VALVe games 🥀
Like okay I'd get it if the server was based in Russia, but it never fucking is! I'm here in a fucking Stockholm server filled with Russians screaming slurs inbetween incoherent nonsense (russian)!
My general rule of thumb is: the language spoken online should be based either on the server's physical location, the most spoken language (aka just English), or the language of the origin of the platform/community/game
If you have a game made by Russians with a server hosted from Russia, then yeah very much fair game to be speaking Russian there
Because almost no games have official Russian servers? And closest countries with servers are Sweden, Germany, maybe Poland. Also i generally speak Russian in games because i expect also hearing other Russians cuz in 95% of the cases in games im playing everyone is Russian because, well, im from Russia and as thus servers i join is also most likely to be filled with people from Russia. Tho if i see person who speaks English or i see that seemingly nobody understands me i assume they aren't from Russia so i change to English
1st, Why the fuck do you insult my country by adding "bum-ass", the fuck?
2nd, Because its my main language, and because all previous games i played i had my team speaking Russian. Like i now mainly only play deadlock, and in like 500 hours that i played like 95% whole lobby was Russians, maybe 1-3 English speakers on my/enemy team
Do you have any research to back this up, or is it just speculation? Schizo, no one uses Russian by default on the European internet except russians and maybe Belarusians. I can already see Czechs, Poles, Slovaks, and Slovenians (aside from the alphabet discrepancy, but who cares about that XDDDD) using russian, especially since it's not taught in schools. "most popular Slavic language" my ass.
What, so you telling me if there is no german server in game, then Germans can join one located in Italy and speak their language, because they are expecting other Germans to be there? And what about Italians??? Russians truly think the world revolves around them.
When I hit the "play" button I expect to be matchmaked with people who do speak my language. You sell me a game, fully translated and dubbed then why the fuck will you matchmake me with somebody whos cilent language is just different? How the fuck am I supposed to make calls to foreigners if all the locations and item names sound VERY DIFFERENT?
not to say your point isnt valid, but i want to point out that russians are in every european servers cause our government is horrible, and alongside with killing civilians for no other reason than imperialism, they also banned literally fucking everything on the internet, so you have to use vpn, and if you play games you have to choose european servers.
I myself usually start with english until there is more than one other russian in the team.
