Developer I'm building a desktop AI video editor that lets you edit videos using Claude/ChatGPT

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi friends,

I'm one of the co-founders of Daydream, a desktop AI video editor that connects to Claude/ChatGPT.

Daydream gives your agents a full editing toolkit so it can do things like

  • Make precise cuts
  • Remove filler words and silences
  • Create motion graphics
  • Create custom captions
  • Set keyframes and audio ducking
  • Color grade and color correct
  • Sync multi-clip audio and video
  • Export to MP4, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut
  • and more!

Daydream also gives you a nice, familiar editing interface where you can easily preview, tweak, or iterate on any edits made by the AI

We just released on Windows, so it's now available on both Windows and Mac, so I thought I'd share it here!

If you're interested, you can use it for free - https://www.daydreamvideo.com/

Discussion Why I’m calling out the reviews targeting Notchify and other Windows notch apps

Why I’m calling out the reviews targeting Notchify and other Windows notch apps

I’m the developer of Notchify. I’m sharing the account connections, review timestamps and Reddit comments behind my accusation that NotchPixel’s developer and a friend have been coordinating negative reviews against competing apps.

The attached screenshots show the name matches and closely timed Store reviews that led me to identify Karan, NotchPixel’s developer, and his friend. The two reviews were posted 19 minutes and 31 seconds apart. I’ve found the same pattern targeting other notch apps, alongside hostile Reddit comments from accounts I believe are connected.

The reviews accuse Notchify of high CPU usage and repeated crashes. However, version 5.6.1.0, the version listed in those reviews, does not appear in the Microsoft crash-reporting chart attached here. That alone doesn’t prove there were no crashes, and I welcome reproducible reports that let me investigate specific problems.

Meanwhile, NotchPixel offers features already present in competing notch apps. Its website also closely resembles notchify.app; archived versions provide a way to compare the designs and their timeline. There’s nothing wrong with competing in the same category. Attacking other developers while presenting familiar features as a reason your own app is superior is another matter.

My accusation is straightforward: this is a coordinated effort to damage competitors’ reputations while promoting NotchPixel. The screenshots explain why I’m making that accusation, and I’m putting them here for the community and moderators to scrutinize.

Criticism is fair. Genuine bug reports are welcome. Coordinated attacks disguised as independent user feedback are not.

I wanted this community to see how these people conduct themselves. Coordinated harassment and vote manipulation would also violate this sub’s rules, and I hope the moderators review the evidence and take appropriate action.

There’s also the issue of blocking critics. If you’ve previously left a negative comment about their app, check whether you can still access their profiles.

Developer I built Jot! Clipboard for Windows. Clipboard history + a floating notepad. Giving away [50 free copies]!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted a clipboard manager that could remember the things I copied throughout the day, but also give me somewhere to quickly jot things down without switching apps. So I ended up building both!

Here's what it does:

  • Clipboard history — Remembers copied text, links, images, and files.
  • Floating Jot pad — An optional little notepad you can move, resize, hide, or collapse into a tiny pill.
  • Deep search + OCR — Find old copies, even text detected inside images.
  • MultiCopy — Collect multiple copied values into reusable sets. Handy for forms and repetitive tasks.
  • Organization — Favorites, pins, filters, and adjustable history retention.
  • Privacy — Sensitive-content protection, local storage, and no required account.
  • Light & dark mode — Switch between themes whenever you like.

You can use just the clipboard manager, just the floating notepad, or both. I wanted to keep everything simple and optional.

It's available on the Microsoft Store for $2.99 one-time, no subscription.

I'm also giving away free lifetime licenses to celebrate! If you'd like one, just comment below and I'll DM you a Microsoft Store redemption code.

Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n1b4fvlml5q

Website: https://jotclipboard.com

I also recently added an interactive demo to the website, so you can actually try copying things, searching, using MultiCopy, and playing with the floating note before downloading anything.

Would love to hear what you think! Especially any features you'd like to see or things I could improve.

I'm also developer behind ClingNote, a Windows notes app that attaches notes to your files and projects.

UPDATE: ! Due to all the interest, I'm doubling the giveaway from 50 to 100+ FREE lifetime licenses! 🎉

I'm working through the comments and sending codes via DM as quickly as I can. I might not reply to every comment individually, but I'm still sending them out!

Thank you all for the support and interest in Jot!

.

UPDATE: 150+ FREE LIFETIME CODES GIVEN AWAY! 🎉

Wow, I genuinely didn't expect this much interest! Huge thanks to everyone who commented and gave Jot! Clipboard a shot.

Hope you all enjoy it! I'd love to hear your feedback once you've had a chance to use it. 😄

Thanks again for all the support!

App Separate Workspaces Per Monitor (Windows)

Hello,

I am a mac user and a windows user at the same time.

One thing I always miss when I am using my windows is the abillity to have separate worskapces per screen (a mac like experience).

For example, let's say I am using chrome on one screen and I need to switch between my code editor and my db client on my next screen it's either i have to alt tab between them or I have to have them side by side. If i have different workspaces when I change the workspace on Screen A, i have to change it on Screen B as well.

I decided to create an app that will allow me to have different workspaces on different monitors that can be switched independelty.

It's free, and will always be free. Feel free to check it out.

WinSpaces

Let me know if there is any problem that you find with it and need fixing.

Developer I built DrawnCamera, a free Windows 11 virtual camera that grades your video like a film

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey, I'm Nick. I made DrawnCamera, a virtual camera for Windows 11. You pick it once in Zoom, Teams, Meet, Discord or OBS and it sits between your webcam and the app.

What I wanted was film looks you can put on the whole picture or on the room only, so your real room can look like a film set while you stay yourself. There's also a subtle retouch that just makes you look a bit more rested. The Camera tab lets you set sharpness, brightness, contrast and color once for every preset — useful if your webcam has fixed focus and soft light. All the adjustments are free.

It uses the virtual camera that comes with Windows 11, no driver installed. Everything runs on your own PC, nothing leaves it.

The free plan has no time limit. For the first 30 days every premium feature is unlocked too.

I'd love your feedback on what feels useful and what could be improved.

Developer Windows 11 App testers needed. Only 10 Minutes.

Title: Looking for Windows 11 testers for a desktop overlay app I built (10 minutes, free to try)

Hi all, I'm a solo founder from South Africa. I built Hover, a desktop overlay for Windows. It has instant notes you can bind to the app or site you're working in, Smart Capture (ask AI about anything on your screen), a word lookup tool and voice dictation.

I develop on an old PC with no graphics card. On that machine, on Windows 11, the overlay briefly flickers when features open or close, but on Windows 10 it's smooth. I can't tell whether that's just my hardware, and I don't have another Windows 11 PC to check.

Would anyone with Windows 11 be willing to spend about 10 minutes on this? Install it, press Ctrl+Space for a quick note, open and close a few features (the app will ask you to sign in), and tell me:

- Your Windows version

- Whether your PC has a dedicated graphics card or only built-in graphics

- Whether you see any flicker when features open or close

Heads up: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will show a warning. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". If you'd rather not, no worries at all.

Download: https://tryhover.vercel.app

Any feedback helps, including "no flicker at all", which is useful to know too. Thank you!

Developer I built ClipSeek to search your videos by describing a scene

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I’m Daxia, the indie developer behind ClipSeek.

Remember a shot but can’t find the file? Type something like “a lake surrounded by mountains” to search your local videos and photos.

ClipSeek finds matching frames inside videos. You can jump to that moment and export the clip you need. You can also use a reference image to find similar visuals.

It’s useful for finding B-roll or digging through old footage without opening every file. AI indexing and search run on your computer, so your media stays on your device.

The free version supports up to 5 GiB of imported media. Pro removes the limit with a one-time purchase.

I’m giving away 20 permanent Pro activation codes. Leave a comment if you’d like one, and I’ll send codes by private message. Feedback is welcome, but not required.

Developer Free,Stackyard: open-source tool that shows every SDK and toolchain on your Mac or PC, which projects use each one, and what's safe to delete

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I kept running out of disk space and found 6 Flutter versions, 3 Android NDKs, 4 Node versions and a 13 GB emulator I hadn't started in a year. Version managers are great at installing things, but nothing told me which ones my projects still needed.

So I built Stackyard, a desktop app for Windows and macOS:

  • Every toolchain in one window: Flutter, Node.js, the Android SDK, Java, Python, .NET, Gradle and Xcode simulators, plus the frameworks your projects use (React, Next.js, Vue and more)
  • Knows which project uses what: it reads .nvmrc, package.json, .fvmrc, build.gradle, local.properties, .python-version, global.json and more, so every installed version shows the projects that need it and the unused ones stand out
  • Problems come with a fix button: a project pinning a version you don't have, a broken JAVA_HOME, dead or duplicate PATH entries, a Java too new for your Gradle
  • Installs any version of Node, Python, Java, Go, Rust, Flutter and more, straight from the publisher and checked against their hash
  • Cleans up old projects: node_modules, build, .dart_tool and Pods in projects you haven't touched in months, which come back on the next build
  • Emulators and simulators: every Android emulator and iOS simulator with its size and last start, plus Xcode's simulator runtimes (often 8 GB each)

It shows every step before running it, removes to the Trash by default, and never edits your projects. No account, no telemetry. MIT licensed.

Feedback is very welcome. If it's useful, a star on GitHub helps others find it.

Developer I built Surprint, an offline screen translator for Windows that overlays translations on apps

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I've been working on Surprint, a Windows screen translation app, and I'm sharing it here to get some real-world feedback.

The idea is simple: instead of copying text into Google Translate or changing your Windows language, Surprint reads the text already visible on your screen and draws the translation over the original text.

You can use keyboard shortcuts to translate the monitor under your cursor, the active window, or a specific area you select. There's also a live translation mode for keeping an eye on one window.

Some of the features I've built so far:

  • Offline screen translation: Download a language pair once, then translate without an internet connection.
  • Game and app translation: Read text exposed by applications or use OCR for text in games (Exclusive fullscreen games need to run borderless windowed), images, and other content.
  • Translation overlay: Display translations over the original text or in a movable, resizable subtitle bar.
  • Custom shortcuts: Trigger translations without leaving the application you're using.
  • Glossary: Keep specific names, brands, and game terminology consistent.
  • Per-app settings: Configure different languages and translation displays for different applications.
  • Copy and text-to-speech: Right-click a translation to copy it or hear it using a Windows voice.

A quick disclaimer: Surprint is still a work in progress, and I don't want to present it as a perfect translation tool.

The OCR can miss small, faint, or stylized text. Scrolling and rapidly changing content can cause delays, and the offline translation models can lose some nuance. Some protected screens aren't supported, and exclusive-fullscreen games need to run in borderless windowed mode.

For now, translation runs locally on your PC after the necessary models have been downloaded. Cloud translation services for potentially better results are planned, but they aren't available yet.

It supports 64-bit Windows 10 version 2004 or later.

I'm particularly interested in feedback from people who translate games, read foreign-language websites, or use software that doesn't offer their preferred language.

You can check out Surprint , the link is in comment section!

I'd appreciate hearing what works, what doesn't, and which applications or languages you'd like to see supported better.

Developer I made Wedge: a free, open-source file shelf that slides out of the edge of your screen when you start dragging

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Windows has no good place to put a file "just for now". Mine ended up on the desktop or lost in Downloads, so I built Wedge.

How it works:

- Start dragging any file (from File Explorer, the desktop or a browser) and colored shelf tabs slide out of the right edge of the screen. Drop it on one and keep working.

- Click a tab and that shelf opens as a drawer. Drag the file straight into any app: an email, a chat, an upload form.

- Your files stay where they are on disk. Wedge only remembers them.

A few other things it does:

- Real previews, and search inside PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files

- A Pocket: collect files from different folders, then drag them all out at once

- Right-click > Add to Wedge in File Explorer, Ctrl+V, or send from your phone by scanning a QR code

- Shared shelves backed by a Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox folder

- Temporary shelves that clear themselves, plus notes, tags and reminders

- Ctrl+Shift+Space opens a drawer from anywhere, and the tabs step aside for full-screen games and videos

It's small and private: a 5 MB installer (Tauri + Rust, using the WebView2 that comes with Windows), no CPU use while it waits at the edge, no account, no telemetry. MIT licensed, for Windows 10 and 11.

Heads-up: it isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you the first time (More info > Run anyway). The source and the builds are on GitHub.

Website: https://wedge.regncreative.com

GitHub: https://github.com/Regncreative/Wedge

It used to be called Stash; 2.0 is a rebuild under the new name. I'd love feedback, especially on what would make you keep something like this on your screen edge.

Developer I made a Dynamic Island for Windows: music, tasks, live scores, and a ping when AI Agent is done working

Hey all, I am showcasing my product today. WinNotch is a small notch that sits at the top of your screen (or on the left or right edge) and shows what's going on without opening anything:

- Now playing from Spotify, with a wave coloured from the album art

- Tasks, notes and a focus timer, with the countdown right in the notch

- Alt+K for quick maths, or to add a task from anywhere

- A ping when Claude Code or Codex finishes or has a question

- Live scores for football, cricket, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and rugby, with a card showing who scored

- Redrawn volume and brightness pop-ups, and modes (Alt+M) for system stats or a bigger sports view

Hover over it to open the full workspace. Everything stays on your PC.

I am taking every feedback, and adding more features!

What should it show next?

Developer I Built a Fast, Lightweight YouTube Downloader for Windows Using Rust + Slint

I've been working on YouTube Downloader Desktop, a free, open-source Windows application built with Rust and Slint.

I wanted to create something simple: a fast, lightweight downloader with a proper desktop interface, instead of relying on browser extensions, command-line tools, or complicated setup.

Here's what it can do:

  • Download videos in the best available quality, including 1080p and 720p.
  • Convert videos to MP3 or save available English captions.
  • Browse YouTube channels, search their video lists, and choose exactly what to download.
  • Manage multiple downloads with progress tracking, cancellation, history, and retry options.
  • Choose where files are saved and switch between dark Red and Mono themes.
  • Run as a portable Windows app without installing Python or separate downloader tools.

One of my main priorities was keeping it fast, responsive, and lightweight. It's built natively with Rust and Slint, with RAM usage around 120 MB in my experience, although that varies depending on what the app is doing.

It's still in Beta, and I'm actively improving the performance, interface, and reliability.

The whole project is free and open source under AGPL-3.0. I'd appreciate feedback, suggestions, and contributions.

Developer Still adjusting the volume for every game and bracing for the blast on launch? I made a free app for that

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! Solo dev from Japan here (sorry if my English is a bit off).

You know that moment when you launch a game and the title screen blasts you at full volume? And since every game has a different volume, I was always grabbing the volume knob whenever I switched games. That's why I made GGKeeper.

How it works:

  • It detects a PC game the moment it starts and begins a little quieter
  • It measures how loud the game actually is, then sets that game's own volume in the Windows volume mixer so it lands at your usual level
  • It adjusts only right after launch and then stays fixed, so quiet and loud scenes keep their difference
  • Next time you launch that game, it uses the remembered level right away

Also:

  • Chat mode: one press makes the current game even quieter when you want to talk
  • Exclude games or set a manual volume per game
  • Never touches your overall volume, other apps or your mic
  • Doesn't inject into games or read their memory. Audio is only measured on your PC, never recorded or sent

Free, beta, Windows 11 (Windows 10 is being tested). I'd love to hear which games it misses or gets wrong.

Developer I built a Windows tool to export folder trees and sorted file lists from the right-click menu

Post image
6 Upvotes

I built Folder Scanner, a Windows utility that turns a folder’s contents into a readable TXT report directly from File Explorer’s right-click menu. You can export a folder tree, include file and folder sizes, or generate a flat list sorted by size, date, name, or type - with multiple sorting rules combined.

You can choose which fields appear, rearrange them, and save your preferred output folder. It runs locally, supports English, Kazakh, and Russian, and comes in compact and standalone versions. Details and downloads: https://dallasalgo.kz/en/project/folder-scanner

I’d love to hear what would make it more useful for your workflow.

Developer Taskbar Groups Fluent: group your taskbar apps into one icon, with Windows 11 glass and four panel layouts

I made a Windows 11 take on Taskbar Groups. You pin a group to the taskbar and its apps show up in a panel with real Windows 11 glass when you click it, or when you rest the cursor on it (optional, off by default). The panel can be a grid, a row, a column or a list, and you can import your groups from Taskbar Groups and AppGroup.

- Every installed app, desktop or Store, in one searchable list with the right icons.

- Image, colour emoji or the group's own apps as the group icon.

- Apps and folders in the same group, and a right-click menu to open them all.

- Light or dark, English or Spanish.

- Per-user install, no admin, no telemetry. Free and open source (MIT).

Download: https://github.com/Mun1to/TaskbarGroupsFluent/releases/latest

Website: https://tbgf.munito.dev

I'm actively developing it (19 releases since June), so tell me what's missing and it can make the next one.

App SynchroDeck – stream your Windows screen and system audio to TVs and browsers over LAN

Post image
5 Upvotes

I originally built SynchroDeck for myself because my PC was connected through Ethernet while my TV was using Wi-Fi, and I couldn't find a screen streaming solution that worked the way I wanted. What started as a simple solution to my own problem eventually grew into something much bigger, with features like MultiWatch and MultiWatch Gaming. It captures your Windows desktop and system audio and streams them over your LAN to other devices, without sending the stream through an external cloud service. The receiving side can be another Windows device, Android, a compatible TV, or simply a browser, so in many cases nothing extra needs to be installed on the receiving device. It supports individual quality and FPS settings for different devices, hardware encoding with fallback, QR/code pairing, and MultiWatch. One of the more unusual features is MultiWatch Gaming: you can open multiple live streams as floating pop-up windows, resize them and place them anywhere on your screen. This can be used to keep live views of teammates visible while gaming, watch several perspectives at once, or keep dashboards, graphs, streams or a show visible while doing something else. Current latency in my latest tests is around 150 ms. I’m already working on the next round of latency improvements, with a target of roughly 40–50 ms. I also haven’t noticed any audio/video drift during longer tests so far. My main goal was to keep everything simple and local while giving more control than normal screen mirroring. I’d be interested in feedback from other Windows users, especially anyone who regularly streams their PC to a TV or another device. Developer Looper: A New FOSS Music Player for Windows

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

A few months a go i got into the rabbit hole of FOSS Windows music players and came out not satisfied with what i found. But in that search i found a good looking player https://github.com/sthrnilshaaa/looper but it only had support for android and Linux.

So, i decided to fork it and add a bunch of new features and design it mainly for the desktop in mind. And So here is the result https://github.com/mikiyasmechalo/looper, A highly customizable music player for the desktop.

Although it technically has Linux support i haven't touched the Linux part since i don't use Linux. This is the first release so i have given it the beta tag to avoid any confusion, if you have any problems feel free to open an issue. Tnx.

Developer Compress, merge, upscale and convert files from place where they locate - without ads, visit webservices, no browser

As a long-time user of various open-source utilities shared across Reddit and GitHub, I kept bumping into the same friction:

Every time I need a quick task done (compress a PDF, extract audio, convert an image), I either have to hunt down a specific .exe file, launch a separate app, or go to a browser-based service, close ads, and deal with watermark limits. Buying 3 different $20/month subscriptions just to process a couple of files a week felt totally unreasonable.

So I decided to solve this by building a lightweight (~28MB) native desktop gateway that brings all these file actions directly to your cursor.

Instead of going to the browser or opening separate apps, the tools come directly to where your files are.

How it works:
1. Select any file in Explorer or on your Desktop.
2. Press a global hotkey (CTRL + ALT).
3. A clean command palette pops up with available Actions.
4. Pick an action (e.g., Compress Video or Translate PDF).
5. The processed output file appears right next to your original file.

Actions are split into two categories:

  1. Completely free and almost instant (Local)
Executed 100% locally on your machine with zero server calls:
    - Video Compression
    - PDF Compression
    - Extract Audio from Video (MP4 to MP3)
    - PDF to JPG
    - Merge PDF
    - Web Video and Audio Downloader

  2. Pay-as-you-go AI Actions (Cloud)
For heavy AI tasks that require cloud GPUs or premium models. No monthly subscriptions - you only pay pennies for the exact file you process:
    - Audio transcription with speaker diarization ( Speaker A, Speaker B, etc.)
    - PDF translation with preserved layout ( DeepL ApI)
    - Image and video upscaling
    - Background removal (images and videos)
    - Text to speech (male and female)

It comes with starter test credits upon installation so you can try out the full workflow and cloud actions immediately.

My goal is to make as many actions as possible 100% local and free. If you know of open-source libraries that can replace any of the current cloud actions. Please drop a comment and I’d love to get your feedback

Developer I got tired of switching tabs to change music while studying, so I built a minimal focus timer app

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey guys!

I’ve been working on a small side project for the past couple of weeks and wanted to share it with yall.

I kept getting distracted every time I had to open my browser or phone just to change a song or check my study timer. So, I built NIGHTSTAND, it’s a free, minimal fullscreen Windows app that combines a focus timer, a simple daily checklist, and music controls in one place.

A few cool things it does:

  • Fullscreen Countdown Timer: Clean, bold display to keep you on track.
  • Built-in Music Player: Control Spotify or YouTube Music directly from the sidebar without alt-tabbing.
  • Daily Checklist: Keep track of your daily tasks (it auto-resets each day).
  • Custom Color Themes: Includes a super clean Emerald/Midnight dark theme and some soft pastel options (Mint, Lavender, Peach, Sky Blue).
  • Auto-Dimming: If you leave it sitting on your desk for 3 minutes, it automatically dims down so it doesn't burn your screen or distract you.

It's completely free and standalone (you don't even need to install anything, just run the .exe).

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what you think or what you'd add to it!
