My first year of college I got a 4.0. proved i could do it and then realized it wasn't Worth the effort. Finished college with like a 3.4 and was so much happier.

It depends.

If you’re in undergrad looking to go to medical/law/graduate school, then it helps to keep your GPA competitive.

GPA will still determine what programs are open to you after graduation.

If you’re in a program just for the immediate degree (with no intention to go beyond) then a pass is a pass
