A big fan of the vintage look, the wood is beautiful, won't be painted.
Even though this particular design is all over the place, it is something I really enjoy making.

It's quite nice to carve small things. Gotta add titles to the books! Jenga blocks are decent alternatives to buying basswood blocks and I have quite a few ideas for the rest of the blocks!

I tried my hand at following a loose tutorial from the youtube channel linker. It was his comfort bird one.
Although mine looks a bit more like a submarine than a bird. I might nip off the tip and give it to my son calling it a submarine

Hi everyone, I've wanted to start carving for a while now and I've been thinking about starting with this Beavercraft set. Is it good for beginners? I don't have much money for anything more expensive right now and I'm wondering if it's better to have nothing than this.

I’m a lady whittler with small tired mitts, lemme tell you. Used a Lee Ferguson knife, great small handle knife. Stropped often. Had trouble getting the cap to round more, it was the end piece of some Treeline USA basswood, but I’m happy with it! Did some light acrylic paint washing on it, along with oil and wax. It joined the ranks of 3 other mushrooms on my mantle.

My granddad used to whittle tops from wooden thread spools, but I never watched him doing it. I've came into possession of a bunch of spools and wasn't too make some for my kids. Does anyone do these? I've searched YouTube and Pinterest and can't find anything. A guide video, and written guide anything like that would help.
