Scored this Trek 750 for $10
Bought this for $10 off a guy who found it tossed on the curb. Can't believe my luck its in my size and my favorite color scheme. It definitely needs work though it has a lot of chips in the paint, cracked rear wheel rim, and a stuck seat post. Is the best way to get the seat post out to dissolve it as some have mentioned? I don't want to damage this frame now that I've finally got it.

Rocky Mountain Fusion town cruiser
No major changes required in bringing this beauty back to life. I'm happy with the update and I'm keeping it in my arsenal as my town cruiser.
Just wanted to share some Canadian bicycle love.

budget Big Cog Energy
Shimano HG400 11-40 cassette paired with a M3020-8 derailleur. $61 for the pair on Performance. I wasn’t convinced but Riv sells it so we’ll see

Fair Price for a serviced Hardrock?
*edit* obviously got my bikes with rock in the name mixed up, it's a rockhopper.
Hey guys, looking for an atb that I can put my toddlers bike seat on. Basically just something I'll ride around the neighborhood on with her, maybe some longer bike path rides. Was thinking of finding something for $100 or 150 and tuning it up myself, there's a guy like a mile away who seems to be doing the same thing tho. This rockhopper came up and looks good, comes with the original rigid for which is a huge plus for me. Does the price seem about right?

I’ve had this bike for 16yrs
I’ve put more miles on it this year than ever. 18 miles a day round trip, it’s been a blast.
it’s a 1989 Raleigh Technium Pre. steel lugs and aluminum tubes. Original components except it has vintage Matrix wheels which were likely from a Trek I’d assume. it had a nice Cinelli bottle cage and Campagnalo Chorus Aero pedals. I sold the pedals to freshen it up. new tires and brake pads. adjustable stem, new bars, brake levers and Ergons. all new cables. my only regret is the 23 width tires but I’m 2010 there wasn’t much available locally like there is now. I’ll probably go as wide as possible when I upgrade next summer. thoughts?

Kuwahara Sierra
Can anybody point me to some info on this bike? I bought it just like this, and all I know about it is that it has a sick paint job. There’s no serial number on the bottom bracket, I can’t find much about it from my googling.

Raleigh technium MT400
Just bought this today for $70, i rode it 11 kilometers on the way back home and it shifts well and feels light on the dirt and road. Will be getting a seat tomorrow. I liked the feeling of it as this is my first big bike. Any tips? Was it worth it?

Before and after
1973? Ted Williams Free Spirit by Puch for Sears. Had a buddy help a lot with the cabling and diff options. It's almost finished. Gonna do some paint, diff stem and maybe a diff wheel set. Rides great. Slightly too big for me, but she floats.

My new (old) bike, a Raleigh Coco
Got this really cheap on Marletplace, very good condition as the guy just had it in his garage for 30 years. I've put new handlebars, wheels, tires, and brakes on, also relubed the headset as it was pretty dry. It rides really well!
I may change the drivetrain at some point, but it'll be a job and a half as it has an ashtabula one piece crank. It also can't reach the lowest gear, but thats fine for now as its just a fun bike, not likely to go up any big hills.
I've not seen any of these around, and can't find much info online either, but I've also got a Raleigh Lizard and they go together nicely

The path toward home
I often take this route, but today some roadwork forced me to detour through the fields, and I got to enjoy this beautiful sunset.

1997(?) Bianchi Volpe flat bar road build
Little story of the build:
As my bike building obsession grew over the past year, I wound up accumulating different parts for different bikes. A couple of which I took apart after being unhappy with different things on other frames (mostly involving geometry).
I randomly picked up this light touring frame on a whim for like 60 bucks. Figured I’d make it into a klunker of some kind. I ended up having some higher end components around (brooks saddle, dia compe stuff, etc) to kinda suit my aesthetic and functional sensibilities haha. (Also treated myself to a Ron’s Bikes bag).
Fun to ride around on 700c’s — my other bike is a GT 26er, so this is a nice variety. Wish I could stuff bigger tires in there, but whatever. That’ll be a thing to look for on my next bike.
Was thrilled to find the red and blue chainrings and swapping those in, makes for a fun accent.
First pic is most recent, second is before I changed the brake levers and grips.

Suspension forks are shot, looking to convert to rigid. Do I need to look for suspension corrected forks or should I be good? RockShox Indy C on DiamondBack Apex

trek 930 1994 bikepacking
made it from sf to reno on this piece of shit https://www.reddit.com/r/bikepacking/comments/1x6ydpu/san_francisco_to_reno/
it's not particularly upgraded, but it's in pretty good shape: previous owner installed v-brakes, then I put in a shimano altus derailleur and 32t cassette, plus standard maintenance stuff like replacing all the housing/cables and of course adding the bags.
My next plan is to rebuild the wheels with alex adventure 2 rims to go tubeless because I got 5 flats on my 7. I'm expecting the rebuild to be quite a challenge and am open to any advice I can get there.

Is it safe to drill/tap dropouts for rear rack?
So I have I bikepacking trip coming up and last time the p-clamps I used broke and messed up my paint before they broke. So I’m wondering if I can drill my dropouts to hard mount my rear rack. The frame is chromoly and the dropouts are 7mm thick on the thickest parts. I marked where I think they would go

700c rim brake rims that support wide tyres?
Where is everybody finding 700c rims with support for rim brakes and a wide internal width to support tyres of 40mm+? The only options I've seen are the velocity cliffhangers and crust rims, both of which are quite expensive. I don't mind learning to build a wheel but I also don't want to spend my entire paycheck on just one part of my bike
