If it wasn't for Steam users keeping me informed about everything Epic does or Tim says I wouldn't be aware of it.
So it doesn't really seem one sided to me when people are so hyper fixated on Epic on this site that they have to ensure that everyone else constantly hears about whatever shit Epic is doing.
This is an excellent reply to a comment that says "Steam and /r/steam are the exact same entity."
e: Challenge: explain which part of what the other person commented suggests Steam and the Steam subreddit are the same entity. If you can't, just downvote me, but as you do, say to yourself "I'm downvoting a comment that is absolutely correct, because X". Fill in the X yourself - whatever it is is what I'd ultimately be getting at, if you weren't too afraid to engage. When you're aware of X, I've achieved my aim. You're welcome.
This is an excellent reply to a comment that says "Steam media accounts are alluding to epic".
e: That commenter literally said nothing of the sort. Why does it upset this community so much to have that pointed out? Is there just no regard for rationality in this place? Do you feel attacked because you think someone is criticising Steam users, and you need so badly to defend your honour that you'll just straight up pretend they said something else? Getting your knickers in a twist over my record correction just further suggests that mindset. Like, seriously, what? What has driven people to these nonsensical reactions? I am genuinely baffled.
Honestly, my best guess is "this person is right and that contradicts my mental gymnastics for coping with someone saying something benign about Steam". I dare you to engage, because I'd be quite relieved to learn that it's not something so jaw-droppingly pathetic.
I honestly think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who isn't a Steam user, other than Sweeney, talking about Epic.
e: So this is the kind of community that will accept a strawman and actively discourage pointing it out. I genuinely don't even know what's driving you to this childlike bias. Do you actually feel attacked by that comment or something? Also, If you dispute my claim, dispute my claim. If you can't (spoiler: you can't, because who the hell talks about Epic and doesn't use Steam) then admit I'm right and note how this community responds regardless. It's so silly, man.
The key word here is users, which are the ones you want to listen to because obviously Epic staff will have bias towards Epic games launcher, whereas users are only biased towards whatever platform works better for them, and since Epic is constantly doubling down on generative AI (the exact issue making it ridiculously expensive to build a gaming pc right now), it's no wonder users dont want to support Epic
I don't understand the replies you're getting either. Do people just wholly imagine what comments say now?
e: Literally no idea what you're all upset about. Those replies make no sense, and look like misplaced knee-jerk reactions. Absent a better explanation, they (and, noting the vote trends, this community) look silly. I'm trying to help, to give you an opportunity to explain for those of us who aren't reading whatever you are into things, but I realise a silly community wouldn't appreciate that.
