I remember when I used to attend Carver many years there were these peanut butter bars we would sometimes get during breakfast. Does anyone remember and happen to have the recipe? And it's possible I'm misremembering and they were from 4th ave Middle School

Any store here in Yuma has a store or thrift store that sells CRT TVs for a reasonable price as well as some good physical media such as dvds and cds etc

I moved here a few years ago. And I've spoken to people who moved here as well and expressed the same experience of people just having a weird staring problem. You walk in a restaurant, and everyone looks back or grocery store. You're in a park the men all turn and look at you when you set up. You're in a public area its common, and it's typically the cowboy type or just guys who look locally from here. I'm from in-between the city and county out of state, and we just mind our business and pass people along. Here, there's like a 20-mile cowboy stare that just comes off as disrespectful and bad mannered. It's not the women who do this, it seems to be all the 35+ men doing that shit .

Any other folk experience this? Btw I'm a respectful person. I don't cause trouble, I do stand confident when I'm out and about, though, so idk if that's an issue or comes off some way to locals. As far as folks not from here, they've been great and some of younger locals are cool.

Hello! I’m a 26 yrs old M and new to Yuma and i am living here part-time for work.

I wanted to check out a Swanky Place Halloween goth party next Wednesday and wanted to know if anyone else is available to join me.

i am laid back, chill and looking to make new friends in yuma! My main interests are nature, gaming, live music and watching movies.

I lived in (or been to most of) other places in Arizona

We have lived in Nevada since 2014- 7 years in Vegas now Reno the last 4 years.

it’s just my husband and i and we want out of this state but i know california would be more expensive.

How has Yuma faired from this wacky storm?? Hope ya'll are doing ok!!

EDIT(again lol) 2: Just looked at current radar and the storm center is now way northwest of you guys - to the east of Joshua Tree - So all good!!

EDIT 1: Rachel is the name of one of the three currently active storms heading into the United States.

It's a tropical storm with close to hurricane force winds. Its bands have been hitting San Diego and the rest of the lower So Cal coast for 2-3 days with flooding much past the usual areas.

At whatever strength by which time it may or may not affect Yuma at all, NOAA mapping is still showing it as being headed just to the northwest of Yuma (the actual path being almost exactly between San Diego and Yuma, but the southeast storm band includes all of Yuma).

No on this loser for sure. "John LeSueur is a career lawyer with no experience as a judge. He previously served as policy advisor to the chair of the Arizona Corporation Commission, which oversees utility rate increases. During LeSueur’s time advising the Commission, the average cost of power for Arizona homes increased 22%. While he worked for the Commission, LeSueur testified in support of his boss, who was being prosecuted for seeking $300,000 worth of land in exchange for a “yes” vote to raise the price of water for Arizona families."

I will be moving to Yuma soon for a new job with a HUGE increase in salary I cannot turn down (before anyone asks my purpose in moving here).

I will be temporarily staying at an Airbnb while I take my time to look at potential apartments. Any suggestions or tips on areas, complexes, and other factors I should consider in my search? Also very much open to hearing about negative experiences with complexes/landlords or areas to avoid.

Some non-negotiables are AC, in unit w/d, and pet friendly. I know it is very affordable to live here, but for reference, I can comfortably afford anything >$1750/month.

Thanks so much in advance for your input!☺️
