Fluff (original post was removed) the bear in the Forever cinematic looks accurate to real life bears, not "disneyfied"

as a bear enjoyer and guardian druid main wanted to respond to this exact point some members of the internet community have done. that's the entire premise of my post.
*added the cinematic shot as reference because the original post contained only the real life bears and didn't fit the guidelines

Fluff I met my husband on WoW, had a druid-themed wedding and the guild all turned up!

We met in guild five years ago, met three years ago, and tied the knot three weeks ago! I walked down the aisle to the Teldrassil soundtrack and we got married by a lake in the woods. My GM, raid leader, and host of fellow guildies all showed up and met each other for the first time! If you find yourself running M+ and think he might be the one -- take it outside of Azeroth, trust me :)

Fluff For a story that wants to forget about Arthas, Blizzard sure loves to use him a lot in advertisements

Post image

Content Warning: Rant

I'm specifically talking about the notorious cutscene from Sepulcher of the First Ones, where the last remnant of Arthas' soul is treated to a fate worse than solo pugging M+.

Rather than a redemption to his character, or allowing characters like Uther or Jaina (who were in the room as it happened) to send him off, Arthas' soul is treated to the voice of Sylvanas who sends him off with a ridiculous monologue about "his legacy having reached an end and his existence to be forgotten" or in Sylvanas' on words:

"May the last whisper of your name fade and be forgotten"

And yet what we often see in different advertisements for WoW, especially those that wish to remind you of WoW's great legacy, Arthas the Lich King usually makes an appearance despite the fact that the last time he made a proper appearance was 17 years ago.

Yes, Arthas' death in Icecrown Citadel is almost old enough to drive.

Like an old wound that keeps reopening, every time I see Arthas in one of these medias, I am only reminded to the travesty that was Shadowlands.

Anyway, rant over.

...You are my people.

Dear Blizzard: A short "Don't remind me" would the correct, non user-hostile option here — no time limit. (My answer will never change, no matter how many times you ask!)

And yes, I know it's an MMO. But privacy still matters, and I expect my socializing to be on my own terms!

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Just hit 34 yo and recently reconciled myself with WoW (both retail and Classic) after having last actively played the game during Cataclysm.

Nothing special, just wanted to share this.

I know my setup is crappy :/

Fluff Apparently, our WoW guild meetups are a tradition now

Post image

Last year I posted here about our first proper guild meetup. I wasn't really sure why I was sharing it at the time, other than being genuinely proud that a bunch of people who originally met through World of Warcraft had somehow turned into an actual community outside the game.

Well… we did it again.

From August 27th to 30th, Equilibrium Celestials got together for our second official guild meetup - four days away from WoW, Discord, M+ score and damage meters, and four days of actually spending time together in the same place.

And somehow, the second year felt even more special.

Once again, people travelled from all over to make it happen, some covering hundreds of kilometres just to spend a few days with people they originally knew as character names on a screen. We booked the place in advance, planned the whole weekend and managed to get a pretty damn good part of the guild together.

We also took things a little further this year.

We had our own competitions, games and challenges throughout the meetup, complete with prizes and rewards. Some were competitive, some were ridiculous, and some probably made a lot more sense after a few drinks. There was plenty of food, late-night conversations, endless inside jokes and, naturally, enough WoW talk to make it obvious that none of us actually escaped Azeroth for the weekend.

But honestly, the organised stuff wasn't even the best part.

It's the weird little moments in between. Sitting around doing absolutely nothing. Hearing people laugh about something that happened in a dungeon months ago. Finally putting real faces, voices and personalities together without a headset in between. Watching people who live hundreds of kilometres apart interact like they've known each other forever.

That's probably the coolest thing about running a guild for me.

WoW is ultimately just a game. Servers will eventually go offline, expansions come and go, metas change, people reroll, guilds disband and characters we've spent thousands of hours playing will one day just sit there untouched.

But some of the people you meet along the way stay.

When I started this community, I definitely wasn't thinking that one day we'd be booking accommodation, travelling across countries and organising real-life guild competitions together.

Yet here we are.

Second meetup done. Four days together. One hell of a group of people. And apparently, this is a tradition now.

I still don't really know why I'm posting this on Reddit.

I guess I'm just proud of what we built. ❤️

See you next year, guildies.

Fluff "i pump trust"

Post image
1.4k Upvotes

I have to stop inviting pumpers...

Edit: This was a +10 AA, also for Blizzard's damage meters, when it's set to "current" it will automatically show overall after the run is finished. It's easily reproduceable.

Edit: You guys do know that Details is just a UI skin for Blizzard's default damage meter now right..... This is public information.... due to API limitation Details can only get it's data from..... the default Blizzard damage meter.
