I saw someone post about this specific camp a couple of days ago, since i just came home from Georgia this morning i wanted to share my experience.
Basics of what the camp includes:
- 2 training sessions every day morning and evening
- 3 meals a day as much as you can eat
- accomodation in a hotel in Tbilisi rooms are shared
- transfer from and to the airport
- daytrip to the mountains and other activities of choice
The whole experience was so incredible i can’t even put it together in words, the level of wrestling is so high, i learned more than i did in all the months i trained in the Netherlands. Ask me anything and i will reply as soon as possible :)

The wrestling season is almost here, so figured I would rate 10 different pairs of wrestling shoe’s I’ve purchased so far in 2026. A bit of background about me, I have been collecting wrestling shoes for over 15 years at this point. Wrestling has been a part of my life for 32 years. I now coach wrestling at both the youth and highschool level.
For this list, the shoe has to still be available. So no Rulons, Kolat Speeds, original Inflicts, Adistars, etc.
FFB Postlude - $150 Got my first pair last fall and have added four more colorways since. Best all-around shoe on the list IMO. Great grip, really comfortable, light, and surprisingly durable for a flashy shoe. They even come with multiple insoles. Only complaint is they’re a tad pricey, but I think they’re worth it.
Nidrogen Aero - $130 I was skeptical because of all the hype, but these are legit. Extremely light, great grip, and weirdly good when the mats get sweaty. Postlude wins on comfort, Aero wins on that fast/minimal feeling.
Nike Inflict 4 - $120 Solid shoe. Nothing really wrong with it. My biggest complaint is grip once you get a packed room and the mats get damp. Otherwise, classic Inflict feel and probably one of the safer buys out there.
ASICS EX-EO - $275 Technically still available through resellers, but you’re usually paying an arm and a leg. Take price out of it and it’s a really good shoe. Light, durable, decent feel. At reseller prices though? Absolutely not worth it when there are better options for less.
Nidrogen GenOne - $99 Best value on here. Very comfortable and basically the same outsole/grip setup I like on the Aero. A little heavier, which is honestly the only reason I have it this low. I’m getting pretty nitpicky at this point.
Adidas Speedex Ultra - $190 Had high hopes because I loved the old Adistars. These just didn’t give me that same sock-like feel. Mine also started fraying around the zipper area. Not a bad shoe at all, just way too expensive IMO.
ASICS Aggressor 6 - $160 This one disappointed me. Heavier than I expected and I didn’t love the grip. They do feel durable, but I only wore them a few times before giving them to one of the kids I coach. I miss the Rulon/Aggressor 1 era.
Rudis Kolat - $165 Probably my biggest disappointment. I loved the old Nike Kolat Speeds, so I really wanted to like these. Mine felt heavy, bulky, and uncomfortable compared with what I expected at this price.
Rudis JB1 - $145 Mine started falling apart after about three weeks. That pretty much killed it for me.
Venum Elite - $140 Mine didn’t hold up well either. Also never loved the feel. They felt more like sneakers than wrestling shoes to me.
Shoes I haven’t tried yet but want to: Nike Footsweep 2, Adidas Combat Speed 4, Cronin, Nidrogen Ravage, ASICS Dan Gable EVO 3
Happy to chat wrestling shoes any time! If there’s shoes out there that I didn’t mention, drop them in the comments.

I’ve done a couple classes of wrestling but it’s an “all levels” gym. And it can be a bit fast. At least for me. They don’t have a fundamentals or beginner class but MMA does. I was wondering if anyone had experience with both. Is it easier to learn the basics and maybe go back to wrestling after some time there? I’m in my 30s. Looking to be the best all around fighter I can be. Not really like competing in wrestling tournaments. But I understand the usefulness.
Do MMA classes teach you enough of stuff like Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, and bjj so that you don’t necessarily need the individual classes?

So to give some context, I wanted to join wrestling but my counselor told me I can’t change my schedule because the first quarter is done and I won’t get credit for it. I told her it’s ok I don’t need to get the credit but she still refused and told me to talk to the coach about practicing after school which I did and he said yes. I was wondering if I could compete in the tournaments even if I’m not on the official roster I guess? Also I live in Texas and I’m a senior.

Do you wrestle on a school team, college team, club or class?
What is the unspoken culture.
What happens when coach isn't there?
What is the attitude towards people that leave?

I am a coach in VA and I want to learn and/or share with other coaches on this page. Ikigai
What are the practice drills you conduct or learned that you enjoy the most or elicit the biggest jump in technique, mental toughness, endurance, etc in your wrestlers?

Hey! So I've been hearing a ton of do's and don'ts about creatine, creatine helped me a LOT during weightlifting, and I was wondering if it'd do the same for wrestling, and if so what are the pro's and cons of it during wrestling? I don't have to cut any weight and I'm about 8 pounds under my weight class.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there are any fan clubs that hold wrestling watch parties? Specifically Penn state fans in NYC area? Since Big 10 wrestling championships are in Ohio this year - wondering if anyone hosts a watch party?

It takes place on a standard sized wrestling mat.

so I’m a girl, about 115 pounds and I’m about 5’4 so I’m already pretty lean. I wrestled 115 last year and I wanted to go 110 this year… I love eating healthy and I have no problem cutting weight. I waited around 121-122 last year and cut the weight to make 115 but didn’t do it properly, I’m about 18 years old now and I think my body just lost extra fat or something, I don’t know how I lost weight but I’m naturally sitting at 115 now so I obviously wanna drop to the lower weight class. when I was cutting weight last year I would just go cold turkey, and stop eating a couple days before my tournament which I don’t wanna do obviously… so how do I eat throughout the week while still making weight on a Saturday? say it’s Monday before my tournament, how much should I eat and how much should I eat and drink throughout the week? I eat a lot of chicken and I can make lean turkey and rice cakes, etc. I just need to know if i should stop eating as much on like a Friday or something like that.

Im 19 and just started greco. Like 3 weeks ago and i can only go 3 times a week because of uni. I want to train regardless but i just want to know how much i can realistically achieve starting this late. I dont have a crazy base, not that athletic, i used to go to the gym and i could do weighted pull ups at 88kg with a 20kg plate and 60kg OHP for 8 reps. My leg strength was even worse i could front squat 90kg. I know its not much but thats all the experience i have working out. My coach said he knows a guy that became a world champion and he started at 19 as well. I dont really trust him tho wikipedia says he started early. I know its kind of a bullshit question, i am realistic, i know the chances of becoming good are really low but still wanted to hear the opinions of those with more experience

Hey Guys,
I've owned some Cliff Keen Wraptor knee pads for years. Up until today, ive never had any issues with them! They slide around quite alot but i dont mind too much because the impact protection has been great.
However today i had the fest bit of knee pain. This could be due to the proection being worn down over years and finally reducing their protection. But I'm thinking it may be time to get some new pads.
I trust Cliff Keen so am happy to stay with that brand, but looking at the website there are the Wraptors, Impact and Airbrace. And im struggling to decide which to go with!
Does anyone have any experience with them? ideally multiple?
