- Global leaderboards per difficulty
All the music is original, and the soundtrack is instrumental (made by me).
Coming next: a weekly challenge in endless mode (the song loops and speeds up until you run out of lives, with a global leaderboard) and osu!-style modifiers (Hidden, Sudden Death, Perfect Only, speed-ups...).
I'd really love feedback from rhythm game players, especially on timing feel and chart readability. Thanks for watching!
